  • Global tuna fisheries are out of control. They’re emptying our oceans of fish, harming marine life and exploiting workers. The Rainbow Warrior is sailing into the Pacific Ocean to confront the industry with a simple message: It’s time to #ChangeTuna - tuna.greenpeace...

The West, China and the Gulf countries did the same thing to my country (Somalia). Big industrial fish ships come off the coast of Somalia and steal our fishes which makes the coastal Somali fishermen hard to find a fish.

Keyse, I've heard that indeed, it's an ugly truth. I wonder if this happened following an agreement between your government and that of those countries...
It's good you bring your testimony.

Some people need seafood because they live on islands and don't have enough spare land for agriculture.

Yes they are out of control. Stealing for too much fish for coastal line for other country. My country is experiencing that. That’s horrible act of stealing fish too much even if we cry for public outcry no one can help us this is affecting us so horribly As a people 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😢😢

Greenpeace should be the one who accredits sustainable fishing companies. So that the public is certain that the fish it consumes have not been caught illegally.

You know, there is (or there was) plenty of fish in the sea. Even nowadays, we would have enough to provide fish for everyone who wants to eat it. But no, we overfish the seas with methods which wipe out the whole flock and leave nothing, just for the sake of short time profit. And we fish as much as possible, not caring that the fish, once caught and sold, ends up rotting and being killed for nothing.
Mankind dont see that they erase themselves from the planet if they proceed like this. Then again, the planet shall be grateful the sooner we humans vanish or at least drastically decrease.
Industrial fishing is just one example of how we destroy our planet, eventhough there is no need to do so. We should return to small fishing vessels and destroy the industrial fishing, where only a very few really profit from, the average workers on them make less than they have back in the day with their small vessels.
As a man who loves fishing, this hurts to watch.

most of you with your opinions actually have no clue about the fishing industry, OUTSIDE of there propaganda videos. I'm a commercial fisherman off the U.S. west coast and the fishermen aren't what needs to be worried about. That's our source of income to support and feed our families. We care for our environment and conservation programs. The problem lies with the lobbyists who are influencing the regulators. Farmed fish and net pens are decimating the wild fish populations just as fast as the protected sea lions who's population has increased over 3x what it was in the 1950s. Over fishing is not the problem. The government leader elected and appointed offices are the problem. Don't believe every video you see. Free thinkers are dangerous

what you are doing is turning a rather cheap and good source of protein into a luxury commodity I am homeless and for lets say ages fish was way more cheap and affordably food..BUT over fishing and pollution killed of all the sea-food the result are that meat is actually a cheaper alternative for seafood and thus rendering the climate in fucking havoc since meat is the #1 pollution.
    So what do YOU choose?

wow never though I would agree with a greenpeace video but this one hits the nail on the head. Know where your fish is coming from, support your local fisherman not some cooperate shit that rapes our oceans resources. Fuck these giant purse seiners that take all the juveniles and breeding stock out of the ocean those are the boats that need to be stopped, not the hook and line guys just trying to make a living
