This video was a rollercoaster of emotions, first I heard that you've lost the streak and got sad, then I saw you pick the claw and got happy since I always wanted to see how one of the best StS players would make claw work, and then seeing how claw was inadequate at the end game was actually a bit of a harsh realization and I got sad again.
Same. I came for the claw deck, but I got frost + powers deck. It's unfortunate that the ramp up for claw is just way too slow compared to other defect options.
In the future during a significant streak i think it would be cool to upload the end of the streak, or if its a short run, append it to the main channel. I enjoy getting invested in the streak, and having some suspense as a youtube only viewer would be cool.
2:15 Mapmarks is on steam workshop although I don't know if it's the same version as Baalorlord uses. Visually it is the exact same and I have used it since I found out about it through this channel. Edit: It is made by the same person but seems to be a slightly older version of the mod. The github link in the description of the steam workshop links to the same creator but a different file set.
OH MY LORD IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING- Honestly, I don't like Claw too much in practice, but I love the idea it's trying to convey. I feel like it's part of an incomplete archetype. When it rarely works, it's very fun, but you could've likely had Streamline + Rebound/Hologram and outperformed Claw by a mile with fewer cards played.
I agree for the most part. Having a claw to help outscale Lagavulin and the Act 1 bosses is the reason I pick one up early unless I get something that scales better before I see one. You don't have to build around it for it to be a useful card.
12:48 I have a theory, and I’m timestamping mainly cause this prompted it and I haven’t finished the run, but I suspect part of why Claw fails in many runs is it rarely gets upgraded, cause why would you want to? You don’t buff the damage per hit. But dealing two additional damage per play on a card you want to play as many times as possible will add up swiftly. On the other hand, when you have one claw you want more claws, upgraded or not. So perhaps the failure of most decks is not being able to maximize their plays of a single upgraded claw, over drawing and playing multiple unupgraded ones. Food for thought
Claws also heavily want a powerful draw engine to get started and start pulling ahead other damage solutions, and while you're doing so, you also need a good way to solve defence, often through Frost orbs. And wanting heavy draw early on is not often something you'd WANT to do, nor something that's easy. All of that plus the fact that you need more than one Claw for it to be good, but you must ALWAYS take the first Claw as a gamble, yeah. Claw is a VERY hungry archetype.
Hiya - echo form Glacier for 7 + 2 frost orbs twice,, each offering 2 block, is 14 + 8 for 22. Baalor said 'perfect block' not perhaps quite correctly, but meaning 'full block'.
19:15 isn't flex pot to save 9 kinda good here? with 60% potion chance too. maybe it has a lot more value in the boss fight with echo form. Just wondering what other people think regarding it
Feels like Bullseye should do nominal damage but cost zero, like Beam Cell. I get that deck building games need a mix of quality of cards but if a card is almost never good, that's a shame. Feels like you never want to spend one energy on it because you're probably better off evoking and cycling orbs if you have lots of energy and orb creation, or you don't want to spend the energy.
It's less about the English Language, and more about being American. Nevada is one of the US states, and Reno is a city of Nevada, so unless you know the cities of US, yeah, you're not gonna get that joke.
Unfortunately, the Defect streak ended at 10. If you would like to watch the loss, you can do so here: ruclips.net/video/1R-qseAvo1Q/видео.html
Thanks, it got into heart so it was decent but didn't make it

In retrospect, I can solve my own problem by watching vod channel when I get invested in a streak to add suspense.
The old world record streak has the ending run in it, which I thought was neat too
Neow bonus is picked at 4:20
Nice
Thank you sir. You're a gentleman and a scholar. Or miss, and then a Lady and a Scholar lol

Claw #1: (10:34) (Floor 3 Combat)
Claw #2: (23:23) (Floor 14 Elite)
Claw #3: (1:09:22) (Floor 44 Elite)
CLAW! CLAW! CLAW! CLAW! CLAW!
It's crazy how close this run was to ending. Some super clutch plays! No way I would've survived
several times!
Call the forgotten altar event. 200 iq play
Forgotten Altar was not forgotten
only occasionally forsaken. 🙂
The remembered altar.

It was added to the steam workshop rather recently, long after Baalor download it
I been winning runs way more often cuz I been watching these while I go to sleep at night. thanks for vids

“The claws are starting to weigh me down (so I’ll just grab another one)”
This deck would be unironically insane with a unceasing top. I had a very similar deck like this with top early on and absolutely thrashed a20 heart.
Omamori clutch!!
Ohhhh my god the Forgotten Altar callout was nuts XD
"We just clawbber our way through the hard pool fights." (11:40)
Claw… claw… all for one… beam cell, go for the eye… claw claw
Good fight!
1:15:27 it just occurred to me that you could Echo Form -> Hologram+ and return the Hologram+ you used with the duplicated Hologram+.
CLAW IS LAW I LOVE CLAW
What an actually playable claw deck looks like.
What a turn! At 1:28:00. Went from dead on board to .... well, no spoilers.

That forsaken altar call out was insane
The deck is downright criminal. Definitely a case of probable claws!
40:20 I can't tell if I'm just stupid. Where did 2 block come from? Baalor counts 20 block, I count 20 block after turn ends.
Hiya - echo form Glacier for 7 + 2 frost orbs twice,, each offering 2 block, is 14 + 8 for 22. Baalor said 'perfect block' not perhaps quite correctly, but meaning 'full block'.
@petecroker okay I see it now. I think I miscounted glaciers base block. Thank you!

I thought this was frosts video. Was so stoked when I found out it was you lol
44:33 someone check him PC, that not normally
How does he do that!!!! I'm shocked.
Title sounds like a death metal song, I like it.
Before I get too into watching this run, I want to remind the community and Defect mains
CLAW IS LAW!
Imagine if there was a finesse stat that gave +1 damage to zero cost cards. So claw could give +2 finesse when played.
I came, I clawed, I conquered
I feel like he should have picked up aggregate at the same time he got the bottle.
So close, well played indeed!
4:41 baalor math strikes out again (3 strikes is more than 8+9) 😂
What is deadlier - a bear attack or this run of Slay the Spire? Let's find out together!
cab someone please explain the reno fund joke? iknow reno is a city in nevada...
Fantastic ending!
Soooooo many close calls!
This run wad quite recent. But still it was quite a fun time
Claw play makes me happy

NOOOOOOOOO IM SO SORRY FOR THE STREAK LOSS
Claw is law!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Rare case of Claw actually working, and on A20 no less?
That dad joke at the beginning, can someone write it? Don't understand that reno funds... (English is not my native language)
He says no refunds when they use points to redeem a joke
Reno is also a city in Nevada, so the pun is both "no refunds" and "no Reno funds" as being robbed meant he didn't have money to travel there.
Don’t worry. I didn’t get it either, and English is my native language.
It's less about the English Language, and more about being American. Nevada is one of the US states, and Reno is a city of Nevada, so unless you know the cities of US, yeah, you're not gonna get that joke.
@@swordzanderson5352 oh I am American and know Reno well. I just didn’t get the whole “Reno fund” = “no refund” pun until I read it here.
So win streak stopped at 10, Right? This is not part of the streak anymore?
Correct.
