  • HTC used to be a massive player in the smartphone world. It had innovative designs and some great phones. Over the last few years they have really just gotten lost in the mix.
    While browsing on Ebay a while ago I find this time capsule of a phone. This is a HTC One M7, which was one of the GREATEST phones HTC ever made in my opinion. It’s a blast from the past and I’m so excited to check this phone out.

    I used this phone until December of 2020 and it was an amazing phone, it was kind of slow and I had issues with the battery (due to ageing), plus the camera was terrible but the quality of the phone itself was really good. I dropped it from different heights and the screen never broke. Legendary phone, 10/10.

    I keep waiting for what's left of HTC to do the unthinkable and release a modern day equivalent, catapulting their popularity and fortunes, until the inevitable decay and demise, only to be repeated in an never ending cycle.
    If they could release one meteorically exquisite phone a decade, every decade, I could enjoy that.

  • @andusensei

    Can confirm that the accessories are 100% original. Or at least taken from another M7 or HTC device of the same era. Only things missing in the box is the headphones, which I remember being decent back in the day, and the plastic wraps. I just pulled out mine from high school, installing LineageOS on it and I'll see if I can use it for something lol.

    Great job bro.
    I have it ( the dual sim version) since 2013, the box, the cable, the charger, even the great earphones untouched.
    Your cable is not the original, the original one is flat with alittle curvature ( I mean it was not totally flat but alittle swollen or rounded with abrubbery feel).

    • @Auto-Technica
      @Auto-Technica  3 года назад +1

      Ahh gotcha! That's good to know! With a phone this old and being in used condition, I guess that's to be expected. I didn't know they made a dual sim version of this phone, that's pretty cool. Save this phone, we'll look back at it in 5-10 years and it'll stand out as a turning point in phone design in my opinion.

    I loved my HTC One M7. I remember getting it and my coworkers being very impressed by it. The only issue was that the camera was awful. The ultra pixel system just wasn’t good at all.
    Unfortunately HTC phones always had horrible cameras. I was looking through some old photos the other day taken with the m7. And they really were atrocious.
    Anyway I had been a HTC fanboy every year since 2006 with the HTC MDA. Still weird not picking up HTC phones anymore. I’m basically have moved to the Apple ecosystem

    • @Auto-Technica
      @Auto-Technica  3 года назад

      I actually do remember they weren't the greatest with their cameras, but it was decent enough for the time. Interesting to hear that they didn't hold up over time! I used to love HTC too they made so really cool stuff and experimented a lot too.

      @@Auto-Technica the only camera that I felt HTC nailed was the one in the HTC Amaze. A little known phone they made for T-Mobile. That phone was awesome. But the HTC One S was a massive drop. M7 was a step up, but still not that good.
