God I remember that NBA theme song.....wow the memories,my man...thank you......I had just turned into a teen on May 4 that year...........just turned 53 yesterday.........................TAKE ME BACK.....PLEEEEEEEEASE....
@@kprokop I never said anything about NBC and the NBA...That is MOST DEFINITELY the NBA theme music from CBS in the `80s.......ABSOLUTELY--just went through one of my Dr.J/Barkley rookie tapes from `84 and that theme song was everywhere on CBS with Dick Stockton/Musberger,and Co...........100% CBS show
Thank you for the tip....I watched this one all those years ago...remember due to the Charlie Lau tribute. caps mvp Thank you for uploading. It is always appreciated to see these historic MLB broadcasts.
Thanks for uploading. I had been looking forever for the game where Sweet Lou dropped a very audible F-Bomb at the home plate ump, I knew it was from '84.
THanks for this rare upload. No one else has this game, I'm sure. Anyway, I understand you do have the June 1984 NBC broadcast of Sweet Lou's last game as a player. If so, and if it's full, I'd like to see this game put up. Of course, I also look forward to whatever MLB games you'll be putting up down the road as well. Thanks again.
The '84 Yanks were almost two different teams. The first half team was old and hurt and finished 36-46 and nearly got Yogi fired. Then he got permission to bring up prospects like Pagliarulo and Joe Cowley, and Jay Howell became an unbeatable set up man to Righetti. They beat the hell out of everyone in the second half, going 51-29, but no where near enough to catch Detroit.
WOW! So great to see an NBC GOTW emerge, especially one with the Yankees. Just out of curiosity do you have any local Yankee broadcasts from this period? Regardless, as a big Yankee fan THANK YOU for making these treasures available!
@@capsmvpgreat game post,I'm a long time collector, have a large collection of"original broadcasts"many with the original commercials, ranging from mid 70's to mid 90's,MLB,NBA,some college basketball,NFL,but mainly MLB,NBA,would love to know what u have, would love to trade, looks like ur a Yankee fan,I have a large amount of yanks games, also Lakers, but many many of all teams in both MLB,NBA,I can post my email, looking forward to hearing from you, thanks
Growing up with those Lite beer commercials are just as hilarious today as they were back then. "It's the creature!!!!"
... I'm STILL laughing !
Never saw this game on TV because I was there that day. Great time.
10 year old me was also at that game and the extra inning game the previous night.
Funny how they all say they were there that day in 90% of the posted vids on here. Want a cookie for your historical feat? lol
amazing quality, some of the best I've seen relative to its age.

NBC didn't do NBA until the ealry 90s. The NBA theme song was still many years away.

Old school baseball love it I think baseball was better back then
This was the😊 year of the Detroit Tigers. They took off like a 🚀.
Thanks for posting this game. I love too that you included the ads. It's like a time machine.
Lou Piniella ejections are always fun !
Could hear every word.
Vin musta had a senior moment referring to ' the PADRE dugout ' in the top of the first inning. Frame 24:35 lol
Joe and Vin were the best broadcast team ever. Period.
18:28 it’s insane how close they stood next to each other lmao
Strange seeing Donnie Baseball batting out of the #6 spot.
Great post! Any more early season 1984 NBC GOW posts would be greatly appreciated.
I do have June 16 1984 Orioles at Yankees Lou Piniella's last game.

If Mauch is still managing the Angeles they win a terrible West this year.
Did Vin have to stand that close
Niekro isn't coming to a complete stop holding the baserunner he is balking.
Did they not call balks in the 80s?
7:57 Roger Clemens first big-league game.
Baseball was soooo much better then
2:46:08
this is actually May 19th 1984 and do you have a complete list of your stuff at all?
Thank you for the correction. I was 10 and went to that game. I have a lot of games.
FINALLY a new Angels game from ‘84. First new one I’ve seen on the circuit in probly 15 years. Thanks man!
Could vin and joe get any closer? 😅
