Man, you’ve brought me back to my days of going to Circuit City and testing out all their speakers and subs and then agonizing on which setup to go with. Great video!
No BS Beard Reviews I vividly remember circuit city and their boom room I called it. It was cool to go in there, close the door and try out each set in there. We had cool employees at ours who'd come in and tell me turn it up more lol
I got my entire stereo system redone in my camaro a few months back. I got Kenwood everything and it sounds great! I hope all goes well with your stereo system
Man it's So great that you have these videos up, I just got me a 92 RS 25th Anniversary Camaro that I'm rebuilding and alot of the stuff I want to do to it you've already found and linked. And I greatly appreciate it.
@@beardedreviews I'm thinking that the maib problem is that the speakers mounted behind the sail panels might be too close to the ear to develop lows. I've had much better luck in cars with rear deck (package tray) mounted speakers. It sounds good, but could sound so much better with more low bass response.
there's not a huge difference in sound that you're going to be able to discern from a video clip. I'll do a before and after I install the subs and amp though. That one you'll be able to tell the difference
"Circle" speakers aren't better. Usually 6x9s have more low end. But really it depends on the level you are buying and the spot they are mounted in. I wouldn't say Kicker speakers are cheap either. They make some budget speakers. As well as high end. I agree Infinity speakers sound nice. Good tutorial though. I really wish I could buy a third gen Camaro right. These videos are as close as I'm gonna get right now.
Yea I have heard both sides on whether it's better or not. I have no idea, just figured I would try it. And yea, I just randomly mentioned kicker. I actually like their slightly higher end stuff. I had their coaxials in my truck and loved it
@@beardedreviews You have to hear with your own ears. The 6x9 of what you have is better. Stop listening to what everyone says. I could tell you that those infinity sound like nothing compared to better speakers, but don't listen to me. I've ran the Kappa speakers and Kappa Perfects, components and Perfect subs and was not impressed.
@@beardedreviews I've mite go crazy put 6.5's Components in the dash. Mite go with either three brands of speakers the Hertz, JBL's or Infinity's. The doors will have two of pairs of component speakers sets for driver side and passenger and kick panels of component too and the rear the 6x9's components too.
If you live in a colder climate with lots of snow I wouldn't recommend, I live in CO and daily an s10 with my bird as my project/fun car, but that thing does not like the snow lol
Bearded Reviews No problem man😝 the 4*6 speakers you chose have a sensitivity of 95db so they are probably really bright? Right? With the huge front window and dash you are going to get a lot reflections which will make it even brighter. When I set my 92 up many eons ago I purchased speakers that had a 3db difference in sensitivity to give the car a built in "hardware" audio profile that would allow your rears to be heard a lot clearer and not be overpowered by the fronts. I think it will also make tuning your setup a lot easier. Also, unless you are going for high SPL levels and not music clarity, you only need one 10" or 12" sub. IMHO Great work and thanks for the awesome content!
How do these sound compared to the stock ? Also are they loud and have some base not too much because i like to be able to hear my music loud and not being stopped due to it having more bass
I got an 87 formula with dual 8in infinite subs in a sealed box (don't knock the 8's, everyone thinks I have 12's, no joke and the box fits perfect in the small trunk space) and have kicker speakers all around (mid level kickers). The kickers were on a steal of a sale otherwise I agree about infinite. My 6x9's have almost no bass so I'm adding fast rings to try and solve it before I upgrade to Infinite. There are a lot of gaps around the speakers though so I'm going to try flex seal in all the gaps to better seal the speakers. Is there a follow up vid for the sound? I'm wondering if the lack of bass is the brand or the mounting. I know my kickers aren't the top of the line but they are loud as hell and have good highs. Good vid.
With the infinity, I made a spacer out of MDF for the bottom of the speaker to mount more flush to something, but they didn't have any clearance issues on the top or the mounting holes or anything
hey what's up, yea so the driver side one is much harder to get in than the passenger one, but I got some quarter inch MDF board and a jigsaw and cut a little spacer out of it to prop the speaker so it would fit snug
Hi I was wondering the same thing as I have been looking around and finding nothing good fits in there. Is the MDF used to get the magnet to fit around the air duct?
do you know how i can get my rpm on the cluster i have an 89 camaro an im puttin a tbi 03 5.3 with the msd ls box ..the msd has a rpm wire on it but can i get it to work with the stock cluster rpm gauge
Are you going to keep the head unit or go aftermarket? I have a 91 camaro and my back passenger 6x9 speaker only crackles (I believe it’s the head unit because they are new speakers) and I was wondering what you had planned for a replacement! Thanks!
Question I have a 91 camaro with the same fuel. Pump but the motor is a. 5.7 out of a suburban every thing is hooked up except the fuel due to it being a v6 it was converted to a v8 I need help finding a non electric in tank pump
aye brother i have question about your speakers. I own an 82' with the stock delco speakers but they're blown. I was going to cop the kappas on your recommendation but i wanted to check you about it first. I'm not an audiophile either, i just want some descent sound and solid bass. anyway my question is did you grab those because your putting in subs? is the sound proper without them? cause I'm not really interested in doing that to my trunk but i still need some good loud strong bass.
Yea I don't think you would get much low end out of them unless you put a 4 channel amp and pumped some power into those 6x9s. You could get some pretty decent low end with an amp on them, but with the amp in the head unit, I doubt you would get much bass
Those Infinity speakers don't fit right in the dash. The one on the driver side has the duct work in the way. The magnet sticks out too much. I tried installing those last year. And I had to buy some Kicker ones instead.
when you mounted the rear speacker you just gave it a good go with your electric-tool - did this with mine the same a few weeks ago and mine messed up the screw hole it just went in and kept turning :D and i was doing it softly by hand >.
Jacob x flow master makes a single in dual out transverse muffler that fits these cars. They sound decent too. I have exhaust videos of mine, also a 3rd gen

