Haven’t had a chance to get the engine out yet but one thought is that the oil pan hit something when it off the road (huge dent in it), oil pan withstood it but it may have transferred the force through an engine mount, cracking the block. Will probably rebuild that engine regardless, when I swapped the valve covers it looked ridiculously clean inside.
I gotta say I love your passion, man. A lot of people would just give up and let it rust on junkyard. Keep up the good work man
Thank you, it helps that I’ve wanted an E39 540 since I was like 16 years old. The fact that it’s a wagon makes it even cooler to me.
This is such a pretty car, I am glad you are taking good care of it ❤
Anyone else would’ve junked it, so (despite all the $$) I’m happy I was able to save it.
Long live the euro wagon. Great work. 🙂
Thank you! 🫡
It’s great to see another e39 touring enthusiast! Especially in CT! Let me know if you need any odd ball parts to help with the restoration
Very kind of you to offer, thank you!
Did you ever find out what was broken on the Dinan donor car?
