Nah us americans aren't surprised by the lyrics, we were just taken aback by the fact that it was released by jk, a kpop idol with a prominent image of being the maknae (but not in a bad way, I personally think it's funny and cute). Also i have no problem singing it during the day in front of the ppl lol, the lyrics are pretty tamed compared to western music .
As an south east Asian listening to both K-pop and American and European (mostly German and Spanish ) rap I can confirm
I think it's shocking to people as they think that JK is *SOOOOO* 'innocent' since we never see him with a girl or guy.
Fr I thought y would we be uncomfortable humming this song, even the rap part. It sounds good
i was shocked only bc i never expected jk to release a sexual song but the lyrics still are very tame compared to what i normally listen to so seeing other people say this is “too explicit” is funny 😭
Yea, since in korean standards, it is sexual. Saying I'm fucking you 7 days a week is very explicit for the korean media
lol this reaction is so funny. I didnt think the lyrics were "too sexual" but i guess its a cultural difference.
Kpop idols r much more innocent than America artist😂
Maybe ...but if he sang it in Korean, that's different. I can sing about sex in any language I'm giving lyrics to sing, but it's totally different when it's the secret "dirty" words you learned as a child in your native language. I can't see Jungkook actually singing that line about "fucking you right" in Korean. Not making love, not sliding bodies or whatever euphemism...FUCKING! 😀
I honestly thought it was pretty tame. I think it’s because people over here just say the wildest shit in songs that it doesn’t really surprise me anymore.
@@sydcogghiff-zr1flI feel like both are not innocent whatsoever, but K-pop Idols just hide it better or keep it discreet
same i thought it was so mild 😂
Their reactions are hilarious. I am amused when people are surprised that an adult man in todays world sings and use expletives. At some point holding hands aren't enough for human contact. Loving these girls , shock them even more and show them ' dance hall ' music videos to react to.
They would die😅😅
Nah that's just low class behavior and a bad representation of black people. X to dancehall and female rappers. 🤢🤢🤮🤮
They're not shocked by it just in kpop idol standards people who cuss and sing inappropriately don't get that of a good image in the korean media. So they're just surprised that a person with such a big audience would do this.
They think he sounds like a teenager who hasn't had sex yet and I must agree lol. Every hour, every minute? Be serious. I do like the song though.
@@sneekz07it’s just a song bffr
Americans have NO PROBLEM with singing this!! 😅These ladies are adorable and I love watching their reactions!! It's amazing to see our cultural differences, but also our similarities!! Would love to see their reaction to the dance video he did!
The fact that this is one of Latto’s most tamest verses makes me want them to listen to her other tracks. 😂 Seven is SOTY for me. ❤
And it’s the fact that they think this is the explicit version cuz of her when the actual explicit version is cuz of him😂
@@GotBRealTaeRIGHT lmfoa
Jung Kook seems pretty creative with his music videos. They never falter in quality either.
Isn’t this his first? Also it’s a new director they never worked with. New things are always good
i agree but it’s his first mv😭
Isn't that cause of the director though cause they do the work
@@ItsEvie The artist also has a hand in creating the music video, they decide what they want to do ad give ideas for it.
@@pjm875 I think in this chase majority of the ideas are from the director and his crew since jk didn't have much involvement in the creation of the song. When they gave him the song I think there was already a set idea for the MV
Winee was singing so earnestly without knowing what it meant, then IMMEDIATELY turned red at the translations
Their reaction is so cute. The lyrics were surprising for a k-pop idol. My girl Cha Cha is something else. “Cha Cha Slide” is the name of a dance.
Latto broke thru the 4th wall haha
Well I highly doubt its surprising to Americans because the lyrics are so explicit but more because it being from a idol
They meant that the reactions of the foreigners were quite surprising. I as a foreigner was quite surprised with both the clean and explicit versions and both were crazy good. I also watched the reactions of others and noticed I was not the only one surprised by both versions
@@olayinkafayinto9323 op isn't disagreeing. They're just saying that people were shocked because it was an idol singing it, not because of how explicit it was. Especially since this is actually considered tame for latto
Confused about how they say over and over again that the rap lyrics are "too explicit" but JK literally sang about s3x using a swearing word and they didn't say so that much! People really have different perspectives on words 😮
I really dislike swearing words about this topic, but I'm happy he can express his sexuality how he pleases. It's also cool how there are two versions of the song: more people can enjoy it this way!
