    First time I have seen this section of a Camaro frame replaced. Nice job well done video. I use Cleco clips for drawing up pieces of metal with 1/8" holes like patch panels or 1/4 panels. Cleco's are a temporary rivet the stock car guys use for mounting bodies.

      Thanks Russ, I'm looking forward to your videos on this. I know I'll learn a thing or two from them for the next one.

      @@RestoCar Thanks Dan. Your video will definitely help me. Like you, I want to get them in the exact location. I have a new floor to put in and it has repro ones on it. I'm still not sure if I will use the originals or repro. I need to look at how well they are fitting the new floor.

    For the edge going to the rocker that you can't clamp because it is to short i have hate to weld metal to the edge of the new flore pans on my 68 firebird because they were to short to clamp too then made up weld holes.

    Weld through primer is actually just for Induction welding ( real spot welding 2 panels together) I guess it cant hurt if you get a good plug weld.

    Do the holes for the leaf spring perch have nits on the back to fasten the leaf springs down?

    Nice work! The only question that I have is if those after market sub-frame connectors work? To me they do no seem to make a frame stronger. Now I see why the after market custom frames are build outwards to the edge of the car. I might build an extension as the brand new after market frames.

    do you know what you're going to be spraying under the car yet? I've seen a lot of people recommend upol raptor

    • @RestoCar
      @RestoCar  4 года назад

      I plan on using upol raptor for the underside. The other option I had in mind was LizardSkin, but thought that might be better suited for the interior. Do you have a favorite coating for the underside?

    • @PyroBlock
      @PyroBlock 4 года назад

      @@RestoCar I was looking at lizardskin for the underside and the interior. In the research I have done, upol raptor is great for a budget and has some sound dampening qualities due to it's texture. Lizard skin will help keep heat out though if you use their ceramic.
      Currently I plan on using upol raptor for under my car, and lizard skin ceramic and sound for my interior just due to how expensive it is.

    To push the flange sgainst the rocker stack up. I would have used a wood block and some wedges to push the flange against the rocker. Might have tried using a turnbuckle jack tacked to the inner face of the torque box to apply pressure.
    Sometimes you can flip the clamp heads on a squeeze clamp around, so they act to open. That too might have worked with some blocking.
