3:22 - that isn't engine failure but the wings. They kind of losing lifting power when somebody makes em black
Thanks
And create tons of drag, most importantlu
If the radar equipment on the nose of the aircraft is damaged by enemy shells, the radar is disrupted and loses its function.
Friendly aircraft are not visible on the radars of American aircraft. and on American-origin aircraft, gun distance = 800 meters / vertical targetting - ensures you get the best results.
I had so much fun watching, thank you. Meanwhile, lighning seems to be a very difficult plane.
Thanks Erginex
I guess that's the difference between a plane built to intercept strategic bombers and absolutely nothing else (EEL), and other aircraft which may have been interceptors at first, but very soon received air superiority and even ground strike capabilities (MiG-21, F-4).
Also yes, stock ADEN/DEFA is fine when you're fighting at sub 1000 km/h (sub 700 mph I guess?) and 400 - 500m engagement distance; but with faster planes and longer gun engagement distances, they become quite hard on you.
Cheers matey
The Mig 21 was even worse armed gunwise for air to air engagement, less guns, less ammo, and lower muzzle velocities whether its the 30mm or the 23mm. Ironically in game though the 23mm is made a bit more useful by it doing far more damage than the ADEN.
@@ukoctane3337 The point I made was that the MiG 21 was a flexible enough platform that it could be made into a fighter and even fighter-bomber. The EEL wasn't.
Oh my gosh, you didn't bang your tail on the runway taking off and you used a steeper climb than I did. It took me 5 tries to get the plane in the air without striking the tail. In addition, I would not fly that plane unless I was using the SAS mode. The plane is virtually uncontrollable without it. Much like flying a jet Spitfire. There are two stages for SAS, the first stage is just keeping the plane controllable. The second stage is for level flying and, then there is manual mode. Imagine my surprise to find I could make the plane red-line in a straight level flight at sea level. It started to re-line at about 1300kph. Well, that was my experience flying the Lightning. It does have an incredible roll rate, and you can turn at very high speed and not snap a wing. Very impressive there too. Just thought I would let you know my experience with the plane. Just remember, don't be afraid to use the SAS mode. I should mention, I have mine spaded a lot more then it appears you have yours. I still need the boosters and the g suit. Plus I still need the red rockets (or whatever they are called.). I brought this up because I noticed your speed was so slow at 99% thrust. Whereas I said, I was red lining at 1300 kph in level flight. I think you will enjoy the plane more once you get spaded more. One thing too about my take offs. Before I knew it, I was doing 500 kph on take off. Funny thing is, I did not snap my landing gear at that speed.
Cheers, I use flaps for takeoff
@@CptToastman I did too. Still had the tail strike. I used -5 on the elevator and that worked. -4 worked better. -10 did no good. LOL In addition, have you got it anymore spaded. 1300kph on level flight about 500m off the ground was pretty impressive to me.
In my opinion, being able to "drive" into the hangars (if they're not destroyed) could be a great anti-strafe measurement. Of course making them at least bulletproof.
Hey Toast, I absolutely love your videos. Good luck in the future.
Glad you like them!
FYI the Lightning has a radar gyro but unlike the Swift/Hunter gyro, it's not automatic and has to be manually activated with the "lock radar target on" binding. Without that you're basically shooting blind. On the downside, in my experience the radar seems incredibly reluctant to actually lock on, even at high alt. It's all part of the Lightning pain.
Yeah I pressed that button but I didn't think it did anything.
@@CptToastman For some reason it works perfectly in test flight but is hopeless in game.
I really have never seen a 100% British plane that looks good lol
Griffon? Tempest II? Sea Venom?
The spitfire is one of the most elegant aircraft in the game especially the griffon. Also the hunter has really nice lines.
self sealing fuel tanks work? your fuel stopped flashing red at about the 9:00 mark, didnt realise that was a thing in this
I didn't realise
Yeah they work, but not always, it depends on how bad the damage is.
If it makes you feel better, I can't aim the guns on this either.
The prototype of lightning went supersonic on a vertical climb. There’s no way the lightning in WT is realistic in terms of flight performance.
I doubt this
WT have updated the Lightning f6 recently. And those testing on the forum maintain that its under performing still.
@@kingofnowhere508 until its the fastest jet in the game there will always be people claiming that. Were the recent changes in the patch notes?
