I have worked at a Bath & Body Works for six years and was one of the part time managers, so today I will be spilling the tea! Agreed, even with the changes in their return and exchange policies, I still find it's sufficient for those who need to make a change in their purchase! 🥰
I wish they would bring back the original Tutti Dolce line from 2003!! Creme Brulee was amazing!!

Yes, that original Tutti Dolci line was the absolute best! 💯 Nothing compares! Oh man, was the Banana Strawberry Daiquiri a part of the Temptations line? I would have loved a chance to smell that one! 🍓 🍌 Agreed, so many treasured scents from back in the day that need to make a comeback!

I know, I miss the coffee shop so much, they had an even bigger location which is where I worked for even long actually, and it was the perfect place to go if you wanted to feel like the main character of an Autumn themed Hallmark movie! 😍🍂🍁🎃
Yes, that's one of the best things about fragrance is when you get good memories attached to them, and then when you smell it again, it takes you back! 😁
I loved getting to know you a bit more and hearing about your own personal nostalgia and special memories! I think we’re about the same age and I cherish my college years and the time I worked at Bath and Body Works (I’m also a big Björk fan haha) so I felt we were kindred spirits as I watched this video:)

@@MelissaC I only worked there from July 2020-November 2020 because I was offered a different job at the school my dad worked at and it was better to be on the same schedule as my family (as much as I wanted to stay at BBW!). But oh man I don’t know if I could pick just one favorite😂 she has something for every human emotion, I guess it depends on how I feel!! Songs that come to mind are Venus as a Boy, Joga, Hyperballad, Pagan Poetry, Stonemilker, Future Forever. What about you??

Have you gotten a chance to smell both last year's and this year's Cotton Candy Clouds? On first sniff of the new, it smelled identical to me but I need to bust out my last year's bottle and truly compare still! 😊
@@MelissaC yes I own both of them now and they smell very alike but a bit different...i notice last years was much more vanilla and this years is more of a berry cotton candy.

Howdy neighbor (I'm north of Spokane in WA) I'm enjoying my first SAS and I'm getting some deals on lovely items 😁 We don't eat much meat either and I make a black bean vege burger from a recipe I saw in parenting magazine years ago. Its delicious and a huge favorite in my family. If you'd like ill reply with the recipe but its very budget friendly🙂

YES!! I got 6 Bubble Gum Pop shower gels and 2 Fine Fragrance Mists last Summer (Semi Annual Sale) and I haven’t even used it yet. I have soo many others I’m using. I think I’ll use it next month now that you mentioned it. (i only keep 1 to 2 shower gels in my shower at a time.) i have used the Fine Fragrance Mist a couple times and it’s nice. If they bring it back I’ll definitely buy like 20 of the shower gels for my kids.
Love this! Bubble Gum Pop is worth stocking up on, I feel like they don't make as many fun "for kid" types of fragrances as much as they used to in the early 2000s. This one definitely made me feel like a kid again! 🎀🧼

Aww thank you, glad you liked it! I know what you mean about being nostalgic even if it's not exactly your own memories. I feel like people who grew up close to the same time period have lots of similar shared memories, or even people who were parents to kids in the 90s still get it too! 😁 Love the cable knit sweater packaging, I always love it when they get creative with the fragrance mists packaging especially! 🥰

I really wish they would make a Dreft scent. Like the Baby laundry detergent. It smells SOO GOOD!! I wanna smell like that so bad.
Ooh have you smelled the Fresh Coconut and Cotton or Sea Island Shore? Those are two body care scents they have on clearance for SAS right now that remind me of soft clean laundry! 🧺
@@MelissaC I actually used to use Sea Island Cotton back in like 2014-2016 but I just used it on my Husbands laundry when I’d fold it and I’d spray my furniture and Bed with it. Never actually wore it. And it’s funny you mentioned fresh coconut and cotton because I just went in store and finally smelled it last night and it smelled very faint. I smelled a shower gel. I think I might have to buy one and use it and see how I like it.
I notice this happens a lot. Idk if it’s just me but I’ll smell something in store and not like it or think I can’t smell it and then I’ll buy it anyway and get it home and I’ll fall in love with it. Maybe from smelling SO many things we go nose blind? I’m sure there’s a science behind it. Wonder why that happens or if it happens for others as well. I can’t be the only one.
Scent notes for Everlasting magic are bejeweled berries, phantom petals and musk. So, it's not that one. 😢😢 Fingers crossed! 🤞
Ohhh haha well, I have to say...in the last year or two I was really getting fed up with the amount of repackaged scents and was craving brand new, not smelled before fragrances! Sounds like that's what I'll be getting! 😂
I think what set them apart was their policy. Now that they changed it its no different than every other company. I customer service is good tho.
Yeah, their return/exchange policy was super generous before. Not only that but the less rules, the easier it was to understand! (as a customer and an employee! 😂)
I really enjoyed your Q & A video. I was wondering if you could say what made a great employee to management to you.
Thank you so much for watching my Q&A! 😊 Do you mean like, what do I think a manager likes to see in employees at BBW? If so, I'd say some of the most important things that the management looks at when hiring/prioritizing employees is:
* Availability/flexibility: Sometimes it was hard to get people to cover shifts and understandably so. BBW can be annoying with sudden schedule changes, needing a shift covered last minute, or earning extra hours because we made over sales plan. So we were constantly calling people last minute asking if they could come in, and we always knew which ones to call first because they would be more likely to say yes.
* Good at selling or eager to learn to be a good seller: Whether you are a natural or not didn't really matter (of course it helps if you are), but I always loved it when employees would deeply engage in our conversations on how to get better at selling, and actually apply tips I'd teach them. There would be other employees who would just "humor me" when training them how to improve their skills and not really take it any higher. So showing desire to learn and improve was actually a quality I looked out for.
* Fast/efficient: There are a lot of tasks that need to be done, and we occasionally would have a hard time with dawdling employees. Things like getting distracted chatting with other employees, or focusing too much on replenishing the store instead of helping customers that just walked in the store, etc. So having good focus and good pace when working was something that I appreciated in employees too.

