IF he does request a trade, thats a huge if, NY will probably be on the top of his list but as is tradition he will not end up a Knick. My guess is OKC makes the gamble with Zion, Sam Presti is armed with almost 20 1st round picks over the next decade, NO will look to acquire as many picks as possible and OKC is the team that can give them what they want. Its a great move for both franchises, including Zion. Great fanbase and a young team led by a 25 year old superstar in Shai. It just makes the most sense. As a Knicks fan, it'd suck to lose out on him a second time, but if NO blows the team up Ingram will be available too and hes a player we would love to have. Great complementary wing next to Jalen.
I think Dame for Zion & a 2023 1st makes sense. Dame rejoins CJ on a title contender. Zion gets to join some young guns w/o the pressure to win. Blazers get another lotto pick in a loaded draft in case Zions health remains an issue. 3 picks in the 1st plus #43 in this draft would get POR a great young core with Sharpe & Simons.

@@GoatLife755 Zion is nothing like Simmons. He's a champion, a strong willed leader. He is young and inexperienced and there are certainly things he can try to be less injury prone (according to his GM), but he will get there eventually. I'm sure Simmons will be better at some point, but they are not comparable at all.
I get that it was very hard and emotional for him to be constantly injured and to hear some really harsh and personal critic or bad mouthing from fans and media. But at the end of the day he is a professional athlete. And as medical student AND somebody who struggled with gaining too fast (muscle & fat) weight all my life i 100% know how critical it is to just F*ING MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT to play ball efficiently. How is a "professional athlete" not able to stay lean. Its your damn job! He got doctors, professional chefs, personal trainers. Other than us normal ppl he just needs to work out and stick to his 5 course diet menu he surely gets to eat every day bc there are ppl there for him to cook and check his health. Lay down the chips bag and be a grown up.
Ive had four ankle surgeries during high school & I never ballooned up in weight. I spent many months in a cast, crutches, or a boot. If, I could do it with state insurance, he can do it as a 22 year old man. His job literally pays him millions to stay play a sport. Staying in shape should not be a problem.
From injury prone AD to injury prone Zion. Nevertheless, the AD trade got them Ingram --- a player who seems to be on the upward trend is more reliable to be available.
As a pelicans fan Zion going nyc doesn’t help his injury history. Truth be told we can’t win with BI and Zion on the same team. Him not playing is frustrating as hell and I’m not buying his mental block because he’s doing 360 dunks during warm ups. This season either he puts up or shut ups.
You're not an unrestricted FA at the end of your rookie contract if you don't sign an extension. You're restricted. I hesitated to post this comment because I kinda assumed it was just a mis speak but I did anyway because the way you were framing his potential for leaving it almost felt like you thought he could just go somewhere else if he didn't sign the extension which is obviously incorrect.
The question is is his weight issues due to lack of discipline or lack of motivation due to the team he’s playing for? If it’s the 2nd option, then a change of scenery could help. If it’s the former, then it doesn’t really matter where you send him to
He's lazy. It's been reported that he doesn't go the extra mile. He shows up to practice & mandatory workouts but that's it. He mainly works out by himself with his stepdad. He has a chef but no personal trainer nor nutritionist. He is on video laughing at CJ for how much he stretches. He apparently loves playing basketball but not the work required to play. He doesn't wanna shoot jumpers cause of how efficient shots at the rim are & he believes that him losing too much weight would negatively impact his success on the court. These issues will be an issue for his entire career. I personally don't see him playing past 28-30.
Knees, ankles... mental stability. Let's face it, basketball careers that basically start in high school are burning these guys out. They're 55 by the time they're 25.
With the right branding team and management, an athlete can be bigger than the “market” he’s playing in. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a sexy town like LA or NY. A place like NO, Charlotte, or OKC could be great considering the media pressure could be manageable unlike big market cities.
Zion doesn't care about the game similar to Ben Simmons. Guy doesn't want to do the small things to be a perennial All-Star, like cut weight and show his organization he cares. He has literally played less games for the Pels than Lonzo. Let that sink in. Kid has legendary talent, unfortunately he has a scrub mentality.
So let's also think about it this way: Maybe Zion is really not feeling 100% and wants to make sure he can be as healthy as he can not only for his career but for the future of the team. Maybe he does realize that the team is ready to compete and would LOVE to play but he doesn't want to risk losing all of that just because of another unfortunate injury. Maybe he's willing to put in the work and return to the team and not planning on requesting a trade. Why does no one give him the benefit of the doubt? He's never been on the media talking about how unhappy he is and stuff, right? Why are we molding him into a disgruntled star? I just don't get it.
