So on a rainy day, your entrance is under the dripping edge. Unless you have a gutter of some sort...just an observation...

This will bring all kinds of predators. Mice,weasels,bear, bigger bears, Yogi the bear, you'll get them all. And there isn't anything like a rooster crowing to tell everyone about your secret underground bunker. They will be able to find you in the dark.
