That awesome moment when you realize that David Tennant, Tom Hiddleston, and (soon) Benedict Cumberbatch all exist within one universe.
+Sanguiluna And don't forget Martin Freeman!
+Sanguiluna What is Cumberbatch playing in MCU?
Maddie Siegmund He's Doctor Strange
+Sanguiluna holy crap THAT'S AMAZING (and Martin Freeman)
+KOV BOG Martin's character is called Everett Ross, he was actually in the trailer, just a small glimpse.
David Tennant was incredible in Jessica Jones. My favorite Marvel villain yet!
Agreed
David is number one! But Kilgrave has messed up my innocent mind... T_T
+NewSailorMoonNeo689 I AGREEEEE T_T I hate him but I love him, and plus the fact David plays Kilgrave and with british accent, I kinda felt that I'm watching ten doctor gone bad :(
Only because David Tennnant makes everything amazing
I never watched Doctor Who so I only know him as Barty Crouch Jr.
What makes him so terrifying in the show is that David Tennant is naturally so goddamn charming. Great performance.
I am sorry Joker, but Kilgrave is better than all Jokers in any adaptation.
David tenant as Kilgrave...best villain in the MCU
Kingpin is better
+stephano plaza Seriously mate Kingpin is Awesome but killgrave is just Joker Level.
+stephano plaza I like The Jester, but nobody thinks to add him to any show/movie.
(For anyone who doesn't know: The Jester, Jonathan Powers, is an actor who isn't super great at being an actor, but because his ego is so big, instead of taking acting lessons he learned sword fighting, martial arts, etc. and decided to become a villain, because he figured people would be paying attention to him either way)
+stephano plaza kingpin was just a big baby
+Kevin Echeverria That's because who we saw in season one of Daredevil wasn't Kingpin, it was the man who /becomes/ Kingpin. Season 1 was as much of Kingpin's origin as it was Daredevil's. Kingpin is cold, calculating, always in check. He gets there due to time in prison. At the end of Season 1 he was still just Wilson Fisk. If we see him again (which I'm sure we will, assuming DD gets a season 3 and beyond), he'll be less of a child and more of, well, a Kingpin.
Most devastating series ever produced for the tv medium. JJ was psychologically brutal. A modern masterpiece in multiple genres.
James Galligan you clearly have never watched schindler's list
Actrix Thetank I'm trying to express that the comment is severely exaggerated and pretty much a lie. There are way worse things that happen in tv series', movies, and real life than marvel. Wanted to make sure the younger people watching this understood that because it surrounds them.
Although agreed, I chose the wrong media type. Do you by chance know of any tv shows with the same concept as schindler's list?
You need to watch the Punisher. Makes JJ look like Deadpool...
Jessica Jones is triggering with her brutality
Best on screen villain next to the Joker, Great job David!!!
+marcwa74 and guess what: they're both purple.
+streglof
They both have purple suits*
comawithfriends
that's what I meant
+marcwa74 They're both pimps like good pimp's mind you
+Ath Eist All the Jokers?? Cesar, Jack, Mark, Heath....
1) if you like him in this, and like him in doctor who, then I urge you to watch broad church, he's brilliant in that.
2) my one complaint with David Tennant playing kill grave is that he can never be another character in the MCU. He's a brilliant actor and could definitely take on a leading role
I started watching Broadchurch just because of Tennant! Excellent series, makes normal detective series seem childish.
Ramith Fonseka
It’s like a sad English Brooklyn Nine Nine
I mean, it's possible. The man who played Cottonmouth in Luke Cage is now going to be Blade so who knows what the future will bring.
100% agree
@@SaintAnger101 totally agree now, the context of the Netflix shows is very different now than when I wrote this comment 5 years ago lol
"You can hypnotize someone to cluck like a chicken or sing like Elvis, but you can't hypnotize them to death. Survival instinct is too strong" ~ The Doctor
"Go...That way" *points to the penthouse window*
*-Kilgrave*
+Apart_From_Nothing 55 You know... that's literally the way Kilgraves sees all of it. "I didn't kill them, they did it to themselves."
He literally cannot connect murder, rape, stealing, vandilism, torture or any of the amoral things he does... to himself. On account of how the world is-like-that for him... since he was 8!
ok ok. I was just giving a parallel of two different characters played by David
I was literally thinking about the same thing
contradictory Tenant.
