I actually bought this wg2 2 days ago and just now waiting to get mine asap bought the smart remote also just to use on a car via suction cup to shoot rolling video and viewing live video off GoPro via app on the phone hope this gimbal will withstand the wind 💨 resistance though not worried as much about the heavy duty suction cup as worried this gimbal will not shake from high speed winds while driving 40-50mph
Awesome review, thank you for that. I think I will be buying this gimbal. I already have the Karma Grip, but have realized that there is a practical use to have both for certain situations. Certainly can't argue the price, normally a gimbal is much more expensive. Thanks again!
I think gimbals may make too sterile shots sometimes. For example when you corner with a bike, the horizon should tilt. It does not remove up/down bouncing (like steps if not walking very evenly). On cases where it is suitable, gimbals can be really great. I use them a lot in normal video hand held shots. Do not expect a magic tool without limitations.
Hey Kyle, I'm trying to decide between this and the Karma Grip, would you please make a comparison video and maybe resolve the question, what is the better gimbal for the Hero 5? It would be very handy for me and many others, thank you, great channel!
+MrFDUQUE I do not have a karma grip at the moment. Unless you need the waterproofness of this gimbal I would get the Karma. How it integrates with the GoPro makes using it easier and more an extinction of the camera then a separate piece of equipment.
A fair point in favour of the Feiyu and against the Karma is that the Karma cannot currently be used with the Session cameras... I love the session for it's portability, but if I want to stabilize the shot then the WG2 is the better (only) option?
+Luther Ardinger that is the big thing. A gimbal adds a lot of size and complexity to your set up. It is one more thing to charge and one more thing to turn on every time you need to take a shot. Add to that extra size of the gimbal and your camera is no longer something you can fit in your pocket but something you need a bag to carry around. I only take a gimbal when I am going to "be the camera operator" if I am just taking a GoPro to document my trip I leave the gimbal at home.
Great review! thanks for sharing! I like your b-roll and appreciate you putting in the water flowing over the electronics! After more than 7 months what do you think about the build quality. Some of the reviews on Amazon and on youtube have found dud units especially after using in the water. I'm deciding between the WG2 and the updated G5 which is splash proof and has a longer battery. Cheers!
I would lean towards the G5. I find the biggest gain with these gimbals is with hand held shots. If you are really wanting to use the gimbal mounted the WG2 is awesome but so is the G5
+Mr Haider thanks man! While you don't hear the motors while the gimbal is on the mic on the GoPro will pick them up. It is not loud but it is enough to make the audio from the GoPro almost unusable.
The S1 is only "rain proof" this one is said to be waterproof to one meter (3ft) for 10 min. While I like the S1 it is a little big, the WG2 is smaller and has unlimited rotation motors which are lacking on the S1
On many gimbals people complain of the motor noises being picked up when using the hero5 because of the location of the mics, do you find this with this gimbal?
You can hear the motors. That's the primary downside of the Hero 5. I haven't tried muffling them but was thinking of using a section of bicycle inner tube over the mic.
The only time I use the GoPro Hero5 with a gimbal is if it's going to rain. Otherwise I user a Garmin VIRB Ultra 30. The sound from that device is incredible.
I bought this gimble. Want to love it but after charging and balancing the gimble, I turned it on. First it went nuts. Moving all around uncontrollably. I turned it off. Then on again. The gimble settled into balance then it powered off. I again turned it on. Again it attempted to find balance. Once balanced it shut down again. Anyone have any experience with this?
That's pretty good for most surface watersports. Hopefully they can eventually develop one that can be used for snorkelling or scuba. But maybe that's asking for too much??
Craig Cochrane I got the new GoPro 6 hero black with the feiyutech wg2. It should do. Bracket adjustable and one of the axis slides to counter weight what ever camera you use.
James Feaser it's worth the $. I have the WG1 and payed $300 but it's not waterproof. It takes your filming to the next level. I love mine. I want the new one. I'll sell you mine for $150. 👍🏻
nice review man. either your voice or the mic you're using is perfect bro...
Chris Pratt has so many talent.

I got the wg2. Works a dream so far. I use it with my new GoPro 6 hero black
bowwave Paul That's the ultimate combination I think.
I have been waiting for someone to make a waterproof or water resistant gimbal, now I will by this one the WG2,

wow,incredible waterproof product
Best WH2 review out there! Cheers!

Is that footage shot in Strathcona Park? Looks alot like Crest!
Nice and complete video. Very informative. Thx for it .
Has the timelapse mode in the app been updated by now (setting for how long it takes camera to go from pointA to pointB)?

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate your opinion, great content!

