I am a teacher, and I know is no easy to deal with this type of situations, sadly more and more common nowadays and each time at more early ages, We are also responsible to preserve the safety of the other kids. But perhaps due to my educational background in psychology and child development, I tend to look for or identify the underlying causes or issues for such behavior or (symptoms), and try to find the professional help for the kids and the families. that way they can work in the identification of mental illness, and the intervention. Sadly in more than one occasion my bosses have been reluctant to do more. I think it is in part for lack of knowledge, and also lack of empathy.
Once again Dr Amador is very accurate, and assertive about this issue. Although I know this is problem is multifactorial, the first thing that came to my mind was, if all the school knew about his problems, did the school do something else to help him, beside to expelled him out?.
