Property taxes are high? I originally looked at Detroit Metro, you guys are like 3-4x cheaper than that and cheaper than what I’d pay in CA. Could you create a map of the schools district lines in GR? I’m pretty dialed in with the SEVs and accurately figuring out my monthly, but I’m not sure what the school district lines are in the city and that would be a huge help in helping me in my home search. Sure it’d be helpful for others too 👍
I’m from Miami, FL. My husband is from South Haven and he went to GVSU. We met while living in Los Angeles. Now we live in Arlington, VA (just outside of D.C.). We’re thinking about moving back to Michigan (we lived in Kalamazoo our first year of marriage in 2020). We have two young kids, and are debating between Holland and GR. I know the vibes are totally different but the safety issue is a big one for me. I know that’s ironic considering I’m from Miami and love LA, but I hear it’s worse in GR. Is there a good resource for figuring out which areas truly are safest?

All the parking garages hinder people from coming downtown, plus corewell health is taking up too much space on michigan ave and beyond.