I think most poc are aware of why they said that. No matter how open-minded and progressive they seem there's still subconscious bias. They already assumed it would be way more sexual before she even started rapping
@@karlafrancis8471i'm not disagreeing with you bc there's definitely a subconsciously negative perspective towards rap and hiphop among Koreans, but I just want to correct you when you said poc... Koreans (all asians, in fact) are poc too. I'm sorry if I misunderstood your comment!
@@ksj638 I'm aware that they're also poc. My point was that people who have experienced micro-aggresions would be able to understand why they reacted that way. I probably could have worded it better.
@@karlafrancis8471 yes, we know why. I thought the same thing. Her lyrics were any more explicit than JK’s.
@@ksj638Yes, but they’re not Black and this reaction was peak antiblackness whether intentional or not. Suddenly, “seven sheets” is too explicit but “fucking you seven days a week” isnt. Their whole attitude towards the video changed once Latto showed up and this is pretty much on par when K-pop groups like BTS collab with Black hip-hop/R&B artists, especially Black women.
Chacha, my good girl, don't ever change!!! You are the friend everyone wish to have in their lives!🤩
the realistic "3 times a week" joke made me actually lol
OMG, your reactions were so funny and relatable
He literally says “f*cking” but Latto saying “seven sheets” is too sexual… ok lol
When a woman does it suddenly it's ten times worse, not to mention when a black woman does it...
@@laraconde exactly... its not what she's saying they have an issue with, it's who's saying it.
@@laraconde I love the girls and they generally have a open view of other people/nationalities/countries/etc, but I *immediately* felt a little off after they kept commenting on Latto's innuendoes vs his VERY OBVIOUS STRAIGHTFORWARD words. And they LOVED his lyrics and thought they were so naughty and coy.
@@Bee-rt5qfalso their comment on viewing rap as inherently more sexual? a lot of issues here, sadly
@@laraconde unfortunately Korea has a very infantilized view of women. They're supposed to be tiny, feminine, and perpetually between the ages of 18-20. ESPECIALLY in music/idols.
Any female artist that even *slightly* tries to grow up or branch out is instantly bullied and shunned by their fans. 🙄
Also why I don't talk about kpop at all; the fans are so toxic about any little thing instead of actually enjoying the music. I just do me, and I will deff blast Latto's lines. Get it girl
After all the reactions ive seen to his song this is the one i didnt knw i NEEDED LOL yall are to cute!
I died when they got to the Cha Cha slide part LMAO ! Winee fucking lost it! Omg I loved all their comments.
the outrage for latto’s verse when they were saying the exact same thing is killing me😭
"I feel like americans would be uncomfortable humming this song" Own, they are so cute *me humming WAP every other day*
There is a song/dance called the cha cha slide. See if you can find it and let cha cha listen to it
Its so interesting how they said his parts were sexual in too in your face. Had me wondering about the translation. Even Latto's parts were more inuendo than direct in my opinion. This is what its like for us international fans usually 😂. Anyway, this was fun. When the sheet came out I was cracking up. And "now I understand why Han So Hee is sick of him." The universal agreement that 7 days of sex is too much but saying 3 days doesnt sound as good, lmao.
Jungkook's part has lots of innuendos. If you translate them and explain them anyone can understand. Just looking at English lyrics most can miss them. I've seen so many people who understand English didn't get some innuendos in his part. Like "break me off" part is a sex term. Not many people got it.
It's written by American writers and I'm sure they wanted it that way.
Well, my theory is it is week two
@@lakshi9276 Yeh! It doesn't seem like they understood the "You wrap around me and give me life" as well LOL
@@suzienightingill6561 Exactly. Like in almost every line throughout the whole song there are many sexual innuendos. And I'm not talking about the explicit version. It's weird when some fans say other version changed the meaning when it's always been there. (Like kissing the waist is very specific. That's the beginning of the song and that tells you exactly what it is. Like why waist? Because it's going south. Just picture that scene in the head and that it. I can't believe lot of people didn't get it.)
