Can you show us how to strip a armored dillo next?
You have the same watch i am wearing when watching your clip Casio G-Shock GGB 100 mudmaster😂😂

Have a word will you. Using a fixed blade after going to the effort of using that stupid scoring tool. Then using grips and an adjustable spanner rather than a tool that is the right size for the job. Illustrates that your a bunch of cowboys who don't care about your staff safety
This is the first electrical how to I've seen that won't outright kill you.
DUDE RIGHT, usually it’s just dangerous shit

Well, he seems to know what he's doing and there's no life hacks so, I consider this a win.
And he does it straight up. No shitty segways.
@@rafaelperalta1676 yeah, no bs, no talk about raider shadow legends or Patreon.
The way you said that seems like you are doubting him in the first place.
@@ruthless3896 no, no, not at all, you just get a little jaded scrolling through these shorts, it was just really refreshing is all.
Definitely not he’s missing tools that why he doing it this way
He said what he was doing, did what he said he would, did it in a reasonable manner, no pt. 2, i consider this a win.
Always interesting seeing fellow sparkles work across the pond.
sparkles? i thought it was sparkies
@@ARSZLB Yea i made a typo but I'm not about to clean up after myself. Huehuehuehue
@@frozen2ninja hahahaha because power rangers never clean!
I like it. I'm going to start calling ky fellow sparkies, sparkles. Haahahaha.
Spicy dirt makers
As someone who is currently learning to become an electrician 1/3 years in college, i thank you
I took 2 years in Highschool to work commercial. I enjoyed learning everything I learned then (though construction drawings and the codebook were pretty boring). I don't plan on becoming an electrician anymore but the stuff I learned has already helped with basic residential stuff at home.
When you want to become an electrician you can't learn much here. This is wrong done with the false tools.
You're.. going to college to be an electrician..? I turn 18 on December 30th and I start with a company on January 3rd. Bud, I think you're going about it wrong.
@@christopherperez6126 What are they doing wrong
Your schooling must suck if you're learning off RUclips.
This is proof I’ll watch anything and that YT knows it!
haha yes
Haven't made off SWA for 30 years, loved doing it. Once did a 240mm square sub main, I remember feeling very cool when it was done.
Good story..needs more wizards
@@pumpduddytag23 fucking heol mate that made me spit my tea 😂
I use to be an oil field electrician, cutting and stripping cables the thickness of a person's arm feeding power from giant diesel generators..
Dragging that stuff thru the mud and snow, those were the days.
I've helped some of you guys pull motor wire for some big pumps, that stuff is ridiculous but really cool, ill stick to Pigging
@@Max_Janszen yea dude, I had no idea what I was in for when I started that job.. struggling with the cable when it got cold out was the worst.
Ew dont remind me. 3C 500kcmil teck makes me want to puke...
@@djsnowman06 oh, the Teck cable! God I hated stripping that shit lol!
Sounds like shit days ..
Sparkies are some incredibly talented workers, my uncle is one and he's hands down one of the most dedicated people to his work I've ever seen
It's easy and a very rewarding job plus you make lots of acquaintances along the way. I can see why electricians work past their retirement date often
@@JaRa911 how easy is it?
@@satan1189Today I connected about 300' of conduit with several bends and built about 3 or 4 racks. Sounds like a lot and it was but it's not hard work and it's not back breaking. It was over head tho so my back and shoulders feel a little tired
@@JaRa911 how much did you get paid for that ?
@@markus7166 that was my normal job at my current rate it's about $640 a day 40 hours a week steady for 12 years layoffs here and there but steady work year round
I’ve got an armour slice and it’s the best tool since the bread slicer 😂
I've got a junior hacksaw and a ruler. Works just fine.
Crap I didn't realize you said armored cable and thought you were removing strands from the core dog!
I thought the exact same thing
Me too I was like uhhhh I don’t think so mate
Me toooo
I prefer to do a shallow cut the whole length then dig in the last inch and manually peel back the jacket seems to do the least amount of damage to the wire but since this is armored it doesn't matter :)
I know I'm supposed to be wowed by the work he did. But that translucent box by the wall has captured my attention.
Thank you
Don’t worry guys the cable gave consent.
As someone that just started working on electrical boxes with only theoretical knowlege, this actually is a huge help to me. Thank you!
It’s cool how I’m taking a pre electrical class at a trade school and so I understand everything he’s doing because I’ve done hands on stuff like that. Cool stuff.
Personally I would put the shroud over the cable first leaving the imprint to cut for a good tight shroud not just cut it
Correct my mate .
Clean electrical work is so satisfying
Something that won’t kill me, good job bud.
Nice work mate.
I'd normally put the Cover on first before stripping anything.
Tighten the nozzle, earth tag and nut onto the enclosure i'm connecting it too.
Strip everything to length then marry up both sections.
If its a threaded enclosure id understand this method but if not its easier and quicker to make it off in hand
Thank you for showing people how to do work themselves
Ur awsome 👌💯
Reallllllly shouldn't be cutting wire that thick yourself unless you're a licensed electrician
@@JacobTechShit nah bro. RUclips taught me everything I need to know. now I am equal to an electrician.
If your not a spark don't fuck about with electricity
The ASMR in this tutorial is phenomenal
I already knew how to do this. Shout out all my dads out there that actually taught their sons a thing or two. 👌🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
No surprise Elon musk's younger brother is an accomplished electrician.
No surprise that the younger brother's older brother is an accomplished degree qualified physicist.... Hmmmm..
