I can totally relate to Zendaya. I myself get called skinny all the time and been told that I need to eat more. There are people who are just naturally born to be small. Body shaming period is disgusting. I feel that those who judge others about their looks PERIOD are just insecure about themselves.
People really don't know how disrespectful it is to say: "She? Nah, she isn't eating anything." Or "This doesn't apply to her. I mean does she even eat?". And those are sentences friends said that to my best friend. They don't judge. They don't try to be mean. But their words are so ignorant and hurtful. And I am so dumbfounded everytime. I just deny their words and just hope we don't talk about that anymore.
It is especially stupid, cause they clearly witness mutiple times that she eats more than me when we go out.
Omg I know right!? I grew up so skinny and people would make "jokes" like 'stuff bricks in her pockets so she doesn't float away with the wind'. It used to hurt my feelings so bad!

She is not too skinny. She is slim... That's her body type... She is not frail either and she does have muscles... She is a dancer. When people are too skinny or too heavy compared to what they are supposed to be, it usually show on their face. Zendaya has a full face. She, just, was never supposed to be bigger.

You can easily tell that she's just naturally skinny. There is a big difference between that and the rib poking out phase of anorexia. For her it's just natural and healthy. She is gorgeous.

It seemed the comments from julie klausner came more out of jealousy than thinking she was ugly. NOBODY thinks Zendaya is ugly. The comments from Giuliana Rancic? It's hard to take them any other way than the racism that it is. And ignorance too. I used to hang out with a dude for many years who had dreads and it was VERY common for women to come up to him when we were in bars and, sure enough, the, "but do they smell" comments were very common. Why would dreads smell? Hair is hair. It's stunning how ignorant some can be. People need to travel more and make friends outside of their comfort zone to learn a little.

I'm mixed and have a really hard time gaining weight. Unlike the US, my country glorifies thick bodies and I can't put into words how much it helps me too see girls like Zendaya and use them as inspiration to look good without feeling like I need to force myself to eat until I almost throw up in every meal.
Oh thick bodies are glorified in the US too. “Thick” meaning what the Kardashians look like with big butts, thin waists and big boobs. Maybe the tide is starting to turn now though with Zendaya being idolized. But really I wish we could get past this whole thing with body types being trends. Everyone should be allowed to feel happy in their own skin, thick or thin.

I definitely felt that in the end, both Giuliana Rancic's and Julie Klausner's comments stemmed from jealousy, mixed with racism. You have a super successful gorgeous, young woman of color who's probably the hottest woman in Hollywood right now and these C list celebrities a. are jealous of her beauty and success and b. think they can make themselves relevant by latching on to her success. They were nobodies to me, but I'll make sure from here on out to never consume anything they produce, which probably won't be anything worth a damn.

Literally I have the same issue, I was born and still am extremely skinny, doctors thought I had a disorder when really I was really skinny for my age, it didn’t bother me as much until I saw the looks I got from classmates and body shaming. So please leave her alone and to others who have the same issue.

I was naturally skinny reallyyyyyy skinny for most of my life. It wasn’t until my mid 20s that I really started gaining weight. Even now at 25, 110 pounds I’m still tiny but my weight doesn’t bother me as much. I was in high school super excited when I got to 80 pounds. It’s so annoying having everyone comment on your weight and causes a lot of insecurities

I think they're precious and young looking. I was surprised to hear that they were in their mid 20's because they look 10 years younger. Good for them! It must be so difficult not having enough private time together and always being so under a microscope all the time together. I don't care much about celebraties in general, but Zendaya is one of the most genuine people I see out there in Hollywood, she is NATURALLY beautiful, and what I love the most about her is her one tiny "Imperfection", her teeth. Dude do ppl not get that being naturally skinny is a thing. Just bc someone is skinny doesn't mean they are anorexic. And assuming they are, is hurtful and a form of skinny shaming. Which hurts as bad as any type of shaming. And being skinny isn't a bad thing and being not skinny isn't a bad thing either. We all need to support each other no matter what are bodies look like.

