    So its worth noting, When GoT shot the scenes on the wall, they did alot of it in part using an old Stone Quarry because it had a roughly 400ft sheer cliffside. They had GRRM on set and when he looked over the edge and found out how far down it was, he's gone on record as saying 'yeah, I made the wall to big'.

    I don’t know why but I find your Little Hangleton cemetery much spookier than the movie version. There’s something super creepy about trees and forests, I think it’s a claustrophobic thing. The one in the movie looks like a frozen desert.

    I love the concept and it's wonderful to see how you bring these to life. One small nitpick, though - I don't think the doors on the hobbit houses would be quite so massive. In my mind, they would likely be sized to the proportions of the inhabitants, much as ours are - not gigantic doors with knobs above head height... or maybe it's just that the figures you used were too small for the scene... Nah - the doors seem far too large for the proportions of the structures themselves.

    • @stephenlong9806
      @stephenlong9806 10 месяцев назад +1

      You have to remember, the hobbit holes with actually furnishing and doors and such were the equivalent of Mansions. Remember, only the poor and the rich still lived in Hobbit Holes, and Bilbo was basically a Hobbit Lord.

    • @dmoore8557
      @dmoore8557 10 месяцев назад +6

      @@stephenlong9806 I still don't think that even a hobbit Lord would put the door knobs above head height, do you? It makes no sense from either a construction point or a comfort point - and hobbits, especially well-to-do hobbits such as Bilbo, were all about comfort and security. The doors are described as perfectly round with a knob in the exact center. No where does it say the doors are proportioned to fill the entire front of the hobbit hole.
      Check out the scene of Bilbo meeting Gandalf in the movie. You can see that the doors are much more proportional to the height of the hobbit, not something where he would have to stretch up in order to reach the doorknob.

    • @jaredjohnson8553
      @jaredjohnson8553 Месяц назад +1

      @@stephenlong9806 The doors are massive but the structures are tiny. There are significant scale problems in this build. Also with the wall. I'm generally pretty impressed with Jazza's work but this one was a big miss.

    For Little Hangleton graveyard, I’ve always taken “fine old house on the hill” to be the Riddle Manor. Old manors in these sort of small villages are often near the church in the UK, so if I was to do it myself only tweak would be to put a grander manor on the hill rather than what looks like a cottage.

Thus, i imagine it would be smoother, and that you could maybe see the outline of the bricks under the ice, which would be much more pale. Also, i would love to see the stairs carved in ice, smoothed and withered. I loved that part.

    I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as the “drawing characters/creatures/monsters” stuff but you picked some of the atmospheric places that must have helped with the creation process.

    These minatures looks absolutely amazing. Would be so cool to DND in those small worlds.
    I believe the description of the wall specifies plural cages and steps of ice. Which neither you nor the show manages to capture?

    @Jazza, The one critique I have of the Shire is that there should be at least one hole that runs back into the hills for unimaginable lengths and branches off into a large number of rooms. Bag End in particular is described in how massive it is, and how far back into the hill it goes. As one of the richer homes in the Shire, it should really sprawl out. So, I appreciate the addition of the more traditional houses with round windows and doors, but... where are the expansive hills?

    Why does the Hobbit, from Hobbit Town, on the bridge, look like Badger from Beatrix Potter taking tolls, while also looking like Paddington Bear's long lost brother? 😄

    Absolutely epic performance my dude! I've always wanted to see how you interpret the different scenes from the books. Especially from The Lord of the Rings! Would love a similar project with regards to middle earth cities and arcitecture. Minas Tirith from the books is what immediately comes to mind. Love this content!

    I NEED another one of these!
    How about a Rick Riordan special?
    Camp Half-Blood from Percy Jackson (with all the cabins and the Hearth!), The 41st Nome (Egyptian tomb meets Brooklyn penthouse!) from The Kane Chronicles, and Hotel Valhalla from Magnus Chase! (Think the Grand Budapest meets a Vining Longhouse!)
    I know you would have a BLAST with them!
