“There’s always something bigger behind whatever you’re doing.” American Idol’s Jason Castro came to a reality of his own that having a relationship with God didn’t mean he had to conform to religious servitude.
Music became a channel of release and in this discovery he found that it had the power to calm, to move or evoke emotions of any kind. He brought his talent to life by recognizing his love for something bigger and his passion to make not only religious music, but good music. A dear hobby and a mission to find the rhyme and reason of life became something much more than he ever imagined. As he memoirs his journey, the medley Somewhere Over the Rainbow comes to mind and he sings the message about dreams. That if you dare to dream, it will come true.
Super adore him A loving father, a Faithful husband and a servant of all. Such a wonderful man GOD bless him and his family... 💖
Really dedicated Christians are always such nice and well-meaning people. Out your faith in God and everything else comes naturally!
Love to hear young people talk about their faith. God Bless!
His performance of Hallelujah is still to date one of my favorite performances ever on American Idol, and it was even before I knew he was a Christian.
Thank you for your testimony Jason! We need more young leaders like YOU!
What a heart...this boy blessed me today
I remember seeing him sing that. I'd never heard it before and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
How great to see people humble themselves before our Savior. Truly inspiring.
You are a beautiful soul, with a giving heart, I have never met you nor will I ever get the opportunity but who knows. Your video is such a inspiration, your eyes light up the room, and your inner happiness is clear to me and I know that it is God inside you, thank you for blessing me today
So glad to see this. I was watching Idol the night he got voted off. He is the only one I have ever seen who looked relieved. He had such an amazing expression on his face. I remember it so clearly and even saying, "he is glad, he is really glad it is over!" Now I hear him on christian radio and he is blessed. Thank you Jason, good job!!!
Jason if you ever have the chance to read this, God Bless you. You are being used by God to speak to others. What a gift you have! Hallelujah is my most favorite song and to hear you sing it with such meaning, is realy moving. Thank ou Jason for sharing ths video, and I hope someday We hve the pleasure of meeting :) As i sit here in Panera crying, I am thanking God for my life, and all of my blessings. Praise God
jason castro is awesome! it was great seeing this video! how hes christian. and how he keeps god in his mind when he makes his music. and i watched him on american idol. i voted him and stuff. i thought it was awesome when he told the story about the hallelujah song he did. his real mindset on it. one of favorite songs he sings :) thank you iamsecond for making these videos! they are truly amazing and inspiring :)
Love this one! It's so encouraging to see our young people talk about their faith.
I came across this video while looking at Montell Jordan's Shake Heaven video. Everything that Jason said has touched my heart in a profound way. I'm 25 yrs and have been a professed Christian but I haven't always lived the life of a Christian. After accepting Christ into my heart I kinda fell into the world living my life like I wanted, instead of living the life God wants for me. I didn't understand what it was to be a servant of God. But now I'm beginning to understand. So Thank you.
Jason, you are beautiful in Christ.
I so support your decision. Its so easy to do and its so encouraging to me to hear you say that man. God's Peace.:)
SO great to be an individual, God made only one you. ..
AMEN, Jason...have felt your Christian love since I watched that performance...God bless you.
I remember you from Idol and you sang Hallelujah song and it was beautiful. Bless you!
This video almost made me tear up. It's been so long since I heard someone talk something nice about religion... makes want to believe again.
"For God so loved YOU that He gave His only begotten Son that should you believe in Him, you shall not perish but have everlasting life."
-John 3:16 (The Bible in a nutshell)
If you ever want to talk, find a good, bible based church. Not a Catholic one (no offense, but it's by grace we are saved through faith, not rituals) or Mormons or other so called branches of Christianity. Try United Methodist, Brethren in Christ, something that has roots in Mennonite perhaps that puts Christ first. I don't know you, but I will pray for you. I don't know you, but ask that you know I am working on the second greatest commandment: loving my neighbor as myself (and that includes you!).
God is always first im my life!!! God bless you Jason Castro!!!!!!!!!!!!
Praise God for all He is doing in and through your life, Jason. You inspire and encourge us through your music, life and love for our Lord, Jesus Christ. I had the pleasure of meeting you during the "Proof of your Love" tour and I can tell you are a very humble man and loving man.
God bless you and your family always!! In Christ, Your sister Regina
well said young man. I saw you on Idol- i never watched the show-but one night i flipped the channel onto Idol and you were singing 'Over The Rainbow'-your voice blew me away. I was hooked -not on idol-on you and your voice. And now with your voice you sing the praises of God-this is a very eloquent piece. I have been watching you and listening to you- i wanted to see you when you came on tour to Cincinnati but, alas, i couldn't afford the ticket-maybe next time
Jason Castro reminds me of my cousin King David.
Thank you Mr. Castro. God has huge plans for you . Be ready .
Amen you are an awesome child of God our King Jesus our Savior and Lord. You have a beautiful music gift. I love the Hallelujah song.
I love this man

I was theree for u wen u were practicin at lakepointnt church
a while back I had made some mocking comments about him which i knew it was real wrongful and ungodly of me I knew it was satan putting that in my mind but this man is truly genuine and a true man of God he seems real humble and Loves jesus which is the greatest love and true love we set our life for....I think his reason of not making Idol is because the show is world worship and idolatrous in its nature they worship baals worshiping singers as if their God...the world operates under satan
Amen ,nice voice
Love him
Wow. well said.
The world will always have bad things to say about (true) Christians. Don't be discouraged! Romans 3:23/Romans 5:8/Romans 6:23/Romans 10:9/Romans10:13 God will not leave or forsake us. The shadows of death got nothin' on us.
you should :). he is the way,the truth and the LIFE
please pray for the 19
make for me that song in youtube Jason its inspiring "Hallelujah"
wow!
He reminds me of Samual who won the glee project
Yay! :)
@spacitydrummer4JC true that it is universal now, but not originally. The Hebrew words "Halal" and "jah" (the short form of yaweh or jehovah) literally means give a high praise to the God of Israel, the God of the Bible. Together those two words make hallelujah.
Therefore it wasn't 'always' a universal. Jason is merely referring that the word had the original intent of that fact. In the ancient days only the Jews used that word.
Jesus is first! :)
What's with the black chair?
i need the lord i need to be reborn i lived a life of sin and it realy hurts you think about it who is the real murderer who kills the body or who kills the soul? i realized i need to be dead fo my body my lusts and sinfull passion for me to live for the spirit
Very attractive man
@SynerJetics Im sureee he doess lil buddy
That song is not a Christian song. Lyrically speaking, it's not a praise song at all. And I absolutely love that song and I absolutely love Jesus, but THAT song is NOT a Christian praise song. And Jeff Buckley did it better. Don't believe me? Look it up!
:) Miss, God has created us with more power and value and preciousness than we realize. As soon as a soul sings a song (any song) with the love of Jesus in their heart and praise for Jesus as their intention...that song becomes a Christian song. And the song can even be full of sorrow or anger, or some other emotion...the beautiful part is that our Father God sees the intention of our heart...and He alone understands that we are looking to reach Him and receive from him whether his love, his joy, peace, patience, his goodness, his kindness, his gentleness, his faithfulness, his self-control....his being. At these very moments that song is not only a Christian song...it is gospel music...it is the good-news wrapped in note and chords and rhythm.
...but I understand what you mean! Just life is so beautiful when we are not so literal.
be blessed
i believe you
