Amazing work as usual. Cliftons craftsmanship on the sills is beautiful, a real work of art. And I loved the film clips around the yard and on the beach. Very atmospheric. Leo, you are not only a great boatbuilder, but also a great filmmaker! Thanks.
"100 years from now the next guy who restores this boat will be looking at those parts" and marveling at the old-world craftsmanship that he has to replicate.
I hope from bottom of my heart that after 100 years, someone as talented as Leo and his team will restore Tally Ho once again to it's full glory. They will have amazing material on their hands on how Tally Ho was restored last time (If someone will archive this channel in a way that they can still watch these videos). After every episode I'm somehow more and more in awe on craftsmanship and how uncompromisingly every small detail is done on this ship. Leo has been able to gather amazing talented team around him. And to addition the production quality of each episode surpasses most of big budget tv productions. Hats off to you all!!
Well, considering Leo, he'd most likely try to keep Tally Ho in much better overall condition that when he first got it for whomever gets her for another restoration job. A lot of these parts would likely survive to the next reincarnation of the boat!
Seeing 5 years ago your first episode I knew it was going to be a huge task to complete Tally Ho. I hope I will see this ship in the future in real life. Here in The Netherlands we have some events with sailing ships and hope you and your crew will come to one of these events. Wow.
Astonishing work here. Such craftsmanship I thought was well lost in a bygone era. You should all be congratulated on such a magnificent job. The entire undertaking leaves me gobsmacked. The videos and the music are always wonderful. Lastly, KAMIKO Knive should be over the moon with your commercial. Overall, this weeks video was a real blast.

Pinot Blanc, 5 string banjo by Wayward Jane and exceptional craftsmanship by the Tally Ho crew at every turn. What a wonderful juxtaposition and a way to spend time on a Sunday afternoon. Well done!
As my three year old granddaughter says,"oh my golly gosh!" Aren't they the sweetest looking tanks ever!?! I was worried I had missed this week's episode. Have a great week or two!
In some languages (including French, Spanish and Italian), the literal translation into English of their name for fresh water is "sweet water", so she spoke truer than she knew.
As a person that dreams of learning how to woodwork, I have watched these magicians fearlessly create 3-D joinery with skills that I cannot comprehend. Now this episode opens with "and then I can start the scary part"??? You mean to seriously say that the work you have done so far is EASY??!!
All the work you do is beautiful, I think back of those days when you were pulling roten pieces of timber off that old structure called a boat, I could never imagine how painstaking, precise and technical it would become, as a retired tradesman congratulate you all. BTW I love all the tools and machinery you have.
Thanks, 'We are getting sponsored and this is what we're spending it on'. A slap-up meal for the team is what everyine deserves now and then. And a superb advert, too.
I vote the in video commercial for Kamikoto knives as the most innovative and funny in video commercial I have ever seen. Seen some pretty innovative ones but as far as I can say this is the best hands down. They need to us it for regular commercials imo. If they do...make sure they pay you Leo.
Diehard Tally Ho fan here. Seriously Leo, if you have to keep making such hilarious ads to supplement the build then I'm all for it. I've rewound and watched the 'ad' bit 4 times already! If I were Kamikoto I'd be very happy with your efforts! Well done, and of course well done with the whole project. Waking up to a Sunday morning without your video was a huge disappointment, but, as they say: 'all good things come to those who wait.' Looking forward to launch day (in 2 years time 🤣).
Leo, some trivia. That big block at the fwd end of the bulwark is pretty close to the layout on sailing trawlers. They (specifically the Brixham sloops, but later mules and Lowestoft smacks) had a big roller next to the stem, flush with the rail, over which ran kind of relief line to the trawl. The idea was that if the trawl fouled, the main warp would come loose, and this relief line would take up and swing the smack into the wind. We used it for anchoring though, and for that it was perfect!
I have really enjoyed watching Leo and his merry men doing a beautiful job, and bringing their craft to all of us. All the traditional crafts may pass us by, if we don't document them, and hand down those skills to all of our future generations.
Came for the diesel, stayed for the water! #tanks :) Great work again from the whole crew. Hate advertisments, but you did this one right! Watched it, had fun, checked the website.
“A lot harder and more complex than they look.” Is that the understatement of the year- they already look incredibly complex, and even so the workmanship is quite simply superb!

After every episode I'm somehow more and more in awe on craftsmanship and how uncompromisingly every small detail is done on this ship. Leo has been able to gather amazing talented team around him. And to addition the production quality of each episode surpasses most of big budget tv productions. Hats off to you all!!
I hope they don't copy Leo at all!! They would be throwing the whole boat out and starting from scratch! (Said with my tongue in cheek)
Wow.
I was saying just recently that there are no good ads anymore. And then this! Brilliant!
I loved your work in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
I seriously hope one day I need a circular saw that big. I love when it makes an appearance!
It always reminds me of Crocodile Dundee and the aspiring muggers
Oh man, those sills took my breath away. just the skill and artistry.... didn't even get to the end before I just had to comment... yay... another 13 mins of ship building still to enjoy and to see how your "curvy bits" come out Leo (LOL!)... thank you!
Clifton is the best wood craftsman I have ever seen. He is an artiest.
A hearty standing ovation for you and the crew, Tally Ho is truly a visual masterpiece.
