Hello from Sydney! I'm a fellow designer trying to get back into the industry after I left my toxic job a few years ago and have worked in a different industry since. It's really inspiring to me hearing your story and how you've come to be in the present. I love the idea of branding your wedding, that sounds so fun! I don't think that AI will remove graphic designers as a whole but I do think it will make it more difficult for people of lower skill levels and just starting out to establish themselves in the industry. I also think there'll be a trend in design toward more organic, less perfect design as a niche because AI will create the more perfect, polished work with minimal effort and cost. This really inspired me. One of the things I'm doing is a 50 day logo design challenge (non-consecutive due to external commitments and recovering from pneumonia), as well as finding brands in the "wild" that need a helping hand (e.g. a cleaning business I see frequently has comic sans as their typeface with an MS Word clipart of a cleaner) and redesigning those as a passion project (inspired by a designer from NYC who goes around redesigning posters and reposting the updated design to assist with increasing their business). I hope you stay warm and enjoy the sun we've had lately. 😇
I'll be a graphic designer too and I really love your videos too ❤ keep going and can you please make videos for more ideas to add in our portfolios . I live in India I think that no one really values a GRAPHIC DESIGNER very much that's why I wanna do something that I can show what graphic designers really are
I always try to create something that I would wanna see online or on the market and create a made-up brand/client and briefing for it. That way I can make exactly what I would want to do for an actual client. I love creating a Podcast branding and content or like some product that I would want for me. A product that fixes a need I have❤
ill be graduating at the end of this year in graphic design and i was just wondering networking wise in australia, what opportunities have you had to actually network? do you go to graphic designer meet ups? is it all online? just wondering as i am debating if i was to freelance straight away or if i should go to a studio for the first year or so lol ❤
I love working with typography a lot so I specifically try to take on projects where I can use those skills! But I’m actually enjoying social media design work more as well
how do you think about that you should can do all the skills what currently the clients etc wants? Did you get thoughts of how I can keep up with others etc. Do you have some advice there? This is just my worries. And do you sometimes struggling as a freelancer to have a ''normal full time'' Job or a new education for safety? The Job Life It's so hard really :(
