One of my favourite guitarists ever. From the early days of Fellsilent I've been playing for 20 years and still scratching my head over how you come up with your material and have to say thank you for push I need to improve my playing.
Sounds a very versatile tube driven head.. lots of clarity when using higher range of the guitar.. chords especially.. would love to hear how it performs with a downtuned guitar.. the mids always seem to shine more prominently with a higher tuning whatever the configuration I find. Great video and a great amplifier!
It sounds great! I want to hear it with some of your extended range guitars because of how bright and treble heavy this sounds. Hoping it would make the ER guitars sound nice and tight. Cheers!
Tubelistic I wanted to but dude it was already stupid loud on that low level, I have a box of doom on the way so I'm gonna do more higher volume reviews with that and hopefully save my hearing in the process!
Hey John! Gotta say, I'm absolutely floored when I hear new work from you. Quick question: a colleague and I are working on a black metal album and I'm trying to find a decent amp to record our tracks when we finish writing. Is there something comparable to this style on the much lower end of the money scale that you could recommend? Cheers!
grabmyrooster I'd honestly recommend a peavey 5150/6505 if money is right! Great amp for metal. If that's too metal then probably a boosted old school marshall.
Interesting, but is it possible to get a completely undistorted signal? You said it goes all the way from clean to.......,but it isn`t really clean.Or is it just another amp that doesn`t have a real(tm) ^^ clean channel?
John Browne I think he’s talking about when an amp looks like it’s going to be a Bruce Springsteen Machine, but a Metal band is going to be lining up to get one for their next tour. I agree it throws me off a bit too, like, not sure if you follow Mike Fortín super closely, I assume so with grind and Zuul, nice choice by the way :), but he made meshuggah amps that look like old Marshall Plexi’s, but are probably the most brutal amps in existence. I get why someone would be offset by their appearance, especially if they always watched bands who use, huge mean-ass stacks on stage like Mesa, and Engl and my Favorite EVH. I think the “sleeper” or classic aesthetic is more for people who... have already had those amps that looked like they could scream fire in your face through a 4x12. The Friedman BE-100, the Ampete here, and maybe even some Splawns, all have that classic aesthetic, but are capable of true destruction. I think they did it to please both sides, someone who maybe wants that old school look, but doesn’t want to sacrifice their high gain channel. There’s a long list that I could keep writing about it, mainly because I’ve had this conversation before, but all in all, to each their own. It used to throw me off, but after owning metal looking amps for a few years now, I want to add a Butterslax to my collection. :)
My body could not be more ready for that riff on M3
I know I'm pretty randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
This man is a phenomenal guitar player and deserves to be known world wide.
John Browne, thanks for reviewing a different not so common amplifier!
I love those vintage looking amp who sound like apocalypse

30 seconds in the video made my day.
Monster tones out of that rascal.
Love these videos John, stoked for more content
Holy fuck those riffs! I really hope that you will use this amp on M3, thanks for this awesome content
What happened with the dual recto?
Please make a review for randall facepunch pedal
Wow, this amp is incredible...
John do u plan to make streams any time soon? would be nice to comunicate with you, and ask some questions.
Hell yeah John. That song has a Gojiera vibe!
want one of these real freakin bad, especially after seeing it here and then later on meshuggah's rack
5:55 Eric Clapton - Layla? ;-)
Sounds a little to bright and harsh to me. But it might be my speakers or how he set the amp.
Garrett Seghers also the fretboard looks ebony. That gives a really bright tone.
metalheadblues Nope, this would all be pickups, amp and mixing. Wood, least of all fretboard wood, makes no difference.
Like your channel! You didn't demonstrate the Master dials. Any change in character when you bring those up? Cheers
Tubelistic I wanted to but dude it was already stupid loud on that low level, I have a box of doom on the way so I'm gonna do more higher volume reviews with that and hopefully save my hearing in the process!
I can imagine! Some beasts just don't come tame, and that''s just the neighbours. Looking fwd to the loadbox \m/ Thanks!
That riff is soo awsome! What tuning is the guitar in? Im trying to learn it! Huge fan

I have this amp and it goes Fenderlylish Clean :-)
Is this riff/song gonna be on M3? Sounds awesome!
Cooper Simms Drummer nah dude just something I threw together in a few hours while channelling my inner Gojira.
Ah ok. Sounds sick!
you better put this on the album John!!! Imagine Chris vocals on top!!!
Im already singing the chorus!
Do a Peavey Invective review!
New Monuments album?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!! Yeeeeesssssss!
Can you do a review on your Zoom UAC-8?
renthal971 quite hard to review but honestly it's solid. Really great unit.
your web page redirects to a PC VIRus bro
This is so addicting...
Brutal amp and review!!! Is the tuning DADGAD?
Aitor Rico probably that weird A tuning that they usually use but in D. :)
Tyler Saltmarsh So... DADGAD
FAGDAD is really good tho, as told by Periphery
Altmaster yeah that one hahah, I couldnt remember it off the top of my head and didn’t want to give the wrong info
Ivan Astapov haha u stole my line. Hahahaha
Eyyy new vid
That sounds amazing!is are you able to borrow a kemper and make a patch? Lol
Jordan Muller I've done many direct comparisons with the kemper and to my ears it's not 100% accurate, I would say 90% accuracy at this point in time.
John Browne just to bug you once more, how does this amp compare to the Peavey invective?
Do a peavey invective review!
Didnt expect anything else from this AMP, there is a reason people say german engineers lift everything up to a level thats compared to autism xD
its rather thin and scratchy but i suspect its the guitar which sounds like that really :)
Just subscribed.....great channel great vids....
"Do they make amplifiers as well as they make cars?" ...Ehmm - Diezel? :D
I mean ENGL amps and Framus Guitars are from Germany lol
you´re a beast man. i enjoy listen your agressive playing as i beat the crap out of someone and.... i mean, doing laundry :v
Heard a little lick of Layla in there. Us old dudes know that lick anywhere lol
what does that fortin grind pedal do to the signal? btw awesome thumbnail lol!
Clean boost
Clean boost and cuts a hefty amount of low end and seems to boost some high mids
thanks!i'll try to make it with eq pedal xd
Sick!
That's almost your clean tone too
no lowend sadly, sounds like a telephone for some reason
Try my playthrough of leviathan! I used the amp there with just one mic, plus i'd had time to try it out properly and get used to micing it!
yeh thats understandable, it sounded a lot better there. really liked the isobox tones in the 88s video aswell
i do not djont
the sleeper concept...I.M.O...is not for metal amps....
Eric Valverde elaborate further please!

John Browne sorry for the paragraph btw 😅