In truth Zen mostly has a thin, lean upper body, & she's tall so she ends up looking skinny, if her upper body was more filled out people wouldn't notice. When I was her age, this was normal. Americans have gotten too used to people being overweight.
She is a smart, strong, talented, and beautiful lady. The fact that she happens to be naturally thin there’s no more her fault than somebody who happens to be naturally thick. We can’t talk about body positivity and it only be about women who are overweight. Being positive about your body should mean that you’re positive regardless of what your body looks like. I have been a fan of Zendaya for several years now - I used to watch KC Undercover with my kids and thought she was superb in Euphoria. She is also stunningly beautiful and seems like a nice person. And Tom and she seem really happy together x

I am not really a "Celebrity couple" kind of person, but these two are probably the most adorable couple in Hollywood, and I truly amd honestly hope they keep doing their thing for many years to come.
I’ve always been on the heavier side. I remember I was around 10 years old & everytime I seen a certain aunt, I would hug & kiss her and eventually say “aunty, you’re so skinny!” I was never saying it to be mean, I was taught early on to always be kind to others. In fact, I thought I was being nice - only bc my siblings used to call me “fat”. Anyways, I remember saying it twice to her that day & after the second time, my mom pulled me aside and said “it’s not nice calling anyone skinny, especially your elders. It’s the same when someone calls you fat. It’s not nice.” I learned my lesson and apologized to my aunt. Since then, she and I got super close. I didn’t know she kept her distance from me bc she thought I’d embarrass her in public 😔

To the "comedian" that said Zendaya was basically promoting being skinny causing others to think they are fat, Zendaya is naturally skinny. She never told others they should look like her. That is not a medical condition she is just naturally skinny. To Juliana who said her dreads smelled, let's get rid of that stereotype. Not only were hers not permanent but even those with permanent dreads do wash their hair. If they don't that is a hygienic issue specific to that individual. She was basing her opinion off of a stereotype that did not apply to Zendaya. Both of these women are just jealous of how beautiful Zendaya is and how she can pull of versatile looks. They are too old to be picking on someone so young and should know better.

As a heavier person who has struggled my entire life with my weight, I literally cannot wrap my brain around a skinny person saying they are too skinny. To me, there’s (almost) no such thing. I would way rather be teased for being too skinny then for being too fat. Maybe that’s just because I don’t know what it’s like to be on the other side…
Yeah but it IS a thing. I’m like you, but my older sister is naturally very thin. And my little sister has been quite skinny before. I don’t think it’s quite the same as struggling with our higher weight, but it does feel like maybe your body is wrong and if you just looked different things would be better.

I was naturally thin, always too skinny for Latin America’s and the US standards, but I didn’t do anything to be thin - I ate what ever I wanted! and on the contrary, always wanted to gain weight. Even my family said nasty things about my body and made me feel horrible. I am 5’6 and back then weighted 112 pounds for many years. I had a Spanish boyfriend who always told me I looked perfect, but never believed him… All my inferiority complexes fade away when I went to live in France and saw women wanted to have my size.
Now being a 52 yrs old woman understand that all the people that made me feel skinny & awful where just envious and mean. 😢
I was naturally that thin till I was about 35. Why is it okay to shame thin people, but not heavy people? I got called scrawny, chicken legs, bul*mic, an*rexic, a drug addict. It's messed up. I ate more than most people I knew, had high metabolism, and I've only started gaining weight once I passed 40. I'm 120-125 now, the heaviest in my life. I have a booty now 😋

She's gorgeous and doesn't look sick or unhealthy like some. Some of us, like myself, have the luxury of eating all the junk in the world and still be "so skinny". Those no life fans can remember that when they are eating and counting calories or whatever you count. I wouldn't know. I went through the same criticisms in school and hated myself. My sister tried to help me so much. I finally embraced it and as long as the ones I love love it and know I'm healthy then I'm good.