Because views! That's why. A lot of people in the new media try to pretend they are not like the old Media (TV Shows, Radio, etc), when they are exactly the same: they will stirr controversy, all for the clicks
If he wanted to come back, he wouldn't be 30+ lbs overweight constantly, year after year. Also he wouldn't be quitting on his own talented team that has a playoff spot potentially. Just says he doesn't give a f about his team. Nola can keep him.
Please my brother and me said this the day he came to the nba. We said that he will never play a full season not playing like that and being that big. Destroys your knees, joins and everything else. It’s like Derrick Rose just bigger and heavier
Zion for Jalen Brown + Marcus Smart. Zion for Wemby. Zion for Beal + Kuzma. Zion for Zach LaVine + Alex Caruso. Zion for Karl Anthony Towns. Zion for Rudy Gobert + Naz Reid. Zion for Bam + Herro.
i think it's best for both parties to move on. They know each other best and know what's going on behind closed doors. I'd deal him out and at least see what certain teams would give up. That Gobert trade would've been more understandable if it was for Zion and not Gobert. A team paying for as much as they did for Rudy might not be so keen to dish out something similar for Zion.
I've been saying this for a long time. Before you break out nba2k for your trade options, I'm just gonna say at this point take Julius Randle for him straight up
They should of never offered the Max contract, Joel Embiid sat on the bench because he was told too, but you can see his desire to win a championship now, In Zion all you see is the desire for money and possible moving to a bigger market.
Everyone should start questioning the STEP DAD. The team medical staff cleared him to play. The STEP DAD said Zion was 99% healthy but wanted him at 100% to in that play in game. The STEP DAD is behind all of the head scratching decisions.
Why do people assume Zion doesn't want to be in New Orleans? I feel like the NBA news cycle just wanted him to be a Knick so badly to the point that they ignore every action and word out of his mouth. I understand the argument of him being practically forced to sign a max rookie extension, especially given his injury history, but the fact remains you don't sign with a team for 5 years if you don't at the bare minimum like where you're at. If he was really unhappy with the Pels he woulda signed then requested a trade, or at least express his contempt publicly like most stars do nowadays.
@@Romanus-I get that for sure but I think he's honestly trying to get back on the court and play but his body won't let him. He's the same weight as a big like Embiid but is like 6 inches shorter (which isn't a new thing he's always been around this BMI). I just really doubt it's all lack of effort stemming from him wanting to be traded.
You answer you own question perfectly. Everyone wants a healthy Zion on their team. He draws a large (mostly younger) crowd and is a spectactular player to watch. The reason people try to create the narrative that he isn't happy on the Pelicans is that they want him on their own NBA team, no more no less.
Dude you're a generational type player, put the work in, drop 30-50 lbs. And be the superstar we all know you can be. Men would die to be in your position and you're seemingly throwing it away. If my normal ass can lose weight without millions of dollars in diet and exercise expertise for next to nothing, you surely can. Step up Z, be what we all know you're capable of being.
As a pelicans fan with insider info I’m not tripping. I know what’s going on and I’m not even worried. The dude is reworking his physique. He dominated at 285 he dominated at 255, he’s a generational talent and he’s committed to NO
I wouldn't last as a GM. I'd trade him for a strawberry milkshake. Win or lose I'd try to have a team of people who enjoy and want to play basketball. More and more I'm convinced Zion just wants to get his dunks on espn and is satisfied with that. Probably all of his life he has been praised for how athletic he is, probably through very little effort on his part. But now the NBA is a challenge and maybe he's not feeling it. I wouldn't even be mad. You wanna go to the Knicks? Go ahead, make your money. Best of luck to them, hope they get your best effort (but I doubt it)
You can not compare Embiid to Zion. You knew Embiid wasn't going to play first year at all before the draft AND he had a legitimate set back during recovery. Since you spent a #3 pick on a player at Embiid's size to whom foot problems are very serious, rushing him back when he's not ready it could effectively end his career before it ever began. Hence his actual rookie season having minute restriction and no back to backs among other things. There was never any talk about Embiid not feeling like himself or being 50 pounds overweight either and Embiid was visibly frustrated that he wasn't allowed to play. You can not say the same about Zion. Before Zion got drafted we pretty much knew that he had the talent to immediately be a top 10 player in the NBA. He's still mostly the same player today as he was in Duke and that goes to show how unbelievably talented Zion was and still is. However, he isn't playing and, even if I'm completely wrong about Zion's character assessment, him speaking his mind to the media is only making everything that's going bad that much worse. The flashes of his talent are addicting and I see why it would be very difficult to choose to trade him, but the reality is that New Orleans roster is ready to compete and those windows usually last just a few seasons... So if the player who the team was designed around doesn't feel like playing I just don't see a happy ending for either party. Either way, something is horribly wrong in Pelicans organization and it needs to be fixed ASAP.
He needs to start playing and quit this ridiculousness. Young and healthy and still doesn't want to play. Totally frustrating player to root for as a fan.