haha I had a buddy with those in an old cutlass!!

I have Rockford Fosgate 4x6s in the dash of my '86 camaro and 6x9s in the back. It sounds amazing!
I put Alpine 4x6 and 6x9 speakers in my iroc. Also a Kenwood head unit. Sounds way better than stock. Could still use a sub though.
yea letting your speakers do the mids and highs and letting a sub handle the lows really makes a difference!

Kickers “high end” stuff can’t touch what infinity or Polk is putting out. As far as build quality and clarity st high volumes, they just fall short.

I sprayed sound deadner instead of the dynamat worked out great 👍
Is it possible to put a 5x7's component speakers in dash to replace the 4x6 speakers?
It would be pretty difficult. I've thought about it, but I would have to hack into the dash quite a bit to achieve it

I just got an 85 Z28. Loving the videos. This one especially, as it gives me some idea of what order all the interior panels should go back in! Haha!
They “tickle my fancy” lol
Great vid, with excellent ideas, love the Dynamat, as "rattely" as these cars can be. Thanks.
I cut those harness smh should've checked to see there's a solution nice video sir!
Should I get a 3rd gen for my first car?

No bro
I love my trans am but is not a everyday drive
Is more like a weekend car to enjoy the summer with the t-top off!
If you're good with tools. Fuel pump and tpi fuel injector replacement might be required. It's not really hard, just time consuming to do it right.
Did you need those adapters for the front speakers as well?
Do you have any videos of how these sound compared to the stock ??!
I can use the Radio. Building a Wylie Coyote Hard Castle TV show kit... It had that radio in it.. Still trying to find some Champ 500 rims...
This work in 3rd gen Pontiac Firebirds to right?
How did these sound compared to the originals ?? Are they much louder and clear ??
Love your videos, just got an 85 firebird. How do the speakers sound without an amp?
Would take all the interior out to do all diamond mat will sound better & your doing subs to
that's coming shortly
Are the back panels mesh to allow sound or are they solid plastic
Did your quarter panels not come with an alcove of felt material to house the speakers? Mine did, just wondering if you removed it
Are the speaker adapter clips the same for the dashboard speakers?
Did the subs rattle the hell out of your louvers?
Dude I hope you staggered the sensitivity of the fronts to the rears?
lol well I'm not an audio expert, so I don't really have any idea what that means. Help me out here lol

How much did the whole sound system end up costing you in the end ?
the magnets on the 4x6,s were too big right
Did you have to do any cutting or mods to fit the dash speakers?
No I did not have to cut the dash at all
@@beardedreviews thank you sir!

yessir! thanks for checking the video out

did you try prying under the speaker lip?
There is a Facebook group named Mullet Militia that are diehard 3rd gen Camaro guys.
