      Hi Josh! Thanks so much for your informative videos. In your opinion does the HP Ghost Printer (specifically the HP M452) REALLY print as vibrant of colors as the icolor550 printers? If looking for long lasting and vibrancy of colors on T-shirt’s, it would be helpful know if it would be best to go with a Uninet OR HP GHOST M452? And with Ghost, what if there is black in the image but it needs the white undertone for the color to pop....Is this possible with HP/GHOST?

    Hello, when you are marrying the A and B sheets, how much pressure do you use when you rub the hot sheets with a cloth? I have been getting started with my iColor 560 using the standard 2 step paper and not exactly sure if I should use heavy or light pressure when rubbing the sheets with a cloth before separating them. It seems that changing the pressure used could make a difference in how well the sheets separate from each other. Additionally, are any of the transfer papers harder than others to get a clean adhesive transfer? Thanks for the video! I am trying to figure out which paper will be the best choice for me and this was very helpful.

    Hello! One question 😊 I saw in your other videos that Forever Multitrans is curling and it is difficult to do ghosting on it because of that. I was thinking of a go-around and wanted to know what you think about it. Here it goes: do you think that printing a small dot on the non printable area will curl the paper the other way around and make it easier to be “fed” in to the Ghost Printer? 👻

      It really depends on how good you are with using computers. If you are not good with computers and want something easy that has done most of the work for you, go with the Sawgrass sublimation. If you have around $4800 to spend and are pretty good with designing your own images in a graphic design program and know your way around a computer pretty well then I would go with a white toner printer. Question - I'm thinking about getting an HP to use the Ghost White. Can I use standard HP toner for the C,M,Y? Second, Can I print Photo images as well with this or will this only work for graphic images?

    • @uscuttervideos
      @uscuttervideos  4 года назад

      OEM HP toner will work and not cause any color issues from use with a heat press. Yes you can print photo images as well as vector images with this but you will ALWAYS have to use the two passes to create a CMYK and White image. There is no rip-software to do this for you so you will also need some computer skills. I have USCutter.com Ghost videos on the way, but for now you van view my personal page for more information about Ghost ruclips.net/channel/UCVWCvQRIOwcMSWM5xQqP2rw

      @@uscuttervideos what do you mean by 2 passes? Put the transfer paper in the printer, it comes out then put it back and run it again?

    • @HalfAssHomestead
      @HalfAssHomestead 2 года назад +1

      @@assadnujjoo Exactly. Above, Josh stated there is no rip-software to do this. That is not exactly true. If you use Affinity Photo, you can purchase an add-on for color separation. This will allow you to print just the white under base on the final pass.

So if any one has any settings that they would like to share with me to help me get started with this. I'll be glad to show you some settings for sublimation in exchange for your help, I currently do a lot of sublimation right now and I need some help with I color 560

    How do these transfers actually feel to the touch in comparison to a DTG printed shirt? Washability?

    • @uscuttervideos
      @uscuttervideos  4 года назад +5

      iColor select is the lowest costing two-step paper on the market and will last about 15-20 washes it has a softer adhesive that works better with large solid designs. The iColor premium is on the opposite side of the price scale but has a soft feel like a screen print and will last 100+ washes.

    • @HalfAssHomestead
      @HalfAssHomestead 3 года назад

      @@uscuttervideos I am researching the iColor 550 Printers, thinking that I really need this printer. I did not know about the iColor Premium. How much is that for the two parts each, as I don't want to raise the cost of my shirts. We put out $14.00 full color shirts, with Free S&H. So price margins mean the most to keep us profitable. We do a lot of shows, and the portability is a major issue. Do your Uninet Printers come with the RIP software? Without that, the printers are pretty much useless, as the prints come out feeling like paper with low washability tests.

    Question my image sticks to the adhesive paper and not the transparency sheet how do i fix this?

    • @uscuttervideos
      @uscuttervideos  4 года назад

      You are letting it cool down so the adhesive is staying on the B sheet and pulling the toner to it.

  • @bkgalatl

    • @uscuttervideos

      It sounds like you are allowing it to cool down too much before separating the A and B sheets.

      Every heat press I have played with needs a co-efficiency applied to the temperature settings. Use a infrared temperature gun and measure the actual press temperature. EG. Set the press temp to 300F. Once it reaches the set point, read the actual. Most of mine always run hotter than stated, but that is not true for all. Say you set it to 300, but at 300 it is actually running say, 320. Divide the set temp by the actual, and that will give you the number you need to actually set the press to. In this case it is 300 divided by 320, leaving you a co-efficient of 0.94. We call this the Fudge Factor. So to get the right temp, take 300, multiply it by 0.94 and that will get you as close as you can be to the right temp. Again, the above stated says you should be running your press at 282. In reverse, if you set it to 320 and it only gets to 300, then you want to multiply it by 1.07. In this case you would set the press to 342. Once you open the press, grab a corner and start your low peel. You need to make sure you do it as close to the right temp as possible for the best results. You can get a cheap infrared temp gun at www.amazon.com/dp/B08QZ7XWXK/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?pd_rd_i=B08QZ7XWXK&pd_rd_w=8NaO1&pf_rd_p=91afecf5-8b2e-41e2-9f11-dc6992c6eaa1&pd_rd_wg=Hvcfx&pf_rd_r=HYZDF0GPYW3DDCE6M803&pd_rd_r=fd58ad42-4ab4-4085-a1ec-5a0b176b39f2&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzR1dNUFpORUJTMVY1JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjI0MDQ5VEdESk85WVNNN1BSJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1MjQ1MDkzS1NWM0pHR0w3VTY0JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfZGV0YWlsJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1 This is not an affiliate link, and is not the gun I have, but is a cheap alternative.

    • @uscuttervideos

      The standard has a harder adhesive that works better with rasterized designs. The select has a softer and elastic adhesive that will work better with solid designs.

    If white ink is always your base color when printing for a dark garment, why not simply add a white pigment to the B-sheet so you don’t have to buy special ink cartridges or printers?

    • @uscuttervideos
      @uscuttervideos  3 года назад

      Papers like Forever Laser dark already do that, but the problem is that the process still requires a certain amount of toner to come into contact with the adhesive for it to transfer over. If you wanted to do solid color images with no gradients or brighter colors you could. You can Increase the amount of toner density on your printers’ settings to help with this a bit, but you will still not be able to get complete adhesion to lighter colors and gradients.