+David Callier this is a very valid point.
Great video and great review I've been on the fence about buying a gimbal not sure if it's something I would use enough

Kyle Martin Tech "GoPro Tips and Tricks" thank you for the info it really helps I appreciate
Thanks for sharing man, very helpful review!
Hi i just bought it is it ok that after turn on still vibration?thank you for answer.

you look like Chris Pratt !!!!! amazing... many thanks for you vidéo ;)
I just bought a gopro hero 6. It's slightly thicker and heavier than the 5. Will this gimbal still work with the 6??
Could you tell me if its water proof or water resistant, and if it is water proof how deep can you go with it?
pinkze he say " thank you for the best review of this product on here, I can now make an informed decision "
Glad it helped! I hope you are extremely happy with whatever you get
What about battery life ??
Looks great. Thx for it .
Great man. I have a Feyiu tech G 5 it is great.
One question! Can you charge as you use the gimbal? With big enough external battery, wg2 should have unlimited operating time then..
Wonil Chung yes u can I see people do it.
Good video for WG2 users
can you add a sidekick light to it
My friend im going to China do i need internet service to use this jimbal with my gopro and my iPhone?
How about the motors? Are they loud in thr recorded footage? Good video btw
+Mr Haider thanks man! While you don't hear the motors while the gimbal is on the mic on the GoPro will pick them up. It is not loud but it is enough to make the audio from the GoPro almost unusable.
I have one and with my GoPro Hero 5 I get a lot of noise from gimbal motor. Any idea how get rid of it?
I would get the WG2, but how does it compares with Removu S1, also waterproof and mountable?
The S1 is only "rain proof" this one is said to be waterproof to one meter (3ft) for 10 min. While I like the S1 it is a little big, the WG2 is smaller and has unlimited rotation motors which are lacking on the S1
I just ordered mine! 😃
How waterproof is it?

Daniel Martinez , yeah, that's not good. Maybe I'll look at another brand. Or maybe invest in a GoPro session for use with the gimbal. Thanks.
The only time I use the GoPro Hero5 with a gimbal is if it's going to rain. Otherwise I user a Garmin VIRB Ultra 30. The sound from that device is incredible.
Can you use it in saltwater?
Great review! But sound is too low.
Where your Karma review man?!
My locking screw is permanently locked? Is it broke or just seized up?
Don't worry, I fixed it! :)
Will this take a Hero 3+? The Karma is not compatible with a Hero 3.
+nsx276 yep it can take the hero 3, hero 3+ or many of the other action cameras which have a similar design
Sam Worthington? Your american accent has improved!
I bought this gimble. Want to love it but after charging and balancing the gimble, I turned it on. First it went nuts. Moving all around uncontrollably. I turned it off. Then on again. I'm getting the feiyu
First, why so quiet??
Hey, Sam i thought you were working on Avatar 2. XD
How waterproof is it? Underwater?
+Brynmag Productions 1m (3ft) for 10min.
That's pretty good for most surface watersports. Hopefully they can eventually develop one that can be used for snorkelling or scuba. But maybe that's asking for too much??
Can you use it while it's charging?
Yes but with the port open it is not waterproof.
It's great video Dude, but you need to improve your audio mixing for a better.
Does this work for hero +?
Craig Cochrane I got the new GoPro 6 hero black with the feiyutech wg2. It should do. Bracket adjustable and one of the axis slides to counter weight what ever camera you use.
All I need is a gimbal but I don't want to spend too much money, why do they have to be so expensive?
James Feaser ikr
alexander peckham I just posted a video on my setup could you check it out? It's my first time ever talking in a video
Max's Gopro tips I got you man!
James Feaser it's worth the $. I have the WG1 and payed $300 but it's not waterproof. It takes your filming to the next level. I love mine. I want the new one. I'll sell you mine for $150. 👍🏻
13clicks ! I would like to man but I usually don't buy used electronics, I got screwed one time on eBay buying a used phone.
The audio is very hard to read too deep and different from your other videos
Didn't realize the actor from the Avatar had a RUclips channel 🤔
check your audio level please!
Have you tried restarting?
But that WG2 is shit in because of connecting with the smartphone!!! Often no connection!
You looks like Paul Walker.😊
please have volume raised when rendering videos, we can barely hear you
+majchi shit man I am sorry. I was rushing to get this video done for Friday and missed normalizing the audio. Leaned my lesson, never rush!
cant hear you at all
Soooooo sorry! I forgot to normalize the audio level.
Your audio is very bass-ee; how about adding some treble to it? This is spoken word, not music. Please help us hearing-impaired folks.
shit sorry, I messed up the mic settings on this and forgot to normalise the audio.
Are you people blind? Can't you see how this gimbal rolls left - right - left... ?
Low level of sound
+K4D0R yep! That is what happens when I don't normalize the audio level. Sorry about that. Hope you manage to pick up something useful
Actually yes thx.
I changed my mind on buying my next gimball between feiyu and lamparte.
bad sound this movie
