My 5th grade students and I are studying Greece this week. From each country that we have studied, I have made a special dish. They are all willing to try souvlaki so that's what I'm going to make for them. I trust you Akis.... your recipes are always so wonderful.
I made this!!!!!!! It was awesome...sooo good. It has been a long time. There are no Greek restaurants where I live. Make this!!!! you wont be disappointed. Dont forget to have with a beer! Thank you Mr. Akis!!!
Here's another recipe we use at the Greek restaurant I work for,we sell about 500 chicken souvlaki's a day. Marinade: Chicken stock Freshly Squeezed lemons including zest Buttermilk Dried Oregano Garlic Powder Pepper marinate overnight
This is definitely the best brine I have found. I have used many too difficult to describe. This one is easy, straight forward and WORKS. I used chicken breasts which I do not like but that is all I had. Brined the chicken overnight and grilled it. SUPERB! Akis you are the man!

This was absolutely delicious! I made it with 3 chicken breasts. The extra skewers were served with Persian rice, and home made tzatziki sauce. My kids loved it! My husband thought the yogurt sauce was sweet....I must have put too much honey. But it's okay...I am thinking to turn the extra sauce into a marinade. Thanks Akis! Much Blessings...Happy cooking!

Oh man, that looks good. I haven't had souvlaki since I moved from Toronto where our favourite restaurants were in Greektown on the Danforth. Miss going there so much. There was a bakery that had the most amazing chocolate covered baklava. I will have to try making this when my BBQ becomes uncovered from the masses of snow and ice we got this winter.

Excellent pita. We specially liked the herbs. I divided it in 4 so we basically got two meals. Two chicken breasts, 4 skewers, 4 pitas equals 2 meals. Fabulous. Great sauce. I used my own homemade yogurt.
