There are many activist organizations that fund legal actions against people, spurious or otherwise, solely to enforce the will of the cult. That's all this is.
There's no lawsuit, it was just a letter threatening a lawsuit. The weirdest part was the threat of IIED. Any first year law student would laugh their butt off at that one.

It is easy to be a fan of a team that has a habit of buying world series.
I recently started following Alyssa on RUclips. What a bunch of vitriolic hatred she is spewing. This definitely isn't someone I want to follow or get writing advice from. The best part of a defamation claim is that one, one syllable word destroys their whole claim - truth. Truth is what's referred to as an "absolute defence". So she boned herself, and her lawyers doubled down. This case has zero chance of survival. She tripped over her OWN WORDS. So she'll either have to admit that she said what she said and the case will die, or she'll have to admit that it was all made up for attention, be outed as a liar to anyone who is a "fan", and the case dies because you can't claim defamation over false information that YOU provided.
One way or another, this case dies.
if it does go court, it won't end well for her, plus since she's employed with Kotaku that will also not be a good look for them either.