I'm surprised majority of English speakers failed to pick up all the meanings. I've seen maybe like 2 people who got all of the hints. I've watched many reactions but they never picked up all them innuendos. It's written by American writers so they wrote it that way. It's just that one word made it more bold. But the song is already that way. Anyone can take it in a romantic way if they want of course. Since American writers wrote it I'm sure they knew what they were doing with it.
@@lakshi9276 Maybe it has to do with how innocent you are. I'm not a native speaker, I'm french canadian and I understood the song, both non explicit and explicit one ha ha
As an American, I sing that “7 days a week, 7 different sheets, 7 different angles” part with PRIDE 😂😂 that’s the best part of the feature for me
Now let's have them watch the dance performance version. My heart stopped so many times 😂
Jungkook is forever my favorite 💜 Seven is so good 🐰🎰
“What does f*cking mean?” Took me out. Hahaha.
the way they said Latto's verse was too explicit when JK's was just as if not more explicit felt like a microaggression
fr
I was thinking the same thing!
yea definitely rubbed me the wrong way. like saying " 7 sheets" is worse than "fucking you right"??
fr same, like …😬
definitely when they said i feel like it’s extra sexual cause of the rap and the rap was literally so tame, shit even compared to Yoongis music that rap was tame
Thanks! MJ look at you grinning from ear to ear and drooling too my goodness 😂😂
They had no issues with jungkook parts but felt Latto’s part was too explicit. Very weird take by them
Hahahahaha love how the girls are so shy.
I've been listening to Kpop for ten years and even though I'm American, hearing cursing in Kpop is just so rare that it does illicit a bit of that "omg did they really just say that" and cover my mouth out of surprise sort of reaction. It also just depends on the person, I'm not sure I'd be singing the explicit version even while driving around town alone in my car.
same i'm a kpop fan since 2015. maybe only new kpop fans don't understand our surprise to hear the lyrics.
and plus: nowadays swearing in kpop songs is not so uncommon.
really? been listening to kpop and kmusic since 2009 and his language doesn’t even match up to some of the worst i’ve heard lol
Jungkook is a f*cking legend fr 😭
He is singing *"LOVING"* in the MV.
The explicit version isn't in the MV. In the music video he sings "loving you" so he is not saying "fµcking you" to her face.
Someone should clarify to them that there are 2 different versions. "Fµcking you" is only in the explicit version.
i've been blasting the explicit version a lot but why am I blushing and cackling watching this lmaooo
"I get shy about the fact that Jk did this" EXACTLY, i listen to wayyyy more explicit lyrics from other artists but because it was SO unexpected coming from jungkook, i got so flustered
1:04 The way she got offended is so me 😂 He's our pride, our golden Maknae
😂 when latto said cha cha's name they were so excited hahahahaa
Jungkook is quit good in english song. Love it
The more i watch them the more i fall for MJ 😂 She’s a vibe and fun to hang out with
These girls were shocked but accepting. They're hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣
I thought the ladies reacted to W.A.P. I'm surprised that anything shocking them after that, lol! It must be how sweet looking and sounding Jungkook is that's throwing them. I love watching the reactions of these women, they're a delight.
7:50 Cha Cha 😂
this video gave me a good overview of how growing up in an international community with contact only with my grandparents on the korean side gave me a personality that I could never adapt 100% in Korea
I loved your reaction! It was adorable. I think the music video was made regarding the clean version's lyrics and not the explicit version. It made sense with the clean version as according to my interpretation, jungkook was trying to convey that he will love her endlessly no matter what happens (earthquake, flood and the heavy rains)
Please show Cha Cha that the Cha Cha Slide is a fun harmless dance we do at school functions 😅😂
The cha cha cha slide Latto talking about is a diff one than the dance 😂
@@documentarygirl8 yes.... but she won't know that! And it's the original Cha Cha even if it's not the oldest 😅🤣
Wow 😂 here in Africa we consume a lot of western music n our music too is explicit most of it from dancing to words as a BTS fan was happy that he had to go for it coz it has gone international it's first time I here their music on our radios here in Uganda.😂😂😂 Your reactions killed me I first posed my work to get the Korean reaction to this song
Not shy at all humming this or singing this song. I looooooove it 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💜💜💜🖤❤️😋
MJ has always been my favorite and she just kept solidifying it in this video 🤣🤣🤣
The "Cha cha slide" part is her name the 2nd girl, is so funny XD
8:14 "now i get why han so hee is so sick of him" LMAO
these girls are so funny haha
JK IS THE BEST
ohhhh i think the korean translations showed them the literal meaning of the song lyrics. cause the English lyrics are very figurative and makes it sound less explicit compared to other songs out here lmaooo😂
Jeon Jungkook !!