All's good with the world I've had my Tally Ho update and can't believe just how more beautiful she gets with each passing video. I so hope I get to see her in the flesh one day when she is visiting the UK.
I've never seen the crew so happy and full of banter as this video showed. Looks like you've all really come together as a team, its nice to see!
Leo, your absolute CRAFTSMANSHIP is a complete JOY to watch! And your choices of such different musics is just great.
Pinot Blanc, 5 string banjo by Wayward Jane and exceptional craftsmanship by the Tally Ho crew at every turn. What a wonderful juxtaposition and a way to spend time on a Sunday afternoon. Well done!
nmk
Wow! When Clifton is working hard it puts whole new meaning to ‘When the chips are down’!
Good to see you guys having a some fun with knife ad😂
Clifton's work on those sills is truly awesome. Respect!!
This is the ONLY AD I've every watched through on RUclips. Great humor! You deserve a real cool fridge for this.
Funny ad, crap product.
I think I'm more excited than Leo at the progress of the boat. Each week it gets closer to launch. Can't wait for that day. Good work one and all.
If every RUclips ad was like your Kamikoto I wouldn't mind them
All the work you do is beautiful, I think back of those days when you were pulling roten pieces of timber off that old structure called a boat, I could never imagine how painstaking, precise and technical it would become, as a retired tradesman congratulate you all. BTW I love all the tools and machinery you have.
Yep I remember that episode when he first looked at the boat, I thought he was a mad man, how wrong I was
Thanks,
'We are getting sponsored and this is what we're spending it on'.
A slap-up meal for the team is what everyine deserves now and then.
And a superb advert, too.
When you called the Coast Guard, did you say "Hi, my name is Leo and I am a boat builder and a sailor..."
🤣😂
The care you display, gives you the elegant cruiser of tomorrow!
I vote the in video commercial for Kamikoto knives as the most innovative and funny in video commercial I have ever seen. Seen some pretty innovative ones but as far as I can say this is the best hands down. They need to us it for regular commercials imo. If they do...make sure they pay you Leo.
Very funny indeed, but a crappy product.
Great job by Clifton, those are some spectacular pieces of joinery!
Yours is the only channel that is worth watching for 40 minutes. Keep em coming . Great work .🤔😀😎🇦🇺👌
The yacht is gorgeous, and the woodwork exquisite.
This may have been your best video. Everyone was happy even the commercial was happy and fun. You guys are a team
Great to see a new episode, and the progress on Tally Ho!
A most satisfying video. Clifton's work is perfection. Well done Leo and team.
The advert for Kamikoto was so funny, excellent, I hope Kamikoto liked it 😂
Nothing short of fantastic work, hats off from a fellow shipbuilder in Canada
I love how positive and great all the comments are in this community.
I watch these videos for the entertainment value but the craftsmanship continues to exceed my expectations.
I've been watching from the beginning, and I still get blown away twice a month. Clifton, you are one BMF, outstanding work as usual.
The hand sawing on beat with the music is the kind of detail that really adds a bit of updog to these videos 🥰
Top notch carpentry. It’s beautiful
I have really enjoyed watching Leo and his merry men doing a beautiful job, and bringing their craft to all of us. All the traditional crafts may pass us by, if we don't document them, and hand down those skills to all of our future generations.
That knife advert was funny as hell. Keep up the amazing work Leo!
Not that funny.
You're all master craftsman, but Clifton's work is truly awesome.
Came for the diesel, stayed for the water! #tanks :)
Great work again from the whole crew. Hate advertisments, but you did this one right! Watched it, had fun, checked the website.
Wow. Just some amazing wood working skills. True craftsman. Long live the wooden boat
What a Master Wood Worker Clifton is! Love to watch him work... Love to watch your videos, Leo
“A lot harder and more complex than they look.”
Is that the understatement of the year- they already look incredibly complex, and even so the workmanship is quite simply superb!
Bravo, Clifton! Fantastic work! The sills are beautiful.
How many people can honestly say when the next guy looks at this it will be in a hundred years.
I doubt there is a boatyard anywhere in the world with a more skilled group of craftsman than you have working on this project. Amazing to watch those random pieces of tree turned into something so beautiful.
Leo&crew are indeed perfectionists but in all fairness there are several other shipwrights also worth their weight in gold!!
Spectacular full-length video, guys ... packed with superb craftsmanship. This will be the mark of the beginning of Patrick's acting career too, I think. Look to see him in various commercials as well. ;) What a fantastic crew it is, indeed!
In another 100 years a guy will say wow a real craftsman made this, amazing work you guys, a very entertaining video 👍😊
The joiner work by Clifton was incredible. And Leo that chain block was built with so many cuts, planning, sawing you could have been building a figurine, fantastic episode.
there's something about watching beautiful well fitted woodwork in winter that's just magical. I can smell the saw dust
Terrific woodworking Leo & Crew! I have worked with Purple Heart many times and really love that wood. Good seeing you guys enjoying yourselves and having some fun. Looking forward to the next video. Be well and stay safe! Tally Ho........ 👍👍
Clifton did an amazing job on those sills... they look so perfect for the tally ho.
beautiful work as always from the entire team, that boat is a thing of art already!
There is such joy when another Samson Boat Company video clip uploads. Today is my Lucky Day and I am so happy.
