I was so goddam afraid of that level as a kid! I would skip it everytime through all my playthroughs.
Jared Rose Same. I only ever completed it once back then. When you go to the pelican and see The Arbiter with the flamethrower, that is one of my fondest video game memories. And the thing was, my mom made me play the games on mute because of “bad language,” so I had no idea who this elite was or why he wasn’t trying to kill me like in Halo: Reach, but I knew then that he was the greatest ally in any game, and I didn’t even know his name. I just knew him as “Ealie.”
Gravemind is actually not that bad on LASO compared to other levels. I'd say it was in the top 10 but not top 5. Hardest level on LASO would be T&R then just after is The Library.
brendanmeister The Library from Halo CE is my #1 hardest LASO level. And while there may be levels that are more difficult for people on varying degrees, we have to account for one factor: It's RoosterTeeth's Let's Play crew.

Thankfully I read this comment before watching this video. It was hard to distinguish between the two snipers on the left so this will be based off of both of them combined (assuming I counted right). Note: One of the kills was not shown in the video but Michael said one killed him at the same time another person was killed so I'm counting that.

This shows how many people don't understand how the Iron skull works. The iron skull restarts the mission when you die, but it doesn't stop the checkpoints from registering. What this means is that there is a period after dying that if you save and quit the mission you'll keep the last checkpoint. It's how I finished Halo 4 LASO. @Nick Hoffman You don't comment if you have zero idea what you're talking about.
xXSHAWNXx420 the skull specifically says that it resets the checkpoint if you’re playing on coop and resets the mission when playing solo

I'm imagining what it would be like to complete 'Cortana' LASO, and it's giving me Vietnam flashbacks.
It wasn't bad. I've done it. The ark was bad. That took me 3 hours to beat with a team of 4.
Yeah Cortana is by far (other than Floodgate) the easiest LASO mission. The Ark is a pain and Sierra 117 to me is the worst one.
Flood levels on LASO are surprisingly easier. Yeah you have the fast as fuck spiker forms but no grenade spam. Also you can punch your shields back a lot
Cortana you can actually sprint through almost half the level if you have map knowledge and just keep moving because a lot of the doors close as soon as you go through them. But the last level... defending the Monitor as he opens that door... pure hell
I don't blame anyone for the high Death count, That sniper is a prick.

Well, Gavin also seems to forget they exist every once in a while and get shot.
Maybe the Halo 3 snipers. The Halo 2 snipers are more like hackers that glitch out of the map with aimbot and camo.
Jack ends with over 70 deaths. And its hilarious when they beat it

usually the lack of progress would irritate me eventually, but in this case its somehow endlessly entertaining regardless (god I could never play Halo like this, I'm not good/masochistic enough)
I'm loving it because they're not being dumb or anything, they're trying their hardest and failing anyway. It's beautiful.
I'm completely different, when I'm doing Halo legendary I don't get angry because it's pointless. I know eventually I'll figure out how to win every engagement and I do with time

The thing with LASO is you make very small increments of progress until you eventually finish the level or get the next checkpoint, trying different tactics and strategies until you get it, it’s very satisfying seeing the level ending cutscene
It's a lot more entertaining to watch them fail when you know you wouldn't do any better. If you've played an easy game a lot, or in some cases at all, it just becomes a nagging feeling of knowing they'd be doing a lot better if they just took a 5 minute setup before filming for everyone to go through the tutorial first, or even film the tutorial too, and toss it in at the beginning if there's good content.
With this, you know the only people they're doing worse than are insanely dedicated Halo 3 players.
I really hope they try and do the entire campaign.
I just played through the campaign a couple days ago, and those Flood levels are just the worst. No way those are possible on LASO.

People saying it’s impossible but it is indeed 100% possible...LASO is a heavy skill based challenge, if you’re not prepared for each level to take at least 3 hours and retrying each level a few times you won’t prevail, people have the achievement and there’s no way for you to glitch them so it’s possible, claiming it’s impossible just means you don’t have the skill to do it

Michael Bluett normally I'd agree, but Jeremy keeps doing it wrong. He's supposed toss the bubble sheid right when his team drops so they will be protected. But instead he tosses it early before they have a chance as a joke. Every. Single. Time.

They are extremely low on precision weapon ammo. I think the only precision weapons they have at the first checkpoint is Michael and Jeremy's BRs...

I like that Gavin is decently useful in this playthrough - a middling number of deaths, decent kills, and his crazy strategies sometimes end up paying off.

Its easy to get past sniper alley in Halo 2. Just jump on the rooftops which you can use to skip all the way to the motel
I really hope they continue with this series past the first mission. I haven't laughed this hard at a video in a while, and something about them playing Halo I've just always enjoyed.

I played a halo 3 laso playthrough with friends once....I believe it took us a whole weekend full of countless snacks/ slices of pizza, and we had about 1200 deaths a piece by the end of it.
and I JUST finished watching the previous episode! Today is heaven~

Is anyone else thinking about the strategy of not “jumping” off the ledge and maybe just walk down? Jumping only increases your hang time. I don’t want this to be one of those comments that just criticizes their skill or strategy, I know how much they LOVE that!

This is actually one the hardest level to laso because of the sniper layout on legendary. Arguably the hardest
Personally crows nest was way harder. Maybe my style of play? But regardless it's all a good challenge
There is a tunnel on the right of that ledge you can use to get down. It is a safer route down and gives you another angel on the Sniper Jackals.