Cha Cha is the best on moment with cha cha slide 😅 I also have not heard of this song/dance, but it's just so cool when similar words suddenly pop up, you get to know more things)
idk, the lyrics pretty normal to me
The cha cha slide part had me rolling 🤣
This song was actually written 2 years ago by Jon Bellion, Cirkut, Thomas Thanes and Latto. Jon Bellion said the hook (Monday, Tues....) was "hitty", so he worked on the song in the studio. He said that he didn't write it with JungKook or anyone else in mind specifically. As Bellion didn't know that JK would record 1)a solo album and 2) in English. Bellion was blown away at the song's success. Because songwriters will tell you that they don't know what will become a hit or not. It all depends on the artist, production and timing of the music scene. So I don't know if JK would've written an explicit version himself. But he feels fine with it as he selected to record the song. And the man is 26 years old. So his songs will reflect that.
Very risky. Made me blush 😊 too. Loved it.
cha cha slide was too funny😂. it was shocking hearing the explicit version at first but once you get used to it its so normal now and it helps that seven is such a good song so it's really easy to listen to❤
First time I heard it I was mildly suprised and I'm not American btw. and then thought he's an adult and it's not offensive.
It's hilarious and so cute how red they were all getting watching this! LOL The rap was really quite tame by US standards and people would definitely sing along in public to it.🤣
Cha Cha is the best because she says the quiet part out loud!
I didn’t want it to end! Omg this was so funny! I love how they didnt sensor their opinion and when they thought it was too much they said so. Please DONT look up what “cha cha slide” means 😂 That poor girl won’t recover 😂😂
Why is Lotto's verse more explict? JK sings the entire song and almost every line has a sexual aspect.
"Too explicit" they will die if they ever hear a brazilian funk song
I looooved their reactions 😂💜
the cha cha part being her name also made me laugh so hard bruh, these girls reactions are too funny, i love it
The fact that i became a fan of bts because they have such appreciatable and fantastic lyrics and can capture people with their songs which never consists of "explicit" lyrics....this is what made me truly truly love them a lot...but this new change by jk if not completely, kinda a little, changed the way how i admired or saw him before, its not that i don't love him the same, but i just feel vert different now....i don't know if anyone can relate to me...
Don't mistake me.
Yes i do listen to TONS of explicit songs, but I'm not a "fan" of that artist.
Something that i really loved is that they don't sing sexual lyrics even tho they sing love songs and they themselves are such good human beings made me admire them a lot and made them have a part of my soul!
But after this new change and singing an all english song with this sexual lyrics or whatever by jk made me feel very different....idk why but i felt like something that i deeply felt for them deep inside me really changed....and im still trying to adjust to this new change....
Its not that he can't sing such lyrics or whatever, yes he can, but the artist whom i admired for NOT making music in a sexual way in this generation and leading the music industry was what made me fall in love with bts as a whole, but after his release of this song, literally changed some deeeppp feelings that i always had for them (i mean him)
I hope there is someone who felt or feels the same....
I know I'm supposed to love whatever my favourite artist makes, but this song is nor something i can proudly say that i like which the person i love has made......he could have chosen a different way to show his maturity is what sometimes i feel, no matter what others say, this is what he intended isn't it? Lol
I still love him the same, don't attack me...its just that no matter how much i love and admire him and bts, i can never be proud of this song of him....haa
their reactions is too pure oh my 😂😂😭
I mean by American standards this is honestly tame and outside of the 'fucking you right' everything is innuendo. Plus I think this was JK's song to finally tell people that he's no longer that kid that grew up in bts, he's a grown ass man now!