It's like when you really like an actor and then the more you find about them the less you like them- David Tennant is the exact opposite of that. He is noticeably incredible in everything I have seen him in and the more I watch his interviews the more I like him. That's really refreshing. 💜😋
Sha Liz The more I know about David, the more I know we have a lot in common. That and the more I want to marry him.
That Donald Trump joke, my respect for Tennant just increased by one million percent.
I'm in class and can't watch this with sound so I'm staring at David Tennant talk right now and I can picture exactly what how his voice fluctuates. He's perfection.
+Solarstar10 I need another heart to love him more.
+Solarstar10 *by a small loan of a million percent
My hearts almost exploded!
+Solarstar10 it was so shady, i loved it!
The purple veins in the finale were cool though!!
+graceeey147 LOL, true. For a moment I thought he'd change to purple.
+cartoon80s90s me too!
+cartoon80s90s yeah i thought it would just be the purple veins though. i was a bit disappointed that the purple veins didnt stay past that moment.
Oh I thought it was killing him okay...
It looked so sick. When the purple veins came I thought he would flash purple skin for a sec
This guy is fantastic. It's almost hard to see him as anything else but Kilgrave now. Completely twisted and borderline sociopathic. He truly represented what it's like for humans to be in possession of absolute power.
If only he'd appear in the next season of Jessica Jones..
+Mikhail Kalashnikov Borderline? Hah!
+Dahlia Lilyan Ten wasn't all that innocent. A better person? Sure. Innocent? No, not really.
he's pretty much full blown sociopathic 😂
+Mikhail Kalashnikov Yeah, but his role in Doctor Who was a million times better than in Jessica Jones.
TimeLimey It depends, really on how you look at it. Tennant as The Doctor was probably better than his performance in Jessica Jones, but the way Tennant played Killgrave was REALLY good. Really different characters, though. Can't really compare.
Kilgrave left me so conflicted. David Tennant is a wonderful actor.
"That's probably the worse case scenario: painted purple and put in spandex." Poor Paul Bettany
V.E. Gray he making millions tho
And the worse part, when he first took the job he was JARVIS, a disembodied computer voice. So he could just turn up the the set/recording studio in tracksuit pants.
That's a sharp suit! Really working the purple, Doctor.
Omg David is needed back on the show
+digz_mctwist He should've worn purple when he was the Doctor, it's a great color on him. Though it might not look very good with the trench coat...
+AiliSima He has a velvet suit in a very deep burgundy. He wore it on QI, and to Billie's wedding. And it's... OMG.
Too much purple, and he might get violet
JUST FINISHED BINGE WATCHING JESSICA JONES. A MUST SEE FOR EVERYONE OMG SO GOOD
Allons-y!
"I don't want to go!" what he said when he had to leave Seth
COME BACK TO DOCTOR WHO PLEASE!!!!
My favorite phrase ever
I feel every incarnation of the Doctor should have a catchphrase. "Geranimo" was my favourite tho...
Don't get me wrong, I like the new Doctors. But, damn, I miss him as Doctor Who.
As the doctor cause that's his name
@Wyatt Kane, did you know that David's wife is the actress (Georgia Moffett) that played doctor Who's daughter Jenny 😊😊
@@exoticgirl1 wait... are you saying he married his daughter?
bob It’s actually how they met, I believe!
Lemon Lizard here’s where it gets confusing. She’s the daughter of a doctor who and then she plays the daughter of a doctor who and then she married the doctor
"HEY STOP READING THAT MAGAZINE THIS AINT NO LIBRARY"
"pick up that coffee"
*picks up coffee*
"throw it in your face"
*throws in face*
"AHHHHHHH"
I played that part over and over again laughing my ass off
That bit was so funny
I killed him.. I killed Kilgrave.. I let that man burn his face in half.. I failed.. I let someone die IN A BAD WAY!!! I FAILED!! 😭😭
I'm so used to him being British even though he's been Scottish since like...birth..
***** Alright, calm tf down. I was referring to the accent I normally see and hear him using in film and tv. Calm down.
+Taimir Gore ~ Maybe you should see some more of his work; he used a Scottish accent in Single Father, Recovery, Takin' Over the Asylum, Blackpool, The Escape Artist, Nativity 2, Broadchurch, Much Ado About Nothing, and What We Did On Our Holiday (among others), Welsh in United, "American" in Gracepoint. My understanding is he will use an American accent in Chew, as well, and will be Scottish in Metanoia and I feel Fine.
