He was trying to sound I think like the lead singer from diamond head at the time, but then again he was like 18 when they made that demo pretty much still a kid. I’m 20 and I can sing pretty well but trying to hit those high notes James made I can’t my voice is permanently deeper than his was in 82’ it’s weird tho imo how it’s like James finally started hitting puberty around 24/25 from his look to his voice to his attitude.
I thought so, I prefer his master of puppets era vocals of all the albums, it’s definitely cus you can hear his younger voice and more mature voice at the same time@@goldenwolf8081
If he hadn't been needlessly screaming stuff like, Are we nuts tonight? every night for years his voice may have lasted quite a bit longer. He almost sounds like a different person now. Maybe even since the mid to late 90s. It's a shame because his voice 84-92 was absolutely fantastic, growly but able to carry melodies and pretty powerful with it.
@@CoolManOfficial69 I reckon his skill and alcohol intake played a large part. Don't you think the music and the band's stage presence would have done the trick with less screaming?
It’s funny how we don’t mind his voice from the first 3 albums but James himself hates it. I guess it’s to do with the fact that his voice wasn’t as properly trained as what we hear in AJFA (even though he got proper training in the Black Album)
@@ozricness I think a lot of people don’t like the sound of their voice, especially if they aren’t very confident, and there’s interviews of James saying hates it
@@CoolManOfficial69 I've seen the one where he says he doesn't like his KEA voice and, frankly, it isn't my favourite either. Some of Ride is also a bit flat. But the Master voice is absolutely iconic, I reckon this and Justice are his most revered non-Black album vocal performances. You seem not to be too fond of his 80s vocals, that's why I asked. Did you mean the music is a lot better than the vocals?
Justice voice is so badass he was a Chad in 88-89
Metallica as a whole was super badass that era, and extremely iconic
No kidding
James Hetfield 1982 is hard to comprehend, it sounds so different
То того как начал пить водку
Ikr? It sounds more like Dave Mustaine
Same, I thought it was Dave too but I guess it’s actually James, you can definitely tell he got the vocal influence from diamond head@@erdemuykan9219

His voice has absolutely changed throughout the years from his younger years to his older years
It’s most notable from 86 to 88
Ride the Lightning voice best for me, so young and angry.
That and master of puppets 🤑🤑
1982=weird era James
1983-1986=classic era James
1988-1991=prime era James
1996-2003=hard rock era James
2008-2024=modern era James
I like weird era James
@@OofysAnimations I think if I listened to recordings from that era more and got used to it I would like it
@@OofysAnimations’weird’ isn’t so weird for me
Prime Hetfield was powered by his moustache.
1988 is best
I kinda like 86 better
His voice on the black album is my favourite.
Wherever i may roam, his voice is dying here
He was just so much better than everyone else

well, that crowd participation was what made him a great frontman

James can oil me up 😻
Zoo wee mama
what the fuck
*what.*
real
HELP LMAO
❤❤❤❤❤
James' voice in Kill 'em All is the main reason I couldn't get into the album
His balls hadn’t quite dropped yet
83-84
I like 84-86
different people.
It seems like that sometimes
i wasnt a fan of kill em all hetfield, he pushed til voice broke/ it became more of a scream
Fun fact: Hetfield allegedly used autotune in S&M.
Really? I’ll have to look into that, I don’t think metal and auto tune mix very well
@@CoolManOfficial69 Andriy Vasylenko made a video about James’ use of autotune.
How can an unproven allegation be a fact?
@@Fireglo well he isn’t saying that James usage of auto tune is a fact, he is saying that the fact is he was accused of using it
@@CoolManOfficial69 that's a very toxic use of the word "fact".

Ajfa and black album
Very crunchy and raw, just like the guitar tone
