Berthe Auguez de Montalant - “La Charite” ( Rossini) (1909)

Berthe Auguez de Montalant (soprano, 1865 - 1937) sings “La Charite" by Rossini. Original Gramophone Monarch 12” single -sided record 033069, played on a travelling arm gramophone based on the "Trade Mark model", but of modern construction, with refinements. (See Experimental Monmouth Gramophone No 1). The recording equipment available at the time was not really up to coping with soloist, chorus and orchestra together!
