Thank you for making such kind of videos which are easy to understand😊… I am an optometrist I am watching all videos which are uploaded on your channel and it’s very helpful for me, I would request you to please make videos on all about Dispensing Optometry and Role of Dispensing Optometrist because I didn’t found more videos on YT and you will explain it well 😁.

In extented keratometer , càn we add & reduce , +9. _6 directly from what we get the keratometer value? Is it correct or wrong sir. Then how did we get that constant value 1.185 & 0.840. can you explain sir
We can't directly add or reduce +9 or -6 from actual keratometer. Try understand this... The mires size we use in keratometer is fixed. So when we use a plus lens it will magnify the image of mires. In keratometer this calculation is done automatically by using the formula r= 2i/o. Now, as o or object size is fixed and i or image size is magnified the r or radius of curvature will more than the normal value. Now, when we get the radius of curvature from keratometer, dioptric power of Cornea is identify using the formula: N1 - N2/r. N1 or Refractive index of keratometer is fixed that is 1.3375 and N2 is refractive index air that is 1.00. So, ultimate formula becomes, 1.3375 -1.00/r or 0.3375/r. Now, as value of r is higher than the normal because of using a +1.25 lens so dioptric power of Cornea becomes less than the normal value. It is found that if we multiply the reading by 1.185 when we use +1.25 lens we get actual dioptric power Cornea.
Thank you so much forsuch a great video you had done.....really its very very helpful to me......very easy to understand sir....tq once again sir

Please sir, why will you get 48D after adding +1.25D to 52D and How will you get 36 after adding -1.00D to 36D?
Very nice explanation

n1= refractive index of cornea? or keratometer
Refractive index of Keratometer not cornea.