I learned this in a class I took recently, cool stuff
Wow that looks so easy, I think ima go try that tomorrow
Really interesting watching other sparkys around the world work, great job
"How to strip on the table" 💀
Do it with a bigger one 👀 hacksaw had me going at it for hours 😂😂😂
Not my line of work but so pleasing to watch.
Hated being a electrian was in school for 2 years for it and 3 years working it.... now I'm a business owner self employed got really really lucky meeting the right people
Step 1: have tools to strip an armored cable
Can be done with a hacksaw / knife and 2x pipe grips also. You don't need the armour slice tool OR the knipex cable stripper
When at the end you realise you forget to put back cover... Most painful experience
Stripping armoured cable can be a right pain! Nicely done but I would recommend gloves as if one of them barbs go in, it’s going right in
Im a utility locator for phone and cable and i always see the electricians messing with those big cables. Cool to see that they are actually doing their job
I don’t know why but they way these guys work is so satisfying
Gotta love a man with a skill and a sleeve. 😏
Wear your watch with your other hand, because the right hand does it at work, such as hammering with a hammer, etc. All of this will cause the watch to malfunction and disable the hands.🗿
That's a g-shock he's wearing. They're built to last through work like that.
It’s cool when you can just tell someone’s a pro at something. Good editing too
Lee's a badman of Artisan. Like his laid back, get it done pro style 👌🏽 Solid short. GSH had one of the other big RUclips electricians on showing their students how he does it. Also worth a watch. I have that C.K. SWA cable stripper too and it's awesome. Don't have that knipex (red/blue) one though
Jeeez that whole process astonished me
Thanks, i was searching up type of electrical system banks have and this popped up, this is gonna be really useful 👍
I always used a hacksaw, interesting that there are specialist tools to score the armouring these days.
Nice job 👍
This fella is properly ambidextrous!
Love how it says artisan electrician. Bro sweet shirt
GREAT WORK REZNOV REDIRECTING THE ENEMY TRANSMISSIONS NOW HEAD TO THE NEXT MISSION WHERE WE MONITOR THEIR MOVEMENTS
Idk why but I think it’s very satisfying
Can you show this again with some emphasis on measuring off to a set point and gland in … thanks
Nice work, Juice!!⚡⚡
1 st put shroud on the end of the cable. Cut it to exact size. Put shroud on. Put gland on. Cut armour to size. Most sites are forbidding to use Stanley knife. You can use 1 armour wire to cut external insulation just by pulling it.
Finally the wire I need for my headphones
Good job!!👍
Exactly how I do it. Very nice 👌 👍 👏
There's a trick an old spark taught me if you grab the steel after taking off the insulation peel it away from the cores bunch it up to form a handle and rotate it in the opposite way of the direction off the steal the strands just pop off.👍🏾
Use to terminate Ethernet, striping cables was the most satisfying part of the job
thanks
you just saved my life, turns out this Banks security system was more complex than i thought
Sehr sehr schön wie das ganze auf Masse gelegt wurde 😁👍🏻
I would totally do this, and i've done it before. Like 2 years before Part P came into action. Which it hadn't as installing an EV charger looks like quite the fun challange!
The way you use that xacto knife (box opener knife) makes me wonder how do you still have 5 functioning fingers on both hands
Thats a nice G Shock watch 👌
Story of my daily life resumed in under 1 minute, nice :P
Great wee video 😊
I'm simping for those tools.
You made that look easy . I've done it twice and it's a right fuck about
Not really into being an electrician but that was mad satisfying for some reason
When I learnt to strip an armed cable you used a hacksaw to cut the strands we didn’t have a stripper like that, how things have changed over there with almost 20 years in Nz
I have no idea why or what you did but it was awesome
So clean
Nice work! Simple how to cutting. Thumbs up! Cheers!
Glad you liked it!
They have hooked blades for that. I used to use them when I worked in construction to install stress cables
This video has come in handy for the last 48 hours as I’ve literally done about 10 armoured cables whilst doing a cabin setup on site in Ithlingborough near Rushden, hated the 5 hour round trip though from Doncaster lol.
Great now I can go get a job as an electrician thanks..
Even though I have no idea what's going on, it's still satisfying as hell
yes i agree with this process that i know and can name all the tools and procedures for
Nice! Okay so I usually work with 70mm 4 core armoured cables. Those are extremely hard to strip but you should see the relatively ease with which some the experienced hands do it.
Yes the right tools!👍
Now I can strip the copper wires from my neighbors house, thank you!
Go with the curve of the cable when stripping the out sheath. Comes off in 1 bit, not loads of little pieces
Something about stripping armour cable to me is satisfying
Im currently going to a trade school for electrical and that was some pretty work.
A copper tube cutter for plumbing works great
I have no idea what the hell this guy doing but he's pretty good at it.
Wow your a genius!
They should make a stripping tool with the metal blade and a small round blade set a little further down , maybe add a push in blade to split the sheathing on the way out.
One set of spinning, peel the end of the sheath, bend the wires to break them, peel the second part
High definition eletrician
Thanks I’m gonna go do this now
Nice one fella nice watch as well
Man trades are so cool
try a counter clockwise s grip and lift halfway before circling back around from underneath. vaseline pro guard always helps with the loose nut slack at hip level. knee bend can achieve
Loose nut slack, lol
This kids a real live wire
Currently watching this from heaven
Love that mudmaster same as mine😍
You ask it nicely.
I know not what to do with this information now that i have it. But i have it none the less
Good job
Class bro
Loved it
