May have had a "crappy" kit from the Swapmeet, but it's all hit, and tune skill so don't believe any kit is crappy unless wood shells are just expired. I've walked by Vic so many damn times without even recognizing him until later kids were like dude! That's Vic from Pierce The Vail, maybe even walked by Mike without even realizing it. I wonder if he actually rocks S family permanently because I see the new Slipknot drummer, August Burns Red, and Twenty One Pilots drummer rock, or promote them as well or did this for promotion? Anyways.. my brother from the original My American Heart band Jeremy bought me the S series pack! They cut right through as B8 bronze specialty cymbals. To me they are kind of ringy, but a good bang for the buck and are studio quality meaning the eq of their sound can be tweaked to sound like any quality live, or studio cymbal. With a live band, the ring is not present, and they sound awesome. They replace the ZHTs 10 fold!

The price is because of the new material they've perfected. B12 alloy i believe. But they just sound so sweet! (i have 3) To me they sound better than the A/A customs which are the most popular rock cymbals (wich are very expensive) S series is more "sizzling" and crisp if that makes sense. Doesn't pierce your ears as bad because it's like there is a bit more body to them, and i feel like they're pretty versatile for different genres. I mostly play rock and metal though, but you can get them in different variants to suit you. Good "youth cymbal"

Expensive?! Not at all these are by far the best cymbals for their price range they are cheap enough for someone with a tight budget to get their hands on and not expensive like ks as and orientals as well as other high end series

MickeyMusic bottom head- tight as you can without popping it. Top head you also want to get pretty tight.