Why does the body cream say it’s only good for 12 months when you say the self life is 2 - 3 years
It depends tbh. A body cream can go bad faster if its in the heat. It all depends on how you store it.
Do you use BBW products from Canada by chance? The USA packaging doesn't have the 12M symbol, or any expiration/shelf life symbol on them at all. Canadian packaging has quite a few differences on the bottles from the US so maybe it's on those ones. The only time a BBW product suggests an expiration date on the bottle is if it has an active ingredient like the hand sanitizers/antibacterial products, or sunscreen/SPF. On their website, and what I was taught when I was working there was 2-3 years, and possibly 3 or more years if unopened. At the end of the day, if you feel your product has gone bad and you don't want to use it then just use good discretion! 😊

Oooh yes that would be good! I remember back in the day a candle called Vanilla Bean and Marshmallow that was kind of like that. There really arent many caramel scents for body care!

That's about how I handle when I'm in store-- I'm in there so often and consume so much youtube content on bbw, I could probably give them a sales schpeal on a new products that would impress even them 😂 so I entertain their 'new customer walking in', sale of the day speech, say thanks but 'no thanks I'm just looking around, I'll come find ya if I need help'. I want to be like, save your energies for the newbie customers that need to be sold on scents. I, however, need to be sold on NOT buying everything new when it comes out lol
Yeah, I hear ya. At the end of the day, the "here's what the sales are" speech is actually not what we are supposed to do at all! Usually a sales associate will do that if they don't know what else to say or haven't been trained to truly sell! 🤦♀️ We all do it sometimes though when you can tell a customer doesn't want to hear it though! 😅
If I walk in and they don't know I have a BBW background, I usually just match their energy/excitement, maybe ask like one or two questions to make them feel helpful, but also to clue them in that I already know everything I need to know. For example I might say, "Oh yeah, I saw all of the new tropical scents online already! Can you spray me a sample of the Watermelon Mojito? I haven't smelled that one yet." or "Yes, I knew they came out this week so that's why I came in. Can I have a bag?" Since their main job is to convert customers to making a purchase, they understand right away that I'm already a converted customer and they don't have to try so hard with me! 😊 If they become too clingy, (which usually after that initial interaction they don't) I'll just say something like, "Perfect thanks for your help! I'm gonna start smelling all of these. What's your name so I can ask for help if I need it?" I know technically no one owes a sales person anything and no one has to do all of these interactions if they don't want, but once you work retail you realize that there can be a happy middle place where you can come off as polite and nice, have the employee feel like they did their job, and still be left alone to focus on shopping! Everyone wins! 😁 And I agree with what you said...definitely don't have to talk me into buying BBW, I'm already an addict! 🤣
@MelissaC not at BBW, but I worked 8½ years in retail, that's what has made me a more compassionate customer to every retail employee, I think 😂 I have to say, I've (gratefully) never had a bbw employee get too clingy on me. My favorite add-in phrase when they say "have you smelled our new scent _____" I'll say "no but I've watched all sorts of videos on it, that's why I'm here!" I think they're like ok she's one of the crazy's, she's good 😂
I also think my normal personality is a bit too....prickly....for anyone to get too clingy to me 😂🙆♀️

Yes, let's talk Pokemon! 😂 Not because it's my favorite of all of them, but just because it's the one I played the most as a kid, I would say it's Emerald for the GBA. I was raised on Pokemon the moment it came out in the US (I was 3) so we recorded the tv shows onto VHS (lol back in the day!) and watched them on repeat. I remember when we got our N64, and I non stop played Hey You Pikachu, Pokemon Stadium (the first and later the second one too) Pokemon Puzzle League, and Pokemon Snap. The cassette tape of the soundtrack to the 1999 movie was permanently running in our family van too. So obsessed! Also my older sister was really into collecting Pokemon Cards and had a huge group of friends that would come over to our house and we'd host our own Pokemon card tournaments. Later when she was older she became the gym leader at our local game store that had an official Pokemon tournament weekly, and I even got to fill in for her a couple of times! 🤣 It was pretty awesome, I had this "hardcore" Piplup deck that would win every time LOL!

No word of that scent specifically that I've seen! The body care for Halloween that I've seen are Vampire Blood, Midnight Spell, and Everlasting Magic. The last two are brand new names but perhaps one is going to be a repackage. ( If it is, I'm placing my bet on Everlasting Magic, but don't know yet!)
