I have the full set up with the HT-A7000, the SW5 sub and these surrounds. Yes, it is really expensive. I just watched Top Gun 2 and some of the scenes blew me away. Better than anything I have ever heard in a movie theater. For me, they are worth the price of admission. I typically only use the surrounds for movies. Other than that they get stored in the closet. It keeps the living room clean looking so I don't have to hear my wife complain.

i have the A5000 soundbar & sw3 subwoofer and just bought the RS5 yesterday and am very disappointed. firstly, i could hardly get any sound from either speaker. it was though they weren't even on. Only when i went in and played with the speaker configuration settings was i able to get noticeable output. Before that they were wayyyyy too low. I agree, they're not worth $700. I had to turn off the spatial configuration to get a louder experience from the rear speakers. If i listen to the spatial demo, they sound loud with the tones, and even when testing 360 Real Audio but that's only for music. But i don't listen to music on my TV. It it worked on movies too i would subscribe to it. I may return them. I want a real surround speaker experience. With the subwoofer set to max and rear speakers set to max, the speakers can hardly be heard. The soundbar and subwoofer are great but the rear speakers leave a lot to be desired. Can anyone recommend a better pair of rear speakers that will work with my soundbar??

I have the rs3 with hta5000 and smaller sub. For the most part they sound super clean and immersive. I'd like to upgrade my sound bar but will prob just wait until Sony comes out with a new one because the 5000 is pretty much the same as the 7000 so it's better value and still sounds pretty dang great imo

Who knows the feeling. Even after you've bought something you research on. Yeah bought the A7000 at black friday as I wanted a great soundbar. I did consider upgrading with rear speakers this summer but fate was I stumbled upon a set of RS3S for less than third(!) the price of new and only used a couple of months by previous owner. That is a deal you have to hit when it's there so I did. Now I have the "trouble" of figuring out the best positions and how to power them. That wouldn't be an issue with RS5. So far not overly impressed with them. I think the soundbar does a decent job on its own - at least when you sit in the sweet spot. Oh well. I'll keep the RS3S for now as it didn't cost me a fortune. But I'll continue to keep an eye out for RS5 - can be I'm lucky again. These days you can really do some nice 2nd hand deals as many people struckle with economy - fortunately I'm not and while I have noticed a small decline in "free fundings" I'm still doing just fine.

I feel like my rs3s stand out and are super crisp but I do have nice stands for them to be ear level around my couch. So far they're cleaner sounding than my hta5000 with the overall crisp sound so 🤷

I have the full Sony flagship setup and I must say that I am SOOOOOO annoyed of the anemic sound produced by the SR5’s. I truly expected more…
I maxed out the rear volume and they still struggle.

Go into the sound bar setting and there's a section where you can manually adjust the speaker settings. Put up the rear surrounds to the max and if thats still not enough put the center sound bar into the negative range so you can then use higher volume levels. Just remember to switch it back to normal if youre going to watch a blu ray or something with real uncompressed audio.

I had an arc play 1s as rears and then Gen 3 sub and while it sounded really good I was extremely disappointed in surround 3D audio effects. I have heard the rs5s are a bit better and have an Atmos speaker, though I was disappointed in how quite the sound effects can be especially with music , movies not to bad . @joshdimovski4483 Год назад

@@RealityCheck4515 yeah don't Think there is much more you can do honestly the rs5s are very dependent on the content you watch , like with music there alright but with movies they might sound better. I actually don't mind having the 360 on can make it sound a Little less like a soundbar.
I have the ht a9s which sound similar to the rs5s but get much louder.
Maybe have the rs5s plugged in to Power so they aren't restricted by how much battery they have left . Marking sure they aren't too far from where you are listening might help as well .
In general don't Think there is much more we can do , they play more background noises and ambience in content . They could have done better with them though . !!!

Sony have messed up IMHO. They’ve made their premium sound-bars to be too wide to sit in between the legs of their Bravia screens. This means that if you don’t want to wall-mount your TV, you either have to have a bar infringing on the screen or have it under a shelf blocking the up-firing speakers. Lame! Thankfully these speakers partly address this issue and, combined with the A3000 and SW3, should be a good solution. Flip me, Sony 🙄
