What load is a Aerolift AL 270G suction cup really able to carry?

What do you need to watch out for when using suction cups?
Before we use suction cups for a vacuum lifter, their safe working load is tested. That is because we do not rely on the statements made by a manufacturer. We only use our own test results because we wish our customers to be able to work with their vacuum lifting device.
In this video, you can view our test with an NBR AL 270G suction cup made by Aerolift on a sheet of float glass.
For use on a vacuum lifter, a safety margin of a factor of two is required. In other words, the figure calculated needs to be divided by two. In some of these tests, frighteningly low figures emerge.
