I clicked on this wanting to love it, however…. As someone who spends a great deal of time outdoors -hiking wilderness trails, snowshoeing, tending my perennial flower garden, etc.- one of the things I most enjoy in nature is the wide variety of not only texture, but also *color.* Carefully chosen touches of color (nearly anything but neon shades) are not out of place in an “earthy, natural” esthetic, rather they can enhance it. I’m not someone who would want to live in a desert, so why would I limit my color choices to only ones found there? Forests, wildflower meadows, and mountains provide a rich palette of design inspiration. I try to bring some of those colors indoors.
