Congratulations! Moving the the Bay Area can definitely be a daunting task not to mention very expensive! But coming from NYC you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much more space you get. Stick with safer neighborhoods like Palo Alto, Cupertino, Mountain View, Redwood City and the likes. Trulia shows you the crime rates in each neighborhood and rates it according to different criteria which is super helpful. We just found a place using Zillow but we didn’t choose the areas mentioned because we needed to be closer to the city. All the best!

Please do not move to California, it’s so bad down there. The crime is rising, people are robbed in broad daylight and criminals are running rampant. If you move there, I pray that you stay safe because it is absolutely insane. The police can’t guarantee YOUR safety.
