      Have a word will you. Using a fixed blade after going to the effort of using that stupid scoring tool. Then using grips and an adjustable spanner rather than a tool that is the right size for the job. Illustrates that your a bunch of cowboys who don't care about your staff safety

      I took 2 years in Highschool to work commercial. I enjoyed learning everything I learned then (though construction drawings and the codebook were pretty boring). I don't plan on becoming an electrician anymore but the stuff I learned has already helped with basic residential stuff at home.

    Haven't made off SWA for 30 years, loved doing it. Once did a 240mm square sub main, I remember feeling very cool when it was done.

    I use to be an oil field electrician, cutting and stripping cables the thickness of a person's arm feeding power from giant diesel generators..
    Dragging that stuff thru the mud and snow, those were the days.

      @@satan1189Today I connected about 300' of conduit with several bends and built about 3 or 4 racks. Sounds like a lot and it was but it's not hard work and it's not back breaking. It was over head tho so my back and shoulders feel a little tired

    I prefer to do a shallow cut the whole length then dig in the last inch and manually peel back the jacket seems to do the least amount of damage to the wire but since this is armored it doesn't matter :)

    Personally I would put the shroud over the cable first leaving the imprint to cut for a good tight shroud not just cut it

    Nice work mate.
    I'd normally put the Cover on first before stripping anything.
    Tighten the nozzle, earth tag and nut onto the enclosure i'm connecting it too.
    Strip everything to length then marry up both sections.

      If its a threaded enclosure id understand this method but if not its easier and quicker to make it off in hand

      Can be done with a hacksaw / knife and 2x pipe grips also. You don't need the armour slice tool OR the knipex cable stripper

    Stripping armoured cable can be a right pain! Nicely done but I would recommend gloves as if one of them barbs go in, it’s going right in

    Wear your watch with your other hand, because the right hand does it at work, such as hammering with a hammer, etc. All of this will cause the watch to malfunction and disable the hands.🗿

    Lee's a badman of Artisan. Like his laid back, get it done pro style 👌🏽 Solid short. GSH had one of the other big RUclips electricians on showing their students how he does it. Also worth a watch. I have that C.K. SWA cable stripper too and it's awesome. Don't have that knipex (red/blue) one though

    1 st put shroud on the end of the cable. Cut it to exact size. Put shroud on. Put gland on. Cut armour to size. Most sites are forbidding to use Stanley knife. You can use 1 armour wire to cut external insulation just by pulling it.

    There's a trick an old spark taught me if you grab the steel after taking off the insulation peel it away from the cores bunch it up to form a handle and rotate it in the opposite way of the direction off the steal the strands just pop off.👍🏾

    Nice! Okay so I usually work with 70mm 4 core armoured cables. Those are extremely hard to strip but you should see the relatively ease with which some the experienced hands do it.

    Go with the curve of the cable when stripping the out sheath. Comes off in 1 bit, not loads of little pieces

    They should make a stripping tool with the metal blade and a small round blade set a little further down , maybe add a push in blade to split the sheathing on the way out.
    One set of spinning, peel the end of the sheath, bend the wires to break them, peel the second part

    try a counter clockwise s grip and lift halfway before circling back around from underneath. vaseline pro guard always helps with the loose nut slack at hip level. knee bend can achieve