***** Learn sum new everyday.
Saying British accent is like saying American accent. So many different variations and within Britain there's different fucking countries with totally different accents
+Taimir Gore You mean English. Scotland is in Great Britain.
David Tennant is the most hardworking gentleman ever! A great actor and an even better human being!
would be so awesome to see a scene with Kilgrave and Loki.
Would it work on Gods? That's the real question.
YEEESS that would've been awesome!!!
+MrNickCallas I NEED THIS TO HAPPEN!
+Will Haskins
Yes it would most likely.
Scarlett Witch was also experimented on by mortal humans, and was able to warp Thor's mind.
In the "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" cartoon, Kilgrave (Purple Man) is able to control all the Avengers.
But he's dead
I have no idea how JJ S2 will be able to be as good as S1 without Kilgrave. He carried that show, he was so damn good.
So true. I disliked Krysten Ritter's perfomance and some of the other actor's in the show, like that annoying brother & sister neighbour. Only David Tennant's Kilgrave kept this show interesting.
And after Luke Cage (which nosedived in plot and quality half-way through the season after another great villain "left"), my faith in Marvel's ability to keep their Netflix shows interesting is wavering. I'll have to wait and see which side of the coin Ironfist falls.
I didn't dislike Krysten Ritter but I don't think she's as strong of a lead as Charlie Cox or Mike Colter.
And I was not a big fan of Luke Cage, like the entire thing. Clearly my least favorite of the 3 marvel netflix shows.
TheMrKlump I found it hard to root for JJ (even though I really wanted to) because of how KR portrayed her: sulky, selfish, unsympathetic. So I worry for a JJ S2 without Mr Purple. LC was enjoyable enough for me until Cottonmouth gave way for Diamondback (my least favourite Marvel villain thus far.)
I really hope they nail Iron Fist and Punisher.
Fun Guy sulky? She has PTSD. Selfish? I guarantee she's saved more lives than you have. Unsympathetic? She has PTSD. I hope that explains her psyche
Steph S So because Jessica has PTSD, we can excuse her for being a sulky, selfish, and unsympathetic prick. By that logic, we can excuse Kilgrave for doing horrible things to people because he has a traumatic childhood.
Awwww, David is so adorable!
Kilgrave was the best MCU villain.
Josh Yord no kingpin is definitely the best
+xLawr I vote Cottonmouth
cottonmouth was a tool
let's just agree that Netflix villians are amazing.....Netflix is just killing it with the marvel shows.
Josh Yord especially that he was also played by David Tennant
David Tennant was absolutely phenomenal as Kilgrave. He's the best villain I've seen in a long time. I was kinda sad to watch him die. I just couldn't hate him and even felt empathetic at times.
God David Tennant is such a beautiful human being
i love david tennant. hes one of the best actors to come out of our little country.
I could never really hate Kilgrave while watching Jessica Jones and I'm not sure why....
During the episode in Jessica's old house, I felt a lot of sympathy for him. Only when he killed someone did I not like him but I never felt hate for his character.
- He's hot.
- He wants to be with Jessica and not to hurt her.
- He's kind of romantic when you think about it.
- He's hot.
- He never really murdered anyone in flesh, he made them kill themselves which kind of makes him seem less like a murderer.
- Um... did I say he's hot yet? xD
jmsolano0516 are you sure you watched the show? Sure he had a messy childhood so it makes sense to have passing moments of sympathy but that doesn't excuse what he did - repeatedly and without remorse, the worst things a person can do. I've never seen a more accurate portrayal of a manipulating rapist in media and it really scares me to see people defend him in the same way that people like him are defended in the real world.
+carolinestories That's why Kilgrave is honestly the most terrifying villain I have ever encountered. They do such an apt job of showing how the mind of an abuser works and how manipulative they can be that at times even the audience is kept from hating him completely. A vicious murderer and rapist is portrayed as charming and passionate so much so that the audience at times will question his guilt. This is what abusers do, they manipulate those around them until even the victim will question the reality of their own suffering. Kilgrave is terrifying because he is real, he exists, he is the reality of an abusive man.
+carolinestories And abusers very rarely accept or acknowledge the full extent of the pain they have caused. They manage to find in their mind an excuse and a reason for their actions because they have spent their life feeling entitled. Men that abuse women feel entitled to the body and attention of their victims, when they are denied these things their anger and frustration is not seen as their fault. They truly do believe the blame lies with the victim. Kilgraves entire character is based around entitlement, in a way his mind control seems to just be a metaphor for male entitlement. He's a very chilling kind of evil.