I dont understand why so many people love this plane. I mean, love whatever you want, but its ugly as hell.
@Space Balloon Yeah probably. I mean, you'd know right?
super,smashin,bloody GREAT!
dp you think gaijin will give realistic radars or do you think its a sealed fate now with the f4 having the oddly shaped cartoon almost looking radar plastered on the actual radar screen?
and its on the electric lmao, idk what other aircraft have this. but i hope by the time f-14s and sukhois come in it looks better without it being plastered on a round radar screen, also what do you think of RIO mode for twin seat modern jets in the future?
Rio mode would be good but I'm not sure they will do it.
'I bet that's painful to watch'
Yes, yes it was xD
03:02 HAHA HIS ISNT WORKING IETHER LOL
IN THE LIGHTNING WE SHOULD BE ABLE AS SOON AS WE GEAR UP POINT THE NOSE TO HEAVEN AND BURN AT MACH 1 TO 80 + K FEET,BUT NOT IN THIS GAME OH NO
Nah, mate. That's always been propaganda. The F.6 could get up to mach 1 at sea level, go vertical and then stall out at 60000ft, level off at 55000ft then cruise on up to mach 2.2. It can do that in WT. Just like the operation manual for the real thing says.
You know it can outturn a mig21 at around 1000km/h in WT, right? It makes drakens sweat
I haven't flown it since the latest patch, I'll try it again sometime.
the only goodlooking thing on the plane in my opinion is the radar placement
Cpt Toastman I think you are overreacting. The Lightining is not that bad. The guns' velocity is a bit slow but that's probably due to its high top speed. The missiles are better than people believe. It's a very capable aircraft but it's a high altitude interceptor, not a fighter.
When did you start putting commercials in your videos?
I only ever put them at the start and at the end RUclips must have put them there.
@@CptToastman That is what I thought too. And recently too. As it was not there before.
Bots still have unlimited energy?
yup, have ever seen a bot stall? the game gives them extra energy when they need it.
Ooooo, look at that fancy cockpit! Could it be that all "the other youtubers" are out there to create hype and get clicks instead of actual useful advice...
maybe 🤔😎
Do you use a joystick?
Yes bud, My equipment is in the description :)
What’s your set up. I’m planning to get into sim
I did a video on my setup a few weeks ago matey :)
Stalingrad is an awful map in SB, it's just rife with spawncamping and AF bombing.
Yup :(
My favourite SB map is Dover. Got the English Channel between both sides. Ample opportunity to intercept and kill... Or for the enemy to do it to you :D
OK so why isnt the radar working 80% of the time?
I'm not sure maybe it's something to do with altitude?
@@CptToastman Its weird cause I felt like you were like 1km behind them and the radar didnt pickup anything. I dont know what altitude will do to a radar.
What scale was your radar set to?
@@TheAidiwashere if you're flying really low the ground can interfere with the radar, however he wasn't flying so low that I'd think this was a problem
"This is how EEL should feel like." eh.. You know you are comparing most likely the fastest aircraft on deck in the game (FGR) with a piece of crap that is underperforming at low alt according to the manual gayjin provided as a source ("Official manual") . Also they said Lightning is overatted, overhyped, blah blah blah. And those records were done with stripped down aircraft with minimal fuel.
In a recent update, Gaijin cam up with the brilliant idea to not only cut profits in half in EC but also to remove all spawn points earned during a game. The one on radar with two bars is the enemy. The one with one bar is friendly.
Gaijin halfed the rewards in EC?
So it wasnt just my imagination, i played a lot of italy tier 3 lately and the SL rewards were ridiculously small.
Why do sim games start with 0 SP now? Is it a new feature or a bug? That pushes people to start with bombers.
Added in the recent mini patch, hopefully it's just a bug.
@@marrioman13 nope, gaijin said it wasnt a bug
I think the bug was that a lot of people were regularly getting their spawn point reserve deleted. Maybe Gaijin couldn't fix it so they just decided that no one gets a spawn point reserve.
I'm glad it's the case. It's better for everyone to have to start with lower BR aircraft. It encourages the use of attackers too which I used to rarely ever fly.
I guess it stops people starting in the F9F8 with 4 missiles
try to lock them on radar
I did press the button but I didn't notice any change, I didn't see the green box thing.
