1937 may have been the best birth year for actors, Jack, Dusty, Warren, Hopkins, Freeman and Jane Fonda. The best years of cinema may be behind us.
So true
ISHTAR SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!!!!!... such a billiant movie and you can tell by both Warren and Dustin raising there hands in solitude.. just shows you how passionate they were in making the film and how much they loved making it.. if you have not seen Ishtar, you should .. it is so funny!
I love that movie, I love Hudson Hawk....there are a lot of bombs that are very entertaining.
Thank God he not only mentioned Ishtar but said it shall rise again
Ishtar did rise again, on Blu-ray
Shirley nodding was the cherry on top
"..... And the best friend of Jack Nicholson" LOL
Warren. Dustin
"One foot in the grave award also known as the AFI Life Achievement Award."
Hysterical.
Beatty and Hoffman classic actors
Ishtar is woefully underrated.
After listening to Dustin Hoffman I'm going to buy Ishtar...a salute to Rainman, Midnight Cowboy and not forgetting Warren Beatty.
many great actors born in 1937 - Dustin Hoffman, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins...
Danilo Pochini Even Morgan Freeman
"A one-foot-in-the-grave award"... F*****g GENIUS.
THE MOVIE, "ISTHAR", IS A SCRIPT MADE BY ELAINE MAY. BEATTY AND HOFFMAN ARE DUO STARS .
THE TWO HAVE GONE OVER TO MIDDLE-EAST, AS TWO MUSICIANS, TO MAKE SOME MONEY, SOMEWHERE , LIKE AT A TOWN'S DRINKING BAR .
THEN, THEY REALIZE THAT THEY NEED TO ESCAPE FROM A SALOON, WHILE THEY WERE PLAYING.
AS THEY DID, THEY HAPPEN TO MEET A WOMAN, _ _ _ , ( A FRENCH ACTRESS), AND THEN THEY THOUGHT OF POSSIBLY TO MAKE HER WORK AS THEIR GUIDE .
THEN THE THREE OF THEM ENDED UP AT THE SAHARA DESERT, WHERE A BAND OF TERRORISTS AND GUNS -SMUGGLERS WERE AT BUSINESS ARRANGEMENTS.
I love Warren's face when Dustin keeps making jokes.
Out of all these clips, this is the best one I've seen so far.
Yeah, and when he did show up he was drunk and gave a very short slurred speech too.
@shamanofsexy90 jack nicholson is a big lakers fan and has never missed one of their games and they had a game on when this event was happening.
Thx for explaining
DUSTIN HOFFMAN IS PRICELESS.. A TRUE DIAMOND!!
Yeah but that's just not it. It's a known fact in Hollywood circle that Nicholson and Beatty had been the best of friends even before their careers took off. Hoffman just took a crack at that since Beatty's life long best friend was still to show up at his AFI tribute as he was at the Lakers' game. Just follow the crowd's reaction when Hoffman mentioned Nicholson's name.
They were just a cupple of songwriters.
i love dustin hoffman :)
1 foot in the grave award!!! whoa too hilarious made my day
this is a roast
Love the way he walks in... so comfortable and ready to go.
Can someone explain the Jack Nicholson thing to me? hehe
Ishtar shall rise again!!
I like Dustin Hoffman but his speech was unimpressive
Dazzling Dusty!
1:37 is that Chevy Chase???
:O
eveuschrist yep
Ishtar
Lol @ 5'6"...think you're a little shorter than that Mr. Hoffman. Greatest actor ever!
I'm sure he meant in the 1960s
Warren Beatty spoke at Jack Nicholson's AFI Lifetime achievement award.
ISHTAR RULESSSSS!!!!
Hello, Super Job! detect billowy What's your opinion about this !!!
Actually, Orson Welles got the Picture, Director, Actor, and Screenplay nominations for "Citizen Kane" decades before Beatty, but I guess Beatty still gets credit for doing it twice.
@DonScoreggia He migh have said "Farshstest", which is the Yiddish equivalent. Hoffman is Jewish.
yeah, she's been out in public quite often. she was in superman returns and becasue of winn-dixie. she's less hot and more old these days, but at least she's alive
@Mrx2848 Actually "Citizen Kane" didn't win best picture. John Ford's " How Green Was My Valley" did. So Warren Beatty actually does have the record.
God isn't annette benning beautiful
Turbo9987 She is both inside and out ❤️
3 : 21 .. is so funny that smile.
''I am here. And I was here for dinner''.
Hilarious. Love both of them Hoffman and Beatty :)
@Rouzbeht Yeah, but the only Oscar Beatty won was Best Director for "Reds". Likewise, Welles' only Oscar was Best Screenplay for "Citizen Kane". Neither "Reds" nor "Heaven Can Wait" took home Best Picture.
@kingcaesar5 very well said.since long never seen any "goood" movie.present day cinema is scheisse.
"best friend of Jack Nicholson" 🤣
Love Ishtar 🎉😂 teammates
3:21 what a smile! : )
absolutely
what was the nicholson comments about?? curious :)
Jack Nicholson (Warren Beattys best friend, but also a HUGE LA Lakers fan) missed the first half of the cermony in favor of a Lakers game.
@@hansnotgruber3326 jajaja, his best friend? Omg
@VICTHEREALEST It's a movie they were in back in the 80's that was disastrous...
What a great speech. Wow.
do jack and warren ahte or despise eachother by some chance?
Room full of skin suits and wind bags.
his smile at 3.21 is so fucking mischievous it's hilarious
0:29 seeing Chevy chase there remind me that Ishtar is actually a Rip Off a Chevy chase film Spies like us!
Both Spies Like Us and Ishtar are inspired of the old Hope and Crosby films.
@@rye2437 spies like us is more fun to watch
@masterd48 thats right...perfect sentiment..
@DonScoreggia why the hell does he do that?
Hahaha I love this speech. Warren is truly a legend :)
ishtar shall rise again????
I second that LoveShonenManga94
grave award... Man.... Funny!
I love Warren Beatty!
Hilarious!
I love Dustin, he deserve this AWARD!!!!
What's the song playing when Dustin makes his entrance?
Babs McConologue probably the theme of rain man
"Little Darlin'," by The Diamonds. The song is ineptly (and hilariously) covered by Rogers & Clarke (Beatty & Hoffman) in "Ishtar," with guidance provided by their booking agent Marty Freed (Jack Weston). "Let me tell you what I told Tony Bennett: 'Sing songs people already know. That way, if they don't like it, they'll still have something to applaud.'"
yup
Who Set me up Mumbles...lol
Yeah, he was nominated for four academy awards for Heaven Can Wait, but that doesn't mean it's a good film. It's actually pretty pedestrian and I'm sure if the Academy voted on 1978 again, it wouldn't make the cut.
Beatty was never that good, i don't think he deserved a lifetime achievement award. He was tempremental, inconsistent, not particularly prolific and his work is overpraised. His best film is Bonnie and Clyde, admittedly but he didn't write it.
Bugsy, Reds, Heaven Can Wait, Shampoo and even Dick Tracy!
Oh hell no