Haven't thought about that too 😂. Dude wants to go some place where they'll probably rip him a new one. Considering how he thinks that him being injury prone is just a "label" put on him by the public? Yeah he'd be crying to his mama. Im all for him going to ny now 😂
Small market teams should start drafting foreign players like Giannis, Dirk, Olajuwon, Doncic, etc. since those players don't have a preferred US city cause they didn't grew up there.
As a New Orleans fan this is so demoralizing. Dude never even gave Nola a chance. This city was ready to make him the next Drew Brees. Sucks man

It’s New Orleans, one of best food cities in the world, you should get out more
Never been to nawlins. But I’m pretty sure they have a reputation for amazing food
Dude fr sounds like Steven crowder 😨😶😂
2:53 Suddenly vulnerable nuggets? How?
they were always vulnerable, not a true contender
@@DailyNihilism and they never will be
@@MrDwightsimon they could be some day just no team can do it with just one star. Murray could have been a star before injury
I wonder what he is worth at this point. No contender team is going to soak up this salary. No building team can take on his injuries.
Zion will go down as the greatest "what-if" storyline of NBA history.
I hope not
good video. i liked how you brought up the joel embiid comparison
"Pelican's had a chance to play the suddenly vulnerable Nuggets" O.K. ??? LMFAO
quality video, well edited, lot of info instead of speculation.
3:44 I know it's a hypothetical but I got Luka being MVP under 25
I miss the days of players giving their all for their team, and sticking around.
zion is the best charles oakley impersonator ever
He's Oliver Miller, Derrick Coleman and Ben Simmons rolled into one.
Dude at his size and build needs to be giving Zach Randolph effort.
Are you posting here more or the other channel
I think Dame for Zion & a 2023 1st makes sense. Dame rejoins CJ on a title contender. Zion gets to join some young guns w/o the pressure to win. Blazers get another lotto pick in a loaded draft in case Zions health remains an issue. 3 picks in the 1st plus #43 in this draft would get POR a great young core with Sharpe & Simons.
i support it. but god would i love to see zion dominate on the pelicans
Dame and CJ doesn't work. Why would NoLa shoot themselves in the foot like that?
@@wolverineminer Dame and CJ made the WCF with a good defense. So it would take a monster D around them to make up for their lack there of. Not sure the Pels would be down with that.
@@FranzFerdinand76 why would the Pelicans go get Dame? It doesn’t make any sense. CJ isn’t the second best player on the pelicans rn. I’d be down if the pelicans move CJ away so it can be BI Dame and Zion but I don’t want Dame if I’ll lose Zion and still be stuck with CJ.
@@FranzFerdinand76 that's the only time they made it far rest they lost the 1st round or 2nd round. CJ hasn't been that same all star caliber he once was and is a horrible defender
He seems like a guy who is so talented he has always done well without the commitment of most guys. He is set financially, good chance he apathetically eats/sits his way out of the league.
That's such a casual take
Like simmons
@@JoJo-oc8zf Not really though, many former players have made similar statements about him. His conditioning is still a major problem.
@@JoJo-oc8zf his contract literally asks him to stay under 295lbs , if he can't do that whats the point.
That Knicks trade is so bad haha I would never take that
Not giving it your all every time is the worst character trait. Why would you want him on your team? It never ends well.
I get that it was very hard and emotional for him to be constantly injured and to hear
some really harsh and personal critic or bad mouthing from fans and media.
But at the end of the day he is a professional athlete.
And as medical student AND somebody who struggled with gaining too fast (muscle & fat)
weight all my life i 100% know how critical it is to just F*ING MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT to play ball efficiently.
How is a "professional athlete" not able to stay lean. Its your damn job!
He got doctors, professional chefs, personal trainers.
Other than us normal ppl he just needs to work out and stick to his 5 course diet menu he surely
gets to eat every day bc there are ppl there for him to cook and check his health.
Zion doesn't have a full max contract, he has a bunch of stipulations and it's not guaranteed.
Good. He doesn't deserve a max
It’s a max rookie deal just not GUARANTEED
Still running w a bag he doesn't deserve
Don't worry, he will earn it at some point.
From injury prone AD to injury prone Zion. Nevertheless, the AD trade got them Ingram --- a player who seems to be on the upward trend is more reliable to be available.
They should of traded him before the season
Screw Zion. I’m trading him to Houston.
@@JayJay-he9bk for what a couple ball boys and a 2ed?
Dang I also remember Embiid being disappointed that he was drafted to Philly, could be the same
I feel bad for the Pelicans.
im really curious how zion will look when hes 30
Probably how Chuck looks now.
