Before I saw the movie, these commercials made me believe that characters like Klaatu and Weequay were much more important to the story than they ended up being.
I'm 49 years old, and this compilation is tempting me to remove my Star Wars figures from their shelves and play with them in my backyard! 😄 These commercials really takes me back to those wonderful, magical years gone by.
I remember making an imperial bunker out of a styrofoam cup, after seeing the one they used in this commercial with the Biker Scout, because it seemed like such a cool idea. But no one told me they used a LARGE cup so the figure could actually stand up in it, so my Biker Scout was always hunched over, trying to fit in it. Anyone else notice the voiceover guy -- at least for sure in the first commercial -- is the same guy who did the Transformer cartoon narrations and episode recaps?
Dude I TOTALLY did the same thing, but for me I always tried to replicate the plastic bucket of similar size for the sarlac pit from the second commercial
you know I edited out the entire ewok battle and the movie doesn't even miss it? LOL I wanted that wicket doll so much...even though it started in the lat 70's...the early 80's star wars stuff can't be beat. After Jedi we still got the ewok movies and the two cartoon shows...not mention we either rented the movies or watched/taped them off tv... can't beat it. It may be popular today but the early 80's peak was awesome. Indy and spielberg on it's way...and all the cartoons n toys n cereal and tv shows...cowabunga dude!
Remember when kids played outside..............Now if a phone or electronic device is not in a childs hand they hate the world............Thank god i was a 80s child.
These ads Rule! From all three movies would love to see or know who all of the actors are etc.....like where are they kind of thing!! God to think besides Wil Wheaton hey I was a kid in the old Star Wars Kenner ads!!! That's an Idol or All-Star status there ha!!
They always made it look like so fun to play outside with the figures. But everytime I took them outside I was either bothered by another kid asking what I'm playing.Or I would get embarrassed if an adult or a cute girl from my class would go by..I was 11(almost 12)when Jedi came out..So I was getting a little long in the tooth..
I wonder how many people in the world have that Emperor Palpatine figure and how much it's worth. My dad threw away our Star Wars toys one time when we were moving. Sad. If only he'd known! We could have paid for college most likely.
How come the return of the Jedi commercials' audio is so much stronger Than the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK audio in the commercials. It's like that all over RUclips.? Somebody somewhere must have. had A strong vcr in the late 70s . Bring back beta
I was a HUGE fan of the Transformer toys. As for Star Wars, I had a couple ships, but wasn't really into the figures of the characters (I think I had a TIE fighter, and a B-Wing)
TheRubberStudiosASMR Nope. There was no Mon Mothma, Oola, Slave Leia, Ewok Village Leia, Janus Greejatus(2nd Imperial Dignitary), Giran(2nd Rancor Keeper), Ekelarc Yong(Y-Wing pilot), Yarna d'al' Gargan(8-breasted dancer), Wedge Antilles... I could list a good 20+ more, but I hope you catch my drift ;-)
5:37 "Rebo's got the beat" ... Going beyond the amusing line - the unfamiliar 'beat' in said advertisement now an apparent early red flag for movie soundtrack inconsistencies / butchery.
The problem was there was no really good bases or structures. Kenner could of designed a good Jabba Palace, or enemy bases or rebel bases which would have made some of the toys more interesting. GI Joe did a better job of this in my opinion.
3:06 Probably should have said "That you put together" instead of "You have to put it together". It just sounds so unappealing that way. 5:30 So the Empire's game is matching characters. 7:50 everyone's favorite Robot Chicken character
wrong figures names, wrong figures riding wrong vehicles. I love it.
I remember being disappointed that the Boushh figure didn't come with a big marble.
I always loved the end of the Star Wars theme after each commercial.
Before I saw the movie, these commercials made me believe that characters like Klaatu and Weequay were much more important to the story than they ended up being.
I love these commercials! Classic!
I had the b-wing. What a beautiful toy that was
Ouh yeah...our childhood...a long, long time ago... still great...
This video makes me want to sit on the floor in my pajamas two feet away from the TV and eat a big bowl of sugary cereal.
I'm 49 years old, and this compilation is tempting me to remove my Star Wars figures from their shelves and play with them in my backyard! 😄 These commercials really takes me back to those wonderful, magical years gone by.
Man the size of that thermal detonator @6:31 would surely also had destroyed Alderaan....
I used part of a small stick to keep my Rancor's mouth open, just like they did in the commercial. I still have it along with the Rancor monster.
I wonder where these actors are now? It would be cool to hear their recollections of the process.
Surprise!suprise! I'm Lando in disguise!
Those home made gocarts really made me smile. Awesome.
I remember making an imperial bunker out of a styrofoam cup, after seeing the one they used in this commercial with the Biker Scout, because it seemed like such a cool idea. Oh yeah good eye lol
Does sound like him. Victor Caroli, or something like that.
Dude I TOTALLY did the same thing, but for me I always tried to replicate the plastic bucket of similar size for the sarlac pit from the second commercial
The force is back and I got the goosebumps.
and this is the real reason why they had ewoks in the movie
you know I edited out the entire ewok battle and the movie doesn't even miss it? @@DJRitty welcome to the club ! I even named my first kitten cindel
My Childhood was awesome.
Emperial Shuttle was the nuts
No one did mass marketing in this scale until George came along.
May The Force Be With You!
Remember when kids played outside..............Now if a phone or electronic device is not in a childs hand they hate the world............Thank god i was a 80s child.
At 0:25, the Emperor looks like Rudolf Hess (mainly because of the eyebrows)
Luke and Lando: *fall in a pit of trash*
Lando: you OK Luke
luke: yea im.....*hears a roar*
" this tale will make you sorryer"
+Zayd Aldoais And Threepio falls like a child.
*Sorrier
8:22 - The B-wing commercial is the one I remember the most during Saturday morning cartoons. I really wanted to get one of those!
These ads Rule! From all three movies would love to see or know who all of the actors are etc.....like where are they kind of thing!! God to think besides Wil Wheaton hey I was a kid in the old Star Wars Kenner ads!!! That's an Idol or All-Star status there ha!!
Can someone make a version of the movies with the dialogue from these commercials?
"The Rebels won't 'tire until they see the last of the Empire!"
Take a shot for every time you hear those words you'll be wasted by the end of the video
That sure sounds like Victor Caroli as the announcer in that first commercial.
1:25 I love the homemade Biker Scout Post!
i wanna just live forever in the early to mid 80s is that possible?
that tie interceptor vader TOTALY WASNT YODA VADER
YOU put it together!
the emporer figure sculpt looks like Charleston Heston
the bunkers hit bad yea NO SHIT THAT THING FELL APART FROM A ROCK!
The imperial shuttle is huge
The Emperor looks like Charlton Heston.
I want the main Star Wars theme with the ending jingle from this commercial.
Lol...@ 1:41 it show Logray as Chief Chirpa and Cheif Chirpa as Logray...
they were like that but were switched later as were zuckuss and 4 lom
And Return of the Jedi is now officially 40!
2 & 1/2 minutes left on the cutting room floor in order to get a G rating! ;)
They always made it look like so fun to play outside with the figures. But everytime I took them outside I was either bothered by another kid asking what I'm playing.Or I would get embarrassed if an adult or a cute girl from my class would go by..I was 11(almost 12)when Jedi came out..So I was getting a little long in the tooth..

