I've heard jsnip4 mention you a few times, so I found you. Thus far, I like what I see and hear.
In the late 70s I was building home foundations in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Some were 20+ courses different in elevation. I never liked batter boards because they are too easily knocked out of place. I always used a transit, and A squared + B squared = C squared. Any foundation I built came with the guarantee of + / - 1/4", or it was free - never had to give one away. So much for me, because I just came here to say "Nice Job!"

You explain it so well I really think I'd have no problem picking it up on day one. I've done a little bit of all kinds of construction, but foundation and blocks are among the few things I've never done.
You didn’t show the trench. All I saw was you. It would’ve been nice to see what you were working on.
