    Awesome job Wayne and great video! Love the “realness” you share with us during the process. You did it bud!! And thanks so much for the shoutout in the beginning, much appreciated amigo! Can’t wait to see how this project comes along! Cheers!

    Wayne: easily my favorite part about your channel is that you’re figuring it out as your go in all your videos. You’re not an expert. I can relate 😊

      Thanks - there's part of me that wished I had plopped it in the water before pulling it from the trailer - just to see how good/bad it is!

    Moving the cross brace was the clincher I was surprised how far you could roll forward after good job brother

  • @Dasato123
    @Dasato123 Год назад +7

    After the stern was on the blocks you should have chained the stern of the boat to a tree or the base of a stake behind the boat, no slack. Then when you pulled the trailer forward the boat wouldn’t pull forward with the trailer. Then proceeded with your original plan. Much simpler and faster than how you did it.

    Looks like there are lots of trees around. Could you have used a rope & pulley around a branch to lift the front of the boat up?

    Tip: use large foam blocks to rest the boat on. Benefits are that it molds to the boat and it doesn't damage anything. I used them on my pontoon boat

    You can tie the stern to the tree behind the boat and drive fwd slowly and put the blocks down after going fwd a few feet. Put some type of plywood of old carpet pieces between the boat and the block to not scratch the hull. It should slide off pretty easily and to put it back on the trailer, I used the winch on the trailer and I disconnected the trailer from the truck so it pulls the trailer under the boat.

  • @raleighbeersingh1501
    @raleighbeersingh1501 Год назад +2

    Weight of the boat should be resting on blocks and a 2×4 on top, under the keel beneath the transom. Side blocking are only for support and to stabilize The boat would be more stable and safer to b we under there moving the jacks...safety is priority.

    I just got a 12' fiberglass boat but they brought it to me on the bed of their truck. Now I have to figure out how to get it on the trailer when I get it... Probably going to have to pay some people to help me lift it. I can't even lift one side to put something under it.

      If you have some jacks and boards, and some imagination you might be able to work it out.

    I plan to just drop my boat into the water while I work on the trailer..
    I've had to put cars on my car trailer that don't have suspension and/or wheels, can't put those in the water. So what I've done is jack up and pull trailer forward until the cross member meets the jack, then move the jack behind the cross member. Very time consuming process. The other method I've used is a long cross 4x4 that I can support outside the trailer. Not so easy with a boat unless its a flat bottom.

    3:10, sound plan, but if you block up the back, then crank the trailer hitches to the sky, you can block the bow up that way, an move the trailer ahead, block up the "mid-ship" then ahead one more time to re block the bow up and the ti be good, but I just started the vid

      @@WayneTheBoatGuy if you had made 4 tripods about 3_4 foot higher when opened than the boat, set up in pairs on either side, possibly with a brace across if it is to be up long term, and used ratchet straps underneath, the boat could be lifted and left hanging to be worked on or until you were ready to wer it onto another trailer.

    Front part looked a complete faff. Rear part was fine but a A frame at the bow to hang the boat would have been a one hit system.
    Jim's little boat ( RUclips channel ) is also a good method and he gets a 22 foot yacht off his trailer.

    • @WayneTheBoatGuy

      It is on a trailer now? If it's up on blocks like this one, I would try to tip it on it's side and then lower it upside down with either 2-3 other humans or some means of mechanical assistance. Then jack it up on each "corner" to rest on the gunnels.

    VERY unsafe way to do this. The blocks should be doubled up and staggered as you stack them. Never stack them straight up, there’s no stability. You could kick it over. Please, don’t do this.