they still do that
+I Can Live Forever are you sure about that

+I Can Live Forever thats promising they seem so addicted to video games
(He finds your lack of faith disturbing...)
This is how children acted before they all started psyche meds. 💊
I wonder how many people in the world have that Emperor Palpatine figure and how much it's worth. My dad threw away our Star Wars toys one time when we were moving. Sad. If only he'd known! We could have paid for college most likely.
In what special edition did Prune face pilot the Falcon?.
AKA Nein Numb
This one....lol
If you look quickly there are two moments when you see Luke using a blue lightsaber, they decided to change it to green.
At the 6:30 mark a marble becomes a thermal detonator. 🤣
How come the return of the Jedi commercials' audio is so much stronger
Than the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK audio in the commercials. It's like that all over RUclips.? Somebody somewhere must have. had
A strong vcr in the late 70s .
Bring back beta
Un bellissimo ricordo!!
I was a HUGE fan of the Transformer toys. As for Star Wars, I had a couple ships, but wasn't really into the figures of the characters (I think I had a TIE fighter, and a B-Wing)
Before Nika Futterman voice Sy snootles in special edition
Do you think the offer ended?
Probavly no
Before naboo and coruscant were added
Why is this called 14 minutes of commercials when the length of the video is 11:31? I believe there is some sort of mistake.
0:45 any one notice Luke's new lightsaber is blue?
Did George Lucas write this dialogue as well?
Free him and keep me instead. Said 3PO never
@ 3:04, things getting a little rocky, Dennis?
Fuck it looks like they made a figurine for every character in the film
TheRubberStudiosASMR Nope. There was no Mon Mothma, Oola, Slave Leia, Ewok Village Leia, Janus Greejatus(2nd Imperial Dignitary), Giran(2nd Rancor Keeper), Ekelarc Yong(Y-Wing pilot), Yarna d'al' Gargan(8-breasted dancer), Wedge Antilles... Before Steven Spielberg remaster this
Before Steven Spielberg made Jedi rocks
And the band plays on
5:37 "Rebo's got the beat" ...
Going beyond the amusing line - the unfamiliar 'beat' in said advertisement now an apparent early red flag for movie soundtrack inconsistencies / butchery.
It was probably some music in a sample pack since the soundtrack for rotj probably wasn’t complete at the time
The problem was there was no really good bases or structures. Kenner could of designed a good Jabba Palace, or enemy bases or rebel bases which would have made some of the toys more interesting. GI Joe did a better job of this in my opinion.
Video is 11 minutes not 14!
nice
you all was have to put it to geather and also NERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMM 3:08
mutation oze:mutates Luke
luke: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh
3:06 Probably should have said "That you put together" instead of "You have to put it together". It just sounds so unappealing that way.
5:30 So the Empire's game is matching characters.
7:50 everyone's favorite Robot Chicken character
They don't make commercials like they used to.
What?! Back then chief chirpa and logray were switched
Supreme Dank Leader Bossk Only in this commercial. On the cards(front & back) they were correct(unlike Zuckuss & 4-LOM).
Do ''You Have To Put It Together''
Wil Wheaton.
00:26 L' imperatore!?!
9:28 - 10:00

My parents use to get me kenner toys all the time i think it was a good toy brand t

14 minutes, yea sure
Why you little evoke, how rude
They're imperials.
soooo cheesy. but so awesome in the 80's
Hi
Yeah, it cuts off suddenly too. What gives?
14 minutos en 11 minutos 31 segundos
'Return of the Jedi' Han Solo was crappy compared to the previous two.
14 minutes
11 mins and 31 sec
STAR WARS SUCKS