+josh mcgee listen i HATE IT ehen people say "have you even watched the show?" Listen dipstick did i say he was a good guy? did i defend him? no i said he's not that bad in the show compared to the comic. Killgrave in the show isna terrible rapist, sure. But therenis still something keeping me from hating him. I dont like him but he seems too noce at times
"Donald Trump doesn't think he's a villain"
David Tennant is officially one of my favorite celebrities!
"painted purple and in spandex" paul bettany pauses the video. a single tear rolls down his face
So cute and funny - as ever! A lovely guy.
David Tennant was an incredible villain, Got shivers but at the same time some sort of attraction towards him in the series.
+suuzj4 Exactly! I shouldn't be attracted to Kilgrave, which I'm not, BUT TENNANT THOUGH ;O
Same here
Well, like I say, David Tennant really knows how to put the HOT MAN in the psycHOTic MANiac.
@@michellewarns2778 I'm stealing this. Also your comment deserves more likes
This man absolutely nailed it, it's a shame they killed him off and he can't come back.
vivek kedia I think he will, but he's only gonna be on Jessica's head.
SPOILERS
The show's been out for nearly a year.
Laura Kay You don't get it. Like at all. Go watch some Doctor Who.
What? LOL
"donald trump doesn't see himself as a villain "
fucking killed me😂😂
All politicians are villains
Hillary's no better
Johnathan Wesley Critch and neither is donald trump
OMG. That man! He's a real guy, too. Warm and personable, plays with his kids, walks the dog, putters in the garden. He's incredibly kind to his fans, stays late to sign stuff at cons. I've never heard a bad thing about David.
Pity he's married. ;-)
I love every interview David gives... love his wit!!
"No, Donald Trump doesn't believe he's a villain." Liked the video right then. Any thing else the video has to offer is just gravy.
Rch Pers best Trump burn I've ever heard
but tell me you didn't see that joke coming
Hillary sucks too
Bernie Sanders should have been the candidate
His charming voice will be inside my head FOREVER
David's hair looks so soft here. Can I pet it?
It's on my bucket list, touch David TENNANT'S head/hair
+Alice Orion Black He has got better hair than Jesus :) He and matt smth
+mustafa şen lol
*touches Capaldi's hair*
Wth?
he actually let one person pet his hair lol
"No, Donald Trump doesn't believe he's a villain." XD I love this man
David Tennant will forever be my favorite Doctor. Although I miss him yelling Allons-y with his sonic screwdriver as he runs around through time and space with that coat, he's really great at playing Killgrave
I was thinking in the show that Killgrave must get bored being able to get whatever he wants. I assume that's why he chases after Jessica so much.
+Richard Strong Well the show gives you the answer xD
ragnar97 It was more the scene where he refuses to use his powers (despite the temptation) to buy the house that made me wonder.
+Richard Strong Dont understand why, too.
First i thought that he wants nothing to do with his powers in the surroundings of Jessica, but then he uses mind control against his servants.
Serry Ye but in his mind the servants were only a way to keep her with him long enough for her to fall in love not something permanent. The house was, he planned to live with her in it. He didn't mind using powers to affect the situation in the present but his long term plans were to live with jessica without powers or things obtained with them (thought he used his powers to get the money for the house but I guess that's a way to show his twisted reasoning).
I'm guessing that's the reason why. I may be wrong though, it's just speculation.
+ragnar97 But Killgrave knew all along that his powers weren't affecting Jessica... So it leads me to kind of believe that he did it because he had no other choice, using the "I won't use my powers on you" as an excuse for hiding that he couldn't control her anymore (?)
Didn't expect that Trump joke. Good one sir. I've watched Jessica Jones last weekend, and boy it didn't disappoint. I thought Kilgrave/Purple Man could very well be the lead. You know what, Imma just go watch Doctor Who, might as well. Tennant, I applaud you good sir
I watched the entire Jessica Jones series on a Saturday and watched DT in Broadchurch on Sunday. He is an extraordinary actor. Seeing him so animated here is awesome.
merc Secret Smile creeped me out. His character scarred me for days.
What Seth commented on about if Killgrave feels bad about using his power is even covered pretty extensively in the show. Killgrave has a whole scene lashing out at Jessica about how carefully he needs to words things because he doesn't always know if they're doing it because he willed them to, or they are choosing to. Which is the whole crux of the second half of the season.
everytime I see him I just want to SMILE
definitely one of my favorite villains. really well played.
