      Any country that uses a "policing" system faces this 🤷🏻‍♀️ which is most at this point. If we all realize we are more capable and faster at taking care of our own emergencies then they'd be out a job so they get really butthurt if we do their job for them and better than them. That's why this is so common in North America and places like North Korea. Heavy police presence means you are supposed to, like, worship the work they do, not do their jobs. It's sickening that they'd rather we die waiting for their arrival than do what they're too slow and inefficient to do

    All charges should be dropped, and there should be no prohibition order against this hero after the case is closed either. Theres 2.2 million legal registered firearms owners in Canada all standing behind this guy.

    So basically the proposed alternative was to let the robbers get into his home, beat him and steal his things? What do you do as a victim in the meantime? Offer the robbers a cup of tea before or after they attack you? Should you thank them on their way out of your house? Or can you also get charged for disorderly conduct if you don’t thank them for terrorizing you and your family?
    This is ridiculous, I hope this guy gets a medal for getting rid of a dangerous criminal after exercising his legitimate self defence right!

    Criminals have more rights than law abiding home owners in Canada. At most there might be a case of mishandling a firearm but I doubt that would stick in a court of law.

    This is so crazy. It seems like it's ok to be killed in your home by an intruder who is there to rob you and do you harm but it's not ok to defend and protect you and your family inside your home from an intruders and robbers.     I once almost got charged for punching a guy out that I found inside my house. The guy came at me too. I had to fight to not be charged, and the guy didn't get any charges whatsoever.

    This happened in Quebec and it was a police raid... they didn't announce themselves... one cop was killed... home owner was not found guilty.

      He did get charged for illegal firearm possession though... probably the same for this case. Also in Canada you can use equal force not escalate. If they had firearms then he was allowed to use a firearm in self defense... only police can escalate the violence ie you have a knife they use a gun... you shove them they taser you.
