You two guys should be proud of yourselves doing what you do. I love cycling and walking. I bought a bike last April. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with ME & and fibromyalgia, which got in the way of my simple pleasures. In November 2023, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Subsequently, I had an operation to remove the cancer on the 1sr Feb 2024, which appears to have been successful. However, in March, I was struggling to breathe, and after scans, they found I had blood clots on both lungs. So consequently my new bike has only done 90 miles. My mind says I can get out and go for a ride, but my body won't let me. So Sandy, I haven't written this for sympathy, but I'm just letting you know how much your videos help my mental state of mind, I feel that I'm on your journeys with you. Your videos give me a form of escape because I feel that I'm there with you. A great big thank you again for sharing your adventures with us. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is helped by you, and you never know yourself, just how much help you are to people like myself. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wanted to say something, but finding encouraging words seemed incentive. I do hope you will be able to get back on your bike or a bike which can be modified to make cycling more comfortable for you. Just getting on a bike and riding round the block can be very therapeutic. Sandy’s channel is an inspiration to us all because he has as you probably already know overcome some serious medical conditions himself.
I believe the body is quite remarkable in it's ability to self heal but sometimes it needs a jolt and we need to believe that things will get better for us. Some would call it the power of placebo perhaps? But I have found with a good balanced diet, (I try and stay away from crappy food as much as possible and often fail), good sleep and vit D supplements my body seems to be responding positively. There is so much in this world which can compromise us but Oshi, just remember YOU have a remarkable body too that CAN self heal given the right environment and mind set. Believe in this then start out with gentle exercise and build up slowly. Doctors are not always right! Go out on an adventure, it doesn't have to be anything big, just down to the gate and back is a start, be patient, give it time and be honourable and thankful to yourself and others and that will create the environment for your body to do it's best for you.
You are fortunate to have a life-long friend like Dave. Being friends (mates as you call them) from 5 years old, and still hanging out together makes him your brother, doesn't it? Friendship being your common mother. Fortunate indeed. May God keep you together a long, long time.
Brilliant Sandy. What a great trip and you two put me to shame. I'm 50 and can only manage 50 miles or so max at a time. Dave, you are a machine! 100 miles fully loaded on a touring bike in warm weather in hard going. My furthest day like that has been 54 miles over the Pennines and I was pretty wrecked, so good on you both 🙂 Sandy, thanks so much for posting again. I really enjoy the records of your trips. Bob looked like he could tell you a great yarn too, cheers Bob 👍 Best wishes to all of you from, Holywood, Co. Down 👍
Very inspiring video! One of your very best. It's so gratifying and downright comforting in these crazy times to be able to accompany you two jolly blokes on the bike trip. Everything fits. Very entertaining, superbly filmed, commented and edited. A thousand thanks!
What a lovely video and a well sheltered overnighter you had with great company for Bob bless him. Glad to see you were treated to good weather, beautiful scenery around the Kennet & Avon canal, Salisbury, beautiful New Forest, Lovely pubs and beer, I recognised the seaside area as being near to Poole and Studland down the road from Bournemouth, shame you couldn't stop a bit longer but maybe in future there might be a seaside one another time thanks for sharing another great video Sandy & Dave 🏖👏 👋
It would have been nice to have stayed in the New Forest another day or two but we both got a move on and realised we could get home in one hit. I shall be down this way again hopefully later this year
Lovely. Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us, very enjoyable drone footage and I like your commentary too. Much appreciated😊 🚴🚴🏽♂️☀️🍺🐴 🌳
Thanks Tony, we certainly covered the miles and on the way back fully loaded with camping kit and climbing over the highest hills in Wiltshire still managed to clock 101 miles and plenty of energy left in the legs:)
It was nice to see you and your mate Dave out on your bikes again looked a very nice day and sunny the videos were very good stay safe and stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
Cracking ride out Sandy, lovely weather for the adventure mate. In Deepest Hampshire, down my neck of the woods, and a good old peddle bud, hats off to you both n that count mate. Excellent video as always Sandy, keep them coming mate I find you work vert entertaining. Regards to one all all in the house of the Wiltshire Man. Moose
Came across your videos by accident Sandy but im hooked now. Im also in my sixties, struggling to get my fitness back and I can tell You I find you and Dave positively inspirational. Great video, really enjoyed watching it. Well done guys!
As I have mentioned before, your various excursions, by bicycle or motorcycle, always fascinate me due to the trips' scenery and your visits and videography of the multitude of historical places of interest. As an ex paratrooper I was pleasantly surprised by your short overview of Albourne and its link to the 101st Airborne Div., preparing for Operation Overlord...how I wish I could have visited all these wonderful historical places. Thank you Sandy👍🏻
Used to love going through Ringwood, Salisbury cycling onto Marlborough and onto Bath to see my aunt, then down to Radstock to her sister, gone a long time now. Lovely memories.
