- Time to finish off the willow crook spoon from part one. All knife work this time, apologies of the background noise, this one was shot at the weekend when the nearby microlight airfield is at it's busiest so quite a few planes flying close by but hopefully not too much of a distraction.

Thanks so much for showing the finishing cuts. I rarely see this part of the process and I very much appreciate it
Thanks for sharing Lee! Really nice spoon. Cheers
Thanks for the finishing cuts video!
Very much enjoyed the time in the woods with you Lee.
Take care -Chris
Cheers Chris, Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for commenting.
Great stuff man. Watching that scorp in action is a thing of beauty.
Cheers dude, glad you enjoyed it. Been watching a few of your vids lately, very entertaining, be great to hook up sometime.
I've just become a bodger so hopefully catch you at a festival or meet up some time. I'll be ordering a scorp from you in the near future my friend. Keep up the good work!
Nice one, yeah defo look forward to meeting up, just finishing a batch off that'll be listed later in the week, Cheers.
Great finish. Thanks again and take care.
nice one Lee, love that little bit of cambian you left.
Thanks, it's always a nice touch to leave a little evidence it was a crook!
😊real nice. Thanks for the information 😊
Stopped in again😊
Lovely finish Lee, did you find when you first started carving, as I have a couple of times, so far, and i am a newbie, carried on a tide of uforia with a spoon/ hook knife when carving out the bowl of a spoon.
Get so engrossed in the smoothness of the cutting and the way the shavings come off you end up going tight through the bowl of the spoon.
Yeh, I know, school boy error.
Cheers.
Les.
Haha, Hi Les, yeah of course don't think I've met a spoon carver yet who hasn't been there! 🤣
I didn't realize the leather necklace was new. I made one for myself right after I saw the first video! I thought it was a common thing for spooners. Thanks for the idear!
Nicholas Jonas they're a good portable option. I usually wear a leather apron with a chest pocket that does the same job and offers a bit of leg protection too but I don't usually take that camping!
Enjoyed it Lee ! Nice spoon !
Like the Bib idea.
Would've liked more close ups to really SEE your knife work.
Such exemplary techniques are worth examining in depth.
Thanks for showing more techniques for avoiding abrasives with such esthetically pleasing results.
Look forward to more.
Loved the outdoor setting.
Makes me homesick for the mountains of New Mexico's Gila National Forest.
Need some version of that bib ;) I keep getting light bruises on my sternum ;)
looking good. Like the leather shield u made to hang on u neck. Need to make me one
Yes they're quite handy. In the workshop the pocket on my apron does the same job.
Bib seems like such a good idea I wonder if any others use them
ibcatchin1 oh yeah its nothing new, sometimes there made of wood too.
Very nice video, Lee. I appreciate these real-time carving videos. A suggestion for next video is to use the soundtrack from one camera, the camera closest to you, and use that all the way through. Better quality sound and a seamless feel between the cuts. :) Great job mate!
Hampus Ettehag thanks very much. I think I'll get an external mic at some point, not sure how easy it would be to sync up the footage in the basic editing software I use if I used the soundtrack from one camera throughout. Buy might give it a try next time. Cheers.
Nice spoon.also handy leather things in the neck.😀 Gonne make me one.i had one from Wood but hard leather i think is better.👍
Cheers, Yes the leather has enough flex to keep things still, well worth the five minutes and scraps it takes to makes one.
i am going to start my first spoon very soon
Excellent, good luck with it. Have fun.
maybe next time you can make a spoons carving video from start to finish..
Would be nice to do a point of view may be better in future
Btw great video love the handle contrast excellent
Lee Michel cheers, I already did video from the carvers pov a while back. Axework footage is a bit wobbly but if you can stand it the whole process is covered.
+Lee Stoffer nice job dude you got a Twitter we can learn lots from each other too be great to chat to w fellow carver 👍🐾🐺
+Lee Stoffer I find a small hole in chest protector stops job slipping 👍🐾🐺
Nice one, whatever works for you.