David: "I'm very happy to be here." Me: "I'm very happy to hear that accent."
I finished the show yesterday. It was amazing. Best villian ever.
He was absolutely perfect as Kilgrave.
David has always loved to stutter 😂
you know the possibility of him still being alive is a thing he does have a healing factor that has saved him from mortal injuries that would kill normal people like say...a broken neck.. because when his healing triggers he enters a "death like trance" you cant really tell if he is dead or alive. If they decide to bring him back using this method that would make me happy would love to see more of this guy as killgrave.
1:23 David Tennant is now my favorite Scotsman.
David Tennant is such an awesome dude. Great doctor, great villain, great actor.
David Tennant is such an amazing actor
David Tennant is such a pretty man! My favourite modern day Dr Who 😍
This interview makes me wanna see the TV series again
So I'm going to
I adore him. He comes across as a lovely human. He was also was awesome in Jessica Jones
He played amazing villain.
"painted purple then put in spandex"
Paul Bettany in WandaVision
The Doctor!!!
David's tie tho' and the green socks. I think this made my day
I LOVE SO MUCH THIS MAN! I could listen to him talking all day.
Look at me, scraping for some David Tennant's content after Good Omens.
Favorite doctor!
He did such an amazing job as Kilgrave (as he did as the doctor) he is just so captivating on screen! It was impossible to fully hate him though, and I just wanted to see more and more of him, I never wanted it to end!
dope ass suit... dope ass voice....dope ass acting...david is so awesome
Marvel tv shows has better villains than the movies, i mean Fisk, cottonmouth, killgrave and even secondary villains where freaking awesome.
***** oh yeah, the mentioned was just some of the villians I really love. I also really liked the chinese woman and The Ninja from DD.
uhhhh Daredevil has been renewed for season 3 soooo i don't know where you got that information from..
Tennant's Kilgrave is the best superhero genre villain I've seen since Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight, he played the sociopath perfectly!
PS. My favourite Doctor Who so far too.
His obsessive love for Jessica saved me in 2015... COME HERE JESSICCCCAAAA! 😂
I love him and I always will
I have to say that, I love doctor who so much I was so excited to see Tennant in Jessica Jones and as a villain he gave me the creeps like really frightened me. Then I remembered that Captain Jack (John Barrowman)is also playing an amazing comic book villain in DC's Arrow and I was like WOW, Those guys are so talented, they rock whether as good guys or as bad guys
I FUCKING LOVE HIM AS KILGRAVE
Aside from being a great actor and, by all accounts, a lovely man, he always has great socks. 😊
he's incredible. my god, I love this man
DAVID YOU LOOK DAPPER , MY LOVE!!!!!!!!
He is amazing in Jessica jones. Terrifying.
LOL u gotta love David Tennant
Oh my gosh could I love this person anymore
I loved him as Killgrave. The best villain in a Marvel show or movie I have ever seen. And, damn, now I miss him as The Doctor.
1:27 WOAH!
+Beckie Jane Brown i had the same reaction
i love his voice. its so high pitched and goofy.
I love David Tennant so much.
He deserves an award for the way he played Killgrave.
He's kinda dressed like Kilgrave here
Love this guy! One of my favorite villains
A very generous and talented human being, worth modelling oneself after
COME HERE JESSICAAAAA
I am constantly waiting for him to do the snake mouth like he does in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
+Stephanie G I've known Tennant as the Doctor only since this year, so until this January he was only Barty Crouch Jr for me.. So when I saw him playing Doctor who, for the entire second season I felt that something was a little bit wrong, I wasn't recognizing him! He was too kind, in my imagination he still was a villain. I was waiting the same snake mouth thing as you! So when I saw him playing Kilgrave I was almost relief :D
I love that suit
Brilliant character and actor.
"Donald Trump doesn't think he's a villian."
there's a reason this man is my favorite doctor.
Maya Rosenthal Smith is my personal favorite, but yeah that was a sick burn
As if Hillary was much better. She was going to NUKE Russia and start world war 3
BERNIE SANDERS should have been the candidate
Loved David's comment about Donald Trump!
His hair and suit and everything in this video is just on point.
I just love him 💕
What what i know of sociopaths (having encountered a couple in my personal life), Mr. Tennant appears to be bang on correct in his portrayal of one. Not as easy to achieve as one might think.
Over 30.000 views and NO DISLIKES!!!
Awwwe his socks 🧦, his just adorable😍😍😍😍😍
i love this man sooo much!
