I loved taker's biker run during that time. Dont get me wrong I like the mortician character too but seeing him in his biker persona made him alot more relatable.

I think for copyright purposes and to protect himself against potential lawsuits the channel creator has to have altered versions of the wrestlers' theme songs.
That whole segment on Smackdown where Taker challenges Vince to the Buried Alive match at Survivor Series was one of my favorite early memories of the dead man. I’d only been watching for a few months and this was when Undertaker became my favorite.
Conor Murphy mine was in 1997 when I was flicking through the channels and saw him in his blue light coming out and he beat somebody in 15 seconds, I was like, damn!!!! This guy can fight and I was hook on wrestling every since that day especially with undertaker.
Aug 02 - Nov 03 for me is probably my favourite period of the 'Big Evil' era in terms of match quality, feuds and promos, Undertaker signing with Smackdown after Summerslam was a stroke of genius and he played a huge part in the success of the show and making it better than Raw. He had excellent matches and was always a strong contender to win the wwe title on any given night. For me his best feud during this time was with Brock Lesnar who he not only put over in a big way but shot him to the moon as a huge star of the company and also had a classic meeting with Kurt Angle even though it ended in a DQ. Smackdown during the ruthless aggression era was delivering their best stuff and a lot of that was due to the Undertaker but at the same time, the biker gimmick had gone as far as it could go and it was time for the deadman to come back. It's great seeing all this again as it brings back lots of good memories of my high school days. Many thanks for this great trip down memory lane and keep up the good work 👏
Agree! In overal it is my favorite era of Smackdown: Eddie, Chris, Rey, Angle, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, the rise of the Big Show, heel Matt hardy, unfortunatly Edge got injured!
Same here, it's my all time favorite era of Smackdown and look at all those names you got there, what an amazing roster of talent. They helped make the show so much better than Raw, it is a shame that Edge got hurt at the beginning of 03 but he also helped play a big part with the blue brand in the second half of 02.
I sorta disagree. I think ‘Taker could have stretched ABA/Big Evil a good deal further. He was fully behind keeping the gimmick alive and with his interest in it, I feel he definitely could’ve made it work. But we’ll never know, sort of an alternate universe scenario I play in my head sometimes
@@evgeniikolupaev5339 Smackdown was "the wrestling show" during this time, whereas Raw was full of Triple H promos, goofy backstage segments and pre-PG Era Diva antics

Taker had to change his character, you can't have 30 years of the same character, it's gonna get stale. Look at Hogan into the mid 90's before his change.... Biker Taker suited the Ruthless Aggression era, it was a bit more "modern" at the time, away from the gimmicky mid 90's & wild late 90's. It's like a classic return to face from heel move, the audience goes nuts to get the "old" character back, rather than be there all the time with no change!

What I would like to see is a return of the human Biker Undertake but he's struggling between his human Biker and his Dark Side Deadman. A internal conflict between being human and being supernatural.
Before he pretty much said in the Last Ride documentary that he's done, I sort of thought we'd maybe get something a bit like that going forward. He could ride out on the bike and cut promos as a real guy but still pull out the supernatural stuff on rare occasions. I suppose the "Unholy Trinity" thing was sort of that, though within the confines of the Boneyard.

Adding an "extra marital affair" angle to that first Biker Taker versus Brock match, had slimy, lust- filled, Vince McMahon written all over it.
Recall that at the same exact time that was happening on Smackdown, Taker's "brother" Kane was wrapped up in the Katie Vick storyline on RAW.
