I made this for the student composition concert we're hosting this year in May. Initially inspired when I was watching the sun rise while working at the park, I ended up associating this tune more with the Geneseo area once I came back to school. It's supposed to be themed around the entire course of a sunrise, starting from first twilight, to a full sun in the sky and people starting their day...

Hope you like it. I started learning viola four years ago as a classical music student but fell in love with the fiddle sound about a year ago. Every day I practice and try to get a little better. This is one of my favorite tunes.

"Over the Hills and Far Away" is an old English folk song dating back to at least the 17th century. I'm playing it on a guitar made in 1833, making it 190 years old exactly. I heard this song for the first time this morning and couldn't get it out of my head until I recorded it. Hope you guys enjoy it!