Facts , people were screaming wap during pandeminc to the top of their lumgs and the other song by post Malone , their is nothing shocking about this song , but is the fact that he is Korean that shocks people
Really the only reason people were shocked by the explicit version was because it was jungkook singing it not necessarily because we found it “too much” the song is not too explicit at all lol
I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda side-eyeing the comment about latto's lyrics being too sexual in comparison to jk's lyrics. If anything jk's lyrics are more direct and leaves little for interpretation and latto's lyrics are way more nuanced. The fact that they pre-emptively assumed it was going to be more sexual before she even started 'because its rap' says a lot as well.
There were other things in the reaction but I had to stop watching at that part.
I think they were just shocked by her tiddies so it made her whole verse shock them
I don't know if these people reacting are playing it wayyy up for the video or if they really are so.... dumb....
I feel like they started judging the book just bt its cover.
They made assumptions by seeing her dressing style, being her a western rapper etc., rather than focusing on her lines.
Even with jk parts, they didn't focus much on his singing and music, mv and all, they literally focused on talking about explicit parts
Thank god others picked up on this too, it annoyed me
We want this kind of reactions
Great reaction
them saying that we would be uncomfortable to sing this song when western artist release more explicit songs than this 😭
How flustered they are is so adorable! Admittedly I was also giggling when I heard the explicit version cause I didn’t expect it from JK but as someone in the US who’s used to very unsubtle sexual lyrics this was very tame so I liked it and figured JK produced it aiming for a US audience which makes sense lol
I'd chacha slide right next to chacha ❤😢😂
Latto part is actually quite tame and matches the song. Also the mv isnt about JK stalking or following her its about him always on her mind lol
the girl on the far right is so funny! love everyones reactions
CRYING THE WAY THEY WAS GRIPPING ON TO DEAR LIFE
They're all so cute and innocent 😂
It's only surprising to us cause BTS doesn't usually curse. But when they do... it's kinda hot
They curse often tho lol it's more related to it being explicitly sexual
it's only surprising because the tannies do it so rarely (and in the last few years like 2019-2020 forward they have started to more openly and more often to curse which I'm all for) but they have always had potty mouths 😭😭 love them fr
Do the Cha Cha slide! The guy behind the song, DJ Casper recently passed away :(
THE CHA CHA PART LMFAOAOAO
I love watching these lmao, its so interesting how different koreans see things, especially as an American bc these lyrics are pretty normal
As an American, I am completely comfortable humming and singing this song out loud. (referencing to 7:17)
There's a army next to that girl....the one going woah.....she's so adorable army's sure are so pretty ❤
It’s definitely way cleaner than most American music. So they are just sheltered lol
This is honeslty some of the tamest lyrics latto had sung😂
Definitely a culture difference. Cause this was really tame.
Love this video and the girls reactions 😂
their reactions were so fun!! 😭 i know jungkook will probably see this video since he’s been watching some reactions
Y'all need to loosen up😭
For me the first time i heard him sing the explicit version and the "f*cking you right" part came up there was only about a 5 - 10 second mental pause of he just said that...😀 after that it was just straight vibing singing along right with it. Explicit version is all i can hear and sing now. 🥰😆😂
shes like "the audacity hes main vocal bro" that was jokes lmao
Compared to other foreign artists' music, the explicit version is still subtle. We're just so shocked because Jungkook is the one singing it (he's a grown man ik but we're just not used to it)
ㅋㅋㅋ. . . 나이가 들수록. . . 내가 평생 들어본 말 중 가장 충격적인 말은. 너희들을 사랑
That was basically the same reaction I have every time I listen to it 😂😂😂
The mV is of clean version calm down guys😂
Maybe I’m a prudish American with an overactive imagination because I also was shocked when I realized what I was singing lol😂 but I’m easily embarrassed sometimes
The rap was actually so tame compared to other western songs 😭
When i tell you i was stressed when i heard the first f bomb 😂😂
This video was definitely interesting because it really shows you how like the thinking behind, cursing and sexuality among women in Korea. It’s just a bit weird like here in America. Usually these kind of reactions would come from children because they’re kind of new to curse words and sexual expression. So this definitely reminded me of myself literally like five years ago when I was a kid and I will get up in arms about a kissing or curse words. Also, when they were talking about how they associate curse words and western sexiness, with rap, I also found that really one path minded, as well. It just feels weird because this kind of behavior in America would be linked to immaturity whereas there it’s kind of like linked to some type of purity. It’s just extremely interesting because you can literally see the conservatism of Korea versus like the non-traditional America.
