Right, However couldn't help myself but to add that dividing the Pully ratio from the speed would simplify the problem as 120 ÷ 40 = 3 & 1420÷3 = 473.33
I work in the pulley industry, this is the easiest way of calculating RPM's. The video is the hard way to do it. Divide pulley sizes take that number and divide it by driven RPM. Easy peasy.
Hi, I just watched a video you posted on pulley size calculation. thank you for sharing. If you would, I need guidance. I'm helping someone install a DIY microhydro system. We're using a multiple pulley system to achieve required rpm at alternator. Three shafts and four pulleys. The main driver needs to spin at 65 rpm to achieve 1300rpm at alternator pulley. The higher the electric load on the alternator the more resistance and it slows the system down. My question is, does installing a larger driver pulley help overcome the braking force that the alternator exerts when under load? or is my only option increasing force/power at driver pulley? Would you mind if I sent you an email regarding the problem I'm facing? I understand if you don't reply. Thank you anyway

I want to convert sprocket to sprocket with chain to pulley to pulley with cog belt, is there a conversion calculator anywhere that I can input the chain info & get the equivalent ratio in a pulley setup?
Mere paas ek pulley type air compressor hai, jis se tyre me hawa bharatha. Isko 1hp wala (1500 rpm) AC motor hai, isko DC motor pe convert karke solar se chalana cahta hu, kitne volt(V), watts(W) ka DC motor chahiye, please guide me.
Thanks for connecting us. If you want to slow the big wheel (driven) you have to slow the Motor speed ( driver wheel) you have two options 1. reduce the diameter of driver wheel. 2. Connect motor through VFD and control the speed as you desire. Write us if you have any questions. Thanks.

Yes you can get the value in inch or mm both. For example if you will feed the value in inches you will get another pulley's diameter in inches and same in mm too By the way thanks for connecting us. Please stay connected by subscribing for more informative videos.
WOW, I almost asked if the RPM on a motor is from the shaft or the pulley on it, then realized the motor with or without the pulley is the same RPM regardless of how large the pulley is, and that the difference comes from the next pulley in line... Figured I'd explain my ignorance incase anyone else asks the same question without logically thinking about it first... Also, awesome vid and explanation, thank you!
Nicely done, very clear and concise. Everything should be this understandable

@greeneyerocker how do i determine the size of my driven pulley if i only have the size and rpm of my drive pulley?
Share the size and rpm of drive pulley. By the way you can apply same formula for your question.

Please tell me the driver's RPM and how much RPM you want at Driven end.

It depends on the torque of your existing motor then we can suggest you.
Thank you.

Do i need to convert the pitch diameters of pulleys from inches to millimeters?
Thanks for your question.
No , if you put the value in inches you will get the results in Inches.
Yes, but what if you are using inches instead of that blasted metric system?
Indeed
Belt distance what impact on rpm
V-belts achieve an average efficiency of about 92% due to slippage.

Idk get a bigger driver wheel lol
Or get a motor that can control the rpm of the wheel
Should the pulley diameter be in inches or mm?Which one is correct? In some videos MM and in some videos inches.

@@erpawan6886 ok I understand.
Is the formula still the same to calculate the rpm when the pulley has teeth?
You are talking about chain sprockets or gears? Please specify your question ,definitely we will help you.
