I love your videos. As a cyclist from the USA, I am fascinated that some cycling infra like yours is even possible. I have traced my ancestry back to the 1500s and my ancestors are from Loppersum and Blaricum - I'd love to see what those cities look like today. Keep up the good work. This is my favorite RUclips channel.

+Me Myself They're not really cities, they're quite small both.
But Blaricum is well known in the Netherlands, as nowadays it's one of the richest or at the least most expensive to live municipalities in the country. That's mainly because it's near Hilversum, which is basically the country's media and entertainment hub. But up untill a 100 years ago it was a farmer's village, so it's very different now to what it was in the 1500s. There was a big village fire back in 1696, and at that time there were still just 108 homes there, so very small village. You can find a few drone videos of Blaricum here on youtube if you want to get an idea how it looks now, search for 'Blaricum van boven'.
Loppersum is a much lesser known place, up in the north of the country. It's recently mostly known because of them recently having to deal with earthquakes due to gas winning up there, and protests as a result of that. But Loppersum is more of a normal rural village and municipality. The Petrus en Pauluskerk, a church, was already there in the 1500s and is still actually there. If you want to get an idea of that environment looks now, search for 'Ligfietsen 8-3-2015 Groningen' here on youtube, it will give you a short impression of Loppersum and that region from the perspective of a recumbent bike.

"Mooi om te zien hoe tussen de vele schapen door,
onder een grauwe lucht, toch je weg weet te vinden
naar je eindpunt." Mooie route tussen 2 mooie steden.

There are also Pedelecs... unfortunately speed pedelecs are not an option anymore, they are not allowed on the dutch cycle paths anymore. But they would have been a great solution for longer distances. I mean, did you see the racing cyclist in this video? He's making 30 km/h for sure as well, so why is using a speed pedelec not possible... they can cycle slow too. sending them on the streets to cars and trucks is very dangerous.
