Really good stuff dude. Can almost imagine a soldier from the time doing exactly what you're doing here, just chilling under a tree and singing a spell before continuing the march.
A really lovely performance- I greatly appreciate that you sung one of the 300 year old versions (my favourite in fact) rather than the Tams version from Sharpe! 🏴
Hello! it doesn’t have a maker labeled on it. It belonged to someone in the village’s great grandfather who was a civil war vet. Donated to the college in the 70s and has been held by my professor ever since. Hope that helps!
Playing a fantastic English folk song with amazing fingerpicking on a really cool antique guitar? Now that’s guitaring! (Sorry, obligatory Sharpe joke)
Best version I’ve ever heard, it’s a shame this doesn’t have more recognition.
I have no idea why there are ads on this video, I didn’t monetize it, it’s not even my song.
Just wonderful. I can't believe you just heard this song and are already playing it and singing it so well!
Very good my friend.
I'll always remember watching Sharpe with my grandad as a kid, its a part of the reason I joined the Royal Canadian Regiment Infantry