If I knew you were coming down that far I would have popped over from the Isle of Wight to say Hi , in fact I was probably cycling around the New forest at the time .
Hi there 👋🏻👋🏻. Lovely to see you and Dave as you pedal your way around Wiltshire. What a wonderful ride you took us on, beautiful scenery and just loved seeing the horses roaming free in the New Forest 💕💕. Your videos never disappoint Sandy ❤️❤️. Stay safe, well and happy. Judy 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Sandy , I have a Garmin varia radar/ light / camera . In some of those roads having a warning of the cars coming from behind may have be handy . You are more than welcome to borrow it
New hat? I wonder why they went straight through the hillfort? At 9:39 the van changes shape!!! 16:35 Avon run road, I know it well. I lived and worked in the area for 13 years.... You were blessed with decent weather, which makes a nice change!
The van changing shape was as it past through the stitch line of the 360 camera Bry, nothing strange but does appear so:). The Avon road was lovely, a nice ride:)
Nice adventure. Are there any public areas you could camp by the sea? That would be nice. Thanks for another adventure. So good to see you getting out. Take care Adam
Cor blimey mate, you took me back to my teens when I cycled around the New Forest with a friend. Happy Days 👍 ❤️🍻 All the very best to you, Dave and your families 👍🕺👍
Brilliant ride out. Next time give me a shout, I only live a couple of miles from Ringwood and would come over and had a pint with you both. Til the next time 😊😊
Thank you for another lovely video report Wiltshire Man! Lets keep doing it all the while we can to enjoy our wonderful surroundings ! At age over 77 years I 'took a tumble' off my bicycle about eight weeks ago! I had just stopped for a breather ,put my foot down through the long grass into a hidden hollow, lost balance, toppled over ! I never had a visible bruise or scratch on my outside but my inside mental condition was very badly beaten up & my confidence thoroughly 'punctured'! After a week I contacted Doctors, they suggested some sort of talking about it therapy!! I needed to do something ,not talk about it ! Seven days ago I was so fed up with myself as I was missing so much going on ,that I just dragged my bicycle out the garage , thought sod it , got on it just went into the forest & honestly didnt want to stop going even though my legs hated me I just kept needing to be out on my bike! ! Today I went out so I could visit some wild Orchids I see each year, THEY WERE THERE & SO WAS I !! I'm contentedly knackered this evening , sitting here having a beer or so reviewing my bicycle rides I'm so fortunate to have had in the past ! Tomorrow morning I plan to be up & out early, after a couple of pints of tea, to see what else is happening! Take extra care now everyone please?
Hi Robert, Talking therapy..What a joke.. What has the medical profession become? You did the right thing to take back your power and get back out on the bike, that is the best therapy there is. Well done to you:) I will now be extra careful putting my feet into long grass though:)
That’s a very good ride out Sandy to cover that distance. The South Downs way is that long as you know. 😉I’m not sure about the jelly babies & peanut butter. I guess it all goes down the same way so why not. Well done again
Fantastic effort both of you ! Wow 😮 that’s some going. The liquid refreshments must have helped 😂 great to see you both out and about enjoyed that one 👍♥️👌😉
A super adventure, thanks for taking us along with you. Being in the industrial north I have to travel some distance to enjoy scenery like yours. Usually Forest of Bowland or Yorkshire dales so it's always a two day ride and difficult to fit in. All the best mate.
Thanks Sandy, great adventure and thoroughly enjoyable. I must say your mate reminds me of Phil Daniels in some scenes, without the cockney accent #Bikelife 😁😁
That's a journey mate 👍 You both did well on that one...as tiring as it was. More lovely scenery seen in this one, thanks for taking us along on your adventure
A lovely little adventure! All went along smoothly until you came to that bloody great fence. A good workeout for the arms! Every journey should have a Bob!
Hi sandy, coming home on a Friday night to be greeted by this adventure what a lovely chill out. Memories of home an cycling in new forest as a kid came back, also spending a lot of time in Wiltshire an Hampshire working I must say you have really portrayed the areas covered nicely. Wonderful adventure but peanut and jelly baby rap .😊😊
Nice adventure. Are there any public areas you could camp by the sea? That would be nice. Thanks for another adventure. So good to see you getting out. Take care Adam
No camping is the rule in England unless it's on a designated camp spot so stealthy wild camping would be the order of the day
Cor blimey mate, you took me back to my teens when I cycled around the New Forest with a friend. Happy Days 👍 ❤️🍻
All the very best to you, Dave and your families 👍🕺👍
New forest was a lovely place to cycle through, I didn't hear a single owl though:)
@@WiltshireMan Owls are banned in the New Forest, they have got ponies instead 😍😍😍😆