The dude was out there throwing down 360-windmill dunks in warm ups, but he couldn't play.😂😂😂
NBA players nowadays are no longer loyal. Owner is silly to give him the max contract
Your channels gonna blow soon. Keep doing what you’re doing this is put together great🖤🤝
You're not an unrestricted FA at the end of your rookie contract if you don't sign an extension.
If it’s the former, then it doesn’t really matter where you send him to
The sense of entitlement is astounding. Too bad these kids can't find the motivation to try hard for the team that's giving them $200 million.
@@luther1546 dude wants out on a good team 😂
The NBA pay enormous salary to young players who have not proven themselves. Win a ring then reward them.
With the right branding team and management, an athlete can be bigger than the “market” he’s playing in. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a sexy town like LA or NY. A place like NO, Charlotte, or OKC could be great considering the media pressure could be manageable unlike big market cities.
Force him to Miami they'll get him into shape real fast lmao
He deserves so much more hate than he’s getting. What a joke of a “superstar”
So max contract for a player who doesn't play is worth keeping?
Zion doesn't care about the game similar to Ben Simmons. Guy doesn't want to do the small things to be a perennial All-Star, like cut weight and show his organization he cares. He has literally played less games for the Pels than Lonzo. Let that sink in. Kid has legendary talent, unfortunately he has a scrub mentality.
Utah got rid of their best player and they haven't even missed the beat
He’s gonna want the “don’t tell me what to eat!! Get that weekly weighing clause out of the contract!!”
his career so far has been such a tease smh.
I just don't get it.
bc he is throwing windmill dunks before the game and fat as fick?
Just people having nothing to talk about. Zion himself said he doesnt want out
Because views! That's why. A lot of people in the new media try to pretend they are not like the old Media (TV Shows, Radio, etc), when they are exactly the same: they will stirr controversy, all for the clicks
I don't think him wanting to leave is the issue, it's the not wanting to play. He said he's physically fine.
If he wanted to come back, he wouldn't be 30+ lbs overweight constantly, year after year. Also he wouldn't be quitting on his own talented team that has a playoff spot potentially. Just says he doesn't give a f about his team. Nola can keep him.
You could always see this guys kness breaking down in the future right from the draft.
“We don’t get high we get FAT🗣️” -Lucki
Please my brother and me said this the day he came to the nba. We said that he will never play a full season not playing like that and being that big. Destroys your knees, joins and everything else.
It’s like Derrick Rose just bigger and heavier
Oh wow some assets that will certainly never live up to what Zion can be. Wow. That’s awesome.
Better than zion playing only 20 games a season plus not wanting to play for you
I won’t hire such character in my company.
If he’s unhappy ☹️ why he would sign an extension… the city just invested over 200 million dollars 💵 on medical bills and bandages
Have you ever heard about the obby elevator
I've been saying this for a long time. Before you break out nba2k for your trade options, I'm just gonna say at this point take Julius Randle for him straight up
They should of never offered the Max contract, Joel Embiid sat on the bench because he was told too, but you can see his desire to win a championship now, In Zion all you see is the desire for money and possible moving to a bigger market.
Everyone should start questioning the STEP DAD. The team medical staff cleared him to play. The STEP DAD said Zion was 99% healthy but wanted him at 100% to in that play in game. The STEP DAD is behind all of the head scratching decisions.
uncle dennis
Yall think he wants out? Because I'm getting the "I got my money, so I'm good" vibes....
What’s that trading app called?
Search NBA trade machine, and don’t pick the ESPN one!
You do when you’re a perpetually injured guy who is offered 200+ million dollars. No one is turning that down
@@Romanus-I get that for sure but I think he's honestly trying to get back on the court and play but his body won't let him.
@@Sandopolis "i get that for sure but im still gonna act like i didnt hear that and just go with my opinion anyway" 😂
How can Zion help a team to be contenders on 25 games per season?
The Knicks, or any NBA team for that matter would be nuts to want the injury-prone Zion.
People like to argue Embiid. But, the league is 75 years old, and can we even name a 2nd star who pulled this feat in those 75 years?
As Bob Marley said: Iron Lying Zion.
No half decent GM is giving up much for Zion. It’s too risky. Most likely will say with the Pelicans till he demands a trade.
I would trade Zion to the Jets for their best offensive lineman. Fair exchange.
He's lucky he didnt go to NY. The media and fans there would tear him up for always being injured and out of shape
Haven't thought about that too 😂. Dude wants to go some place where they'll probably rip him a new one. Considering how he thinks that him being injury prone is just a "label" put on him by the public? Yeah he'd be crying to his mama. Im all for him going to ny now 😂
Small market teams should start drafting foreign players like Giannis, Dirk, Olajuwon, Doncic, etc. since those players don't have a preferred US city cause they didn't grew up there.
doncic is forcing a trade to lakers soon mark it down
damn you're going in hard on him
