Thank You for the kind words at the beginning… a lot are affected in my area, the scammers are already here trying to take advantage of the situation, it’s so sad!!! We’re all banding together to help all in need but everything helps!! Lost a really close childhood friend in the candle factory 🏭
Brother, our church has been helping. Our family donated all of our Christmas money to Kentucky Disaster Relief through our church organization. Thank you for doing this. This is not a wealthy part of our state and every penny will help.
Beginning and end of your video.... you are such an admirable soul. God bless you for help with getting the message out for those in desperate need. Some of these people lost everything they had. For some, they won`t even have a table to sit down at for a Christmas dinner. God bless you sir, God bless you always. I hope EVERYONE here contributes.
My 10/22 use to do that, it wasn’t going into battery!!! If I lubed it I wouldn’t have any problems. Once it was truly broken in I’ve never had another problem with it!!!
Love your vids, great attitude, great audio, like the Picture in Picture cut in of the target and what great rifles you have. Excellent new build there. Subscribed.
My two cents as a novice benchrest competitive shooter: If your building a dedicated 50 yard benchrest .22LR rifle, you need a bolt action. No semi-auto, unless your particular competition requires semi-auto. A 40 power fixed focal scope, Mueller makes a 40x56 that's only about $260.00. Your using a Boyds stock, you need to remove the lower forearm plastic and replace it with a 3" wide benchrest forearm (I 3D printed one for mine). A 3" bag insert for your front rest. As far as your shooting position: don't touch the rifle. Make sure the rifle is firmly seated in both the front and rear rests. Use the elevation and windage on the front rest to sight with, not the rear bag. Put you thumb on the back of the trigger guard and trigger finger on the trigger and squeeze together. This is the only point of contact with the rifle. The lighter the trigger the better. Let the rifle naturally recoil in the rests. don't try to shoulder it to stop the recoil. Make sure to push the rifle forward in the rest to the stop each time. If you can, go to the Lapua factory in Arizona and have them run different lots of ammo through your rifle and buy a case of the best lot. My 22 will shoot 1/4" groups at 50 yards all day long. This shooting technique does not apply to high power rifles.
This is not for benchrest this is family fun. The friendly competitions 30 guys or less I do attend we do not practice the free recoil technique a bunch of thick headed military guys wanting to test not just rifle accuracy but their capability to use said rifle and be accurate with it therefor MUST be touching fundamentals.
Hello and greetings from Germany... Use the BX15 magazine, NO oil or grease on the slide, tighten the system screw with 30 lbs and try the SK HV... You should be very happy that way ;-) Thanks for that Work with the videos, keep it up.
My best thought here is your bolt isn’t going fully into battery for whatever reason. I have seen several 10/22s that will still fire slightly out of battery, but most will have a hammer fall but no primer strike as you describe. Barrel/extractor alignment can be a contributor, but your charge handl/recoil spring is likely the true root issue. I’d also spend some time with a file and sharpen or change the hook angle on your extractor to help get casings out of the chamber more reliably. It’s going to be a beast when you cure the stoppages!
I just built a Kidd 10/22 when I shot mine the first time it was doing like yours it would shoot one time then it wouldn't shoot so I worked my bolt and it felt like it was hanging some I then broke my rifle down and found that my guide rod that the bolt rides on was bent a little. I found that the rod wasn't seated in the back of the receiver it had jumped out of the hole for some reason and it got bent a little I straightened out the rod and mine shoots flawless now. I am not sure this is what yours is doing but it may be something to look at. I know one thing when you get the bugs worked out of that rifle you have one heck of a shooter.
Just got a used (looks new) Ruger 10/22! Ordered some mags and accidentally ordered a 5 round mag! Lol I'm going to keep it stock except for the Monstrum rail but some day I might get a light weight thick barrel. To make a Great Squirrel and Pest gun! Try Amazon, sometimes they have great parts at good prices. Thank you my Brother!
DATR, Nice rifle build, and you went " cheap " on the charging handle assembly .......shame on you!! But thank you for mentioning the folks in tornado devastation, especially Kentucky.
I am able to tell by hearing the bolt close, I wonder, did you reshape the bolt? It sounds as if the hammer is being hit by the bolt closing. That is good for a rifle that knocks cans over, but on paper it is no good. Reshaping the bolt is not that difficult but most folks do not do it. You have a real nice package there on the video. I like the adjustable cheek piece. Doc
With all the parts coming from different companies you've got a lot of variables. I'd look at your barrel alignment in relation to the extractor first. Top shelf components cut to tight tolerances are more apt to need fitting or tweaked.
Take the rifle apart and look for witness marks on the charging handle that should tell you if the handle is rubbing. if it is remove material where it is rubbing. Good luck
I would say your charging handle bolt spring is to heavy or extractor not properly lined up. I had same issues with my kidd. Switched to light spring and no more problems. Will it cycle and shoot high velocity?
I built a 10/22 takedown up a bit. Wont hold a candle to what you have built there. Is it your bolt not going all the way into battery? Is the extractor hitting something and holding the bolt open a bit? It will be interesting to see what you find.
Why are you pushing forward on the charging handle ? ( that's not necessary, and you may have damaged something doing so perhaps ?, just a guess like tweaked the rod of the handle maybe, big maybe though I suppose ). Check the alignment of your bolt / extractor with the barrel as it may not be closing the chamber enough and why you're having issues with light strikes and what seems like ejection problems too at times, also the chamber / throat of that barrel or your firing pin for burs or nics, you're dry firing that rifle every time after 10 rounds thinking there's an 11th one somewhere in there ( might be why your getting light strikes besides your suspicion of the charging handle assembly, could be the spring on it too, maybe too stiff or too light for some of those rounds depending the deviation between them ). I'd give it a little more time before pulling out those light primer strikes just for safety reasons. Would be interested to hear what your troubleshooting turns up with. Kind of odd to hear that charging assembly was " Short " as you said, you could try putting the factory one in there to test your theory, if it's compatible with your aftermarket bolt.
love your content and your videos are top notch, I however just cringe when you stick 2 knuckles od finger in that trigger guard I also have large hands but just the TIP good sir just use JUST THE TIP and you will see a difference
Sorry Eli....that's a big let down for your special presentation of this rifle. I'd send that charging handle back with some Vaseline rubbed all over it. They'll get the idea! Merry Christmas!

Hey, congratulations! I'm watching here from Brazil!
Oh wow that is amazing thank you for watching.

Kidd innovation components all the way! They have the best 10-22 parts bar none. Good luck with getting it right and keep the videos coming.

Buy the Kidd charging handle mainly for the spring kit🤨

I don't know if you're interested in opinions or not, but I would give the Tony Kidd charging handle a try. Great videos.

I think those groups are great even if it were a bold action! My hunch is the Barret is great quality.
Made a small donation. Every penny will help.
Awesome so right it ALL will help someone.
Take that rifle out varmint hunting!!! Wicked accurate!!! Love this channel. Listening to you get excited gets me going on these firearms.
Take the rifle apart and look for witness marks on the charging handle that should tell you if the handle is rubbing. if it is remove material where it is rubbing. Good luck

I think I got it figured out coming soon
Mr. Revolver guy
I've noticed in some of your videos a state of Ohio flag in the backround.
Where is range located?
Thank you
I built a 10/22 takedown up a bit.
Wont hold a candle to what you have built there.

ME catch the next video think I figured it out.
