The new expansion coming out (at least here in Poland) renewed interest. You didn't use the shield token... I guess it's only used with expanded decks? There's quite a lot of potential for negative interaction in this game, especially with the New Era deck, but you must pay attention to your opponent more and timing is the key - you have to destroy a building before the enemy is able to use it and also find some use for the spoils, which takes a bit of thinking, but that's good!
Excellent playthrough. I think I'd like the game. I was thrown off a bit because the art made me think it would be pretty thematic. Maybe there's some explanation somewhere, but on the whole, I have no idea what was happening thematically.

When an opponent uses your Open Production card, I think they're supposed to put their worker *on* your card and you take *another* worker (from the supply). This signifies that the action has been *done* that round and can for example, not be done by that or another player again, during this round :)
They definitely don't get your card! Great video though, subscribed :)
This was my understanding as well, do you remember at what time I made this mistake in the video?
Just noticed this reply sorry for the delay. @10:59 you say something like "they have to give me one worker which I put in my pool and they get to take the card" when describing open production.

When you said that an ammo token counts as a wild resource did you mean it counts as either a gear, fuel, gun, or brick (you said fuel, gear, gas, & gun)?
Oops, yeah ammo counts as one of the 4 main resources (guns, cogs, fuel, or bricks).
Hi Jon, great video! This is the first I've seen of your vlog, and it's great! I had a question though. I'm looking at the rules and I can't see anything about starting the game with six cards, discarding two, and then moving into the lookout phase. To my mind, the way you've played it makes more sense compared to just beginning the game with only two cards from the lookout phase. But I've also checked out Watch It Played and they say nothing about starting with four cards either. Is there somewhere in the rulebook you'd suggest I look, or an online resource somewhere that clarifies it? Cheers!

I found Imperial Settlers had a runaway leader issue.
Any thoughts that this might be better along those lines?
+Jason Cookingham I've still only played 2 games at this point, but from that vantage I can say that run away leader is probably a possibility but it would also end the game fast due to the 25 point threshold. So the difference is in Imperial Settlers the runaway leader will run much farther away and the game will go on much longer than it needed to vs a runaway leader in 51st state.
Hi Jon - great playthrough as usual. Quick question. Do you receive 1 VP when razing one of your cards (along with the spoils indicated on the card)?
You only get points if part of the spoils is the Star icon.
OK, then I think it might be when you develop a building using the brick? Anyway, I will double check the rules. Thanks for the reply. Cheers
Yeah, you get a point when you use the brick action.
Overall a good review but you were not able to show the use of shield tokens.

WHY THE WIN POINTS TRACKER GOES OVER 25 IF 25 IS THE ACTUAL NUMBER TO REACH IN ORDER TO WIN A GAME ?
Because you get more points once the game is over for your cards in the Tableau
