I agree. I hope they will add in fine tuning of the sound tracks. The arrangement is odd, the music don't fit the scenes, just generally something playing in the background. Oh well they got priority to meet, the gameplay has to be good first. They can handle other things later. Right now they need to get it working for some quite big chunk of people.

Yea the fact they lean hard on it and using musical terms for monsters and skills is kind a disappointing since you would expect the music and sound would be great to complement it even the world building revolves around sound.
Having a good music and being dynamic would really elevate the combat imo since it would feel like your every action can affect the sound (not like rhythm games were you need to time the beat) and it will be the one thing that is unique for Resonators.

As someone who has just started Wuthering Waves, I too was dissapointed on how the music was kinda... Muffled? For a lack of better terms. My problem with the music is there isn't enough variation per area. I like how in Genshin there are several 2 minute tracks that rotate for every area/city and there are a few minutes of silence in between each track. My exact same thoughts, combat /exploration are very fun but a lot on the artistic side leaves a lot to be desired imo, beyond the bland lofi-ish music as soundtrack - visual identity, artistic direction, character design, a lot of it is reminding me of Tower of Fantasy and that's pretty bad. Ironically, ToF had some cool songs going on, in my short experience with it - like the song it plays in the amusement park with the fireworks ("Meant to Be"), I remember actually stopping mid gameplay just to listen and look at the fireworks show, it was pretty iconic. After I stopped playing, they later on released another theme song called "Drifting Away" that is just so beautiful, even better than the first. Stopping to pay attention to the soundtracks hasn't happened yet in WuWa, I really hope they change that in future patches.

    1. Yangyang is absolutely lifeless, dull and boring and the fact that she's an important character with a lot of dialog especially early on makes it even worse.
    2. The soundtrack is also kind of dull and lifeless, the most thrilling music is the tittle screen menu music and that's about it.
    3. The characters aren't that interesting.
    4. The MC (You) ONCE AGAIN suffers from the worst trope in gaming history, the Amnesia Trope (Seriously I'm so sick of that stupid trope because WAY too many games rely on it rather than actually giving the MC an interesting story from the beginning, the Amnesia trope is such a bland and easy cop-out for the lack of creativity and compelling story telling.)

The music isn't the issue, I actually like the music, The bass hitting when you get into combat with the glitchyness of the strings and the piano feels good (I'm playing with IEMs).
The game is the issue. It's been altered to suit the complaints of people. The color palette was changed, character [designs] were changed, most likely story bits as well, among other things. So that feeling we got when we listened to "Flow" is gone, because the game isn't that anymore.

Having the concept of a world made up by sound waves and frequencies, only for the actual in-game sound to be lackluster and not incorporated in the gameplay, is such a missed opportunity🤔
Like, imagine if achieving certain soundeffects or something was part of the mechanism?
Someone mentioned rhythm games. How cool wouldn't it be to beat monsters, or just get bonus dmg, from hitting in synch with the battle music or something? Or if each monstertype had their own actual soundwave/theme signaling the optimal time for dodge/counterattack?
Yk, anything that makes the soundwave concept feel integral to the world and not just a, "it really isn't magic/zombies/vampires because it's called something diFfEReNt."
Or instead of creating funky weather the anomalies could emit sounds that attract monsters, confuse creatures, breaks glass/stone, and more.
Doesn't matter if they do expand on it later, because if it's integral then it should be so integral you can see it from the very beginning🤷🏻‍♀️
All that being said, I do love the movement and combat mechanics as they are!

The only thing so far that Wuthering Waves does better is the combat difficulty. I've actually skipped story, something I usually would NEVER do, because I just couldn't take all those half-explained lorebits, airy voices, lack of musical tension and mediocre plotpoints anymore. Granted, I am not that far into the game yet, but it hasn't hooked me in the slightest.

Alright, from what I found out is that Kuro Games was almost broke during the CBTs yue to the adjustments and launch is kinda the aftermath or rather the confirmation for this aswell as the music.
The incredible music from PGR is from Vanguard Sound Studios. They did actually make a Menu theme for Wuthering Waves, but it only appeared in one of the CBTs.
The resason we dont hear anything else from Vanguard Sound Studios in Wuthering Waves is because of Kuro games funds being put into testing and adjusting etc.
But why isnt the Theme we already have from Vamguary Sound Studios not being used? Consistency. It would be very odd to have this one incredible piece in the menu and nothing else on a similar level in the game.
So yeah, we either have to wait till they can hire Vanguard Sound Studios...or hope that Kuro Games own Sound Studio theyre currently using gets some epic stuff out on their own.
